Good service, great bread

would definitely recommend this place to everyone. They have fresh, off the grill bread that's baked in house. Friendly waitresses also
very large servings

i just had dinner here and it is pretty good. the bread was nice and warm, my chicken koobideh was good but i have had better. a friend said she thought the chicken koobideh could have been more flavorful. i had the dill rice with lima beans and that was pretty good. we also had the fried eggplant and that was pretty good.
there is a better persian restaurant a little more down westwood

My friend had told me to go to Flame so i took his advice, and boy was i disappointed! The food was mediocre and the service was just not up to par. Yeah, the place had cool plasma t.v.'s but thats pretty much the only good thing they got there. I recently went further down westwood, right after Santa Monica, to this place called Baran, and wowwwwwwwww the food was just AMAZING. The service was beyond words, and the decor was just so nice. If you are looking for a good Persian restaurant to dine in, Baran is the place to go...unless you want below average kabob then Flame is just right for you.
- Pros: cool plasma tvs
- Cons: food and service
BEST PERSIAN RESTAURANT IN LA
by hatmahn at Citysearch
Flame is the BEST persian restaurant in LA, and I would know cuz I'm not only Persian myself but also a true persian food fanatic. The 'tahdig' is delicious, crunchy, the kabobs are juicy, melt in your mouth....Service is good, decor is nice as well, with persian videos on plasma screens...in case you don't feel like talking...just enjoying the food.
And on friday, saturday, sunday nights, there's even a cute bellydancer who comes in for 30 min! BEST PERSIAN RESTAURANT IN LA WITHOUT A DOUBT: FOOD IS AMAZING, except for the "kashke bademjoon", it's not the real thing. For that, go to the other great persian restaurant on the same block: Shahrzad.
- Pros: FOOD FOOD FOOD, ATMOSPHERE
- Cons: SMALL SPACE, A LITTLE PRICEY (appetizer + main meal + soda + tip/tax = $35/person)
