Go For the Panang or Red Curry
by cathcwang at Citysearch
My bf and I have been searching for the best panang and red thai curry in L.A. for the past 4 years and we still haven't found anything better than Emporium Thai. They make it spicy with mild peanut flavor that is not overwhelmingly sweet like it is at other Thai restaurants. Both the beef and chicken are tender. However, Emporium has raised its prices over the past few years and they are kind of chintzy on rice, so I would recommend making your own rice if you're going to get it delivered. Also, I've tried other rice and noodles dishes, but I don't really like them. They are usually too oily or low quality. The service is usually really nice, so we like to eat at the restaurant occasionally.
- Pros: Panang & Red Thai Curry, Friendly Service
- Cons: Can't Vouch for the Other Thai Dishes, Small Rice Portions

We have been going to Thai Emporium for years. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, and the staff could not be more friendly. All of the curries are delicious (we love the shrimp pineapple).

We've been here to dine for 3-4 times, and it'd never let us down. My husband loves it house honey rib, it's juicy , tender and tasty. And the price is reasonable.
- Pros: Good food
Some of the best Thai food I've ever had
by 5h09un at Citysearch
This is some of the best Thai food I've ever had, but I feel like I should add that I've never actually been to Thailand. I thought Tomodachi Sushi was a great Japanese restaurant until I went there about two or three weeks after returning from a year-long stay in Japan. I think it's overpriced garbage now, and I'll probably never go there again. Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked.
The only down side that Emporium has is that it's a bit more expensive than its competitors. If you only eat out occasionally, though, this won't bother you very much. This is especially true if you're eating there for lunch. Their lunch specials are very cheap! It's dinner that sets you back.
My favorite thing from that restaurant right now is the barbecue chicken. The biggest disappointment I've had was the beef satay. I think Thai BBQ (there are restaurants all over LA) has the best beef satay. Overall, though, this is some of the best Thai food I've ever had. The only other restaurant I can think of which compares to this one is Banana Bay in Diamond Bar/Rowland Heights/whatever that area is called. I haven't been there for a couple of years, though.
Anyway, don't miss this, especially if you're a UCLA student. It's some of the best food on the west side.
- Pros: The food is without parallel
- Cons: A little more expensive than its competitors
Yuck!
by rwingsgal at Citysearch
I have no idea why this has a high rating. Panang Curry was just ok. The Chicken Satay was MICROWAVED! And Pad-See-Ew was more like Pad-See-YUCK!
Go somewhere else. You'll thank me.
Great customer service
by evywang at Citysearch
They have a great yellow curry that comes with chicken and a large portion of white rice, their pad se ew is satisfying, and you can't go wrong with good old pad thai. You also get three free spring rolls with an order of $20 or more (something like that). The decor inside has a cozy feel to it with warm colors and nice table settings. I'm most impressed with the customer service - everyone is very friendly and accommodating. One time we were there just to pick up our take-out order, and they insisted that we sit down at a table and got us water while we waited (for less than five minutes).
- Pros: Customer service, reasonable prices
- Cons: Free springs rolls not the best
