Great Place
by mwader15 at Citysearch
I have been looking for a place since my return from Greece that has Tzatziki which tastes like that from Greece, and I have finally found it here. I highly recommend this restraunt for anybody that likes cozy settings and traditional Greek cuisine that is simple, colorful and packed with robust flavours. Many of the dishes at Delphi show influences from the Greek past, having a distinctive style of their own.
- Pros: Food, Ambience, Service
- Cons: Parking
A flavorful bit of Athens in LA .

Our favorite Greek restaurant in LA! Small, cozy, and warm with the feel of a home-owned family restaurant. Sometimes my husband and I share a dinner of appetizers -- lots of plates starting with great tzatziki, calamari, keftedes (fried meatballs) and the best imam baldi (baked eggplant with tomatoes and onions) you can find. Add a flavorful Greek red wine and hot pita bread... and you are in heaven.
If you haven't been to Greece for a while and want to feel like you are there-- take a local trip to this restaurant and enjoy. You won't be disappointed.
- Pros: Great food, warm and simple surroundings, comfortable service.
- Cons: Park across the street in Borders -- an extra enjoyment of shopping afterwards!

I was excited to visit this place for a birthday dinner. I had been there once before *many* years ago and seeing that it had endured, I wanted to revisit. I have to say that while I lived in San Diego, there was an AMAZING greek restaurant, Aesop's Tables, so I was expecting the same. Well, the food was certainly good, I had the chicken souvlaki, came with a nice dinner salad, rice potato. Chicken was delicious.
The decor was simple, plain. Unfortunately, our waiter seemed a bit inexperienced, timid perhaps, and when my friend asked about the wine list, he mumbled the selections. When she had a question about the house wine, he mumbled the answer again, it was a little odd. Since I had suggested the restaurant, I was a bit embarassed and the general awkwardness. And it sort of spoiled my experience.
There were plenty of people buzzing in and out with to-go orders, so maybe that will be my strategy next time. I think I'll try a few other greek places before going back to this one.
- Pros: great food, comfortable, leisurely
- Cons: inexperienced staff

We love eating here whenever we get a chance. We have had other friends that don't like some items but I think it is a matter of taste. I recommend the Olympos plate and the wine marinated chicken. Yum! The atmosphere is interesting but they treat you like family here and Ihave never been disappointed.

A Dionysian-themed interior and authentic Greek menu pays homage to the Old Country.

In Short
Mediterranean, mythologically-inspired artwork and soft lighting make this casual eatery feel like an Athens roadside cafe. Salty Greek Kefalotiri cheese steals the appetizer show--it arrives flaming in Cognac. Phyllo-heavy sampler plates are also popular starters. Traditional mousaka is a favorite entree, and other specialties include sea bass Plakia ala Grecque, fish sauteed in tomato, celery, onions, garlic and herbs, and wine- and herb-marinated lamb souvlaki. Dessert options include baklava and smooth Galaktobouriko custard.
I Love This Place!

I've gone to Delphi since 1986, I was 10. I think the name was different then, but the food has always had the same excellent taste! I live in Colorado now, and NEVER fail to go to Delphi during my California visits.
- Pros: Delicious Food, Very Inexpensive
