Best pizza in town!
by JFBoisvert at Citysearch
After soccer practice, I needed to find a pizza place for the 15 kids in the back of my van. On my left, I suddenly see this pizza restaurant sign and I yell "Pizza Guys?" The answer was "Yeeeeeeeeah!" So we stopped there and I was able to feed everyone of these little monkeys for only $25. Rad!
- Pros: Very Italian! I love it!
- Cons: Which they would deliver...
Great pie; LONG delivery time
by gainyee at Citysearch
The pies are consistently excellent, but right now it's been 2 hours & 10 minutes and it's STILL not here. Shortest ever was 45 minutes, but it's usually 90.
fab deal!

Great New York pizza and on Mondays with their two-for-one large pizza deal, you can?t beat the value.
- Pros: two for one delicious pizza!
- Cons: cash only
Not NY, but still great

I agree that this pizza is not NY pizza. But for those of us stuck on the west coast its as good as it gets. the pizza is flavorful, crispy and dirt cheep.
Coming from someone who knows Pizza

the pizza is pretty good for the price i guess. But my parents own two authentic Italian deli's and I've eaten pizza all my life. thus i get very analytical over the ingredients.
The sauce needs more taste and it seems that the cheese is ok quality. I tried to ricotta cheese and it was absolutely tasteless.
if you are looking for a place that fills you up with somewhat of a good taste.. then this is the place..
its a great place when coming home late from work or club.
- Pros: cheap food, fast service, nice people
- Cons: parking.
Great NY pizza in LA
by juju13es at Citysearch
I am a big fan of thin-crust pizza (none of that thick, greasy stuff), so I fell in love with Lamonica's. It's a trademark spot in Westwood with its New York-inspired motif inside. Though they're thin, the slices are huge and the toppings are generous.
- Pros: delicious thin-crust pizza
- Cons: parking
Great pizza!

LaMonica's has delicious pizza for totally reasonable prices - and when you consider their huge fan base, they MUST be good! The ambience is a little dive-y but fun with it's New York theme, with street-signs, pictures, etc. They also deliver, and are open late. Stop by here for a tasty slice while you're in Westwood.
- Pros: pizza, ambience, hours
Not true NY pizza, but BEST in Westwood!
by mog78 at Citysearch
Setting this joint apart from other Westwood and Westwood Village pizza joints: large really is large; crust is thin (not true NY thin, though); crust to cheese to topping ratio seems just right; and when Lamonica's takes your order over the phone, they can understand what I'm saying, I can understand what they're saying*, and they find their way to my address right when they say they will. *P.S. I'm not dissing accents here, I'm just happy that at Lamonicas the phone connection / loudness of the shop / critical thinking abilities of the staff allow them to get my order right the first time. Period.
I love not getting too much dough / bread with my pizza and this is about as thin as pizza crust comes in the Westwood area.
- Pros: thin crust, nice people, prompt delivery
- Cons: inconsistent cheese quality, not true NY thin
Why don't more people know about this?

Lamonica's is SO good I don't know why there isn't a huge crowd every day! When they first opened they brought a whole bunch of free pizza to my sorority house (trust me, we can EAT) and they were gone in seconds. Probably the best pizza in LA- definitely the best in Westwood!
Pizza by the slice!
by doubledown37 at Citysearch
They have it here! And pretty good slices, at that. When I'm in the area, I usually stop by Diddy Riese and Lamonica's (Yeah, i know, cookies and pizza. Not exactly health food). Their pizza's are fantastic. The crust is thin, but lots of times, you don't even have to fold it (not sure if that's a good thing). They have a pretty big selection behind the glass case. They do have some Sicilian style pizzas too. The interior of the restaurant is decorated with New York Subway art. Nothing fancy, but who cares, just as long as the pizza is good. And it is!
- Pros: Good selection of pizza slices
- Cons: Hard to find parking
