If you have a problem with Gift Cards
by ravenwoods at Citysearch
I had a problem with expiring gift cards and took it up with the owners. If you have gift card which does not have an expiration date printed on the card, and yet they will not honor the card, remind them that the owners have promised to comply with the law, which says that expiring gift cards must have a clearly printed expiration date on the card.
- Pros: good food
- Cons: If you have a problem with Gift Cards
Lovely setting but so-so food
by yoohoo12 at Citysearch
We went here for a post-graduation celebration and were a little disappointed. The setting is lovely but the menu was limited and not that special, especially not at those prices. Our waitress was friendly and attentive at first but must have gotten busy because we hardly saw her again after the food arrived. Certain items we ordered were good but most were just average. I wish we'd gone elsewhere for our special occasion.
- Pros: Nice setting, personable staff
- Cons: Slow service, somewhat expensive
Great Menu & ambience
by satnitediner at Citysearch
Mother's Day brunch was very nice, we ordered a variety of dishes, including the Special. The crab cake was delicious with an unusual banana/kiwi salad. The eggs benedict dishes were cooked to perfection.
All hot foods were piping hot and cold dishes were nicely chilled. Service was a bit slow, but it was super busy and crowded. As always seated quickly and were not rushed out - like some restaurants do on a holiday. Valet was great too.
- Pros: Great selections - such variety, Nice servers, Valet Parking
- Cons: Tables are very close together, gets a little noisy, some rooms are very cold.
Best Valentine's Day dinner/romantic date scene EVER!
by mnirivero at Citysearch
This is a great place to dine for a romantic night out. It was easy to find and had valet right out front. We had no reservations, but were sat within 10 minutes and were even given a special seat on the rotunda, overlooking the lights upstairs! We were promptly asked if we wanted wine and even got it poured quickly. To top it off, and the true testament to the restaurant: we both enjoyed our dinner tremendously; I ordered the salmon and he ordered the shrimp and they were both cooked perfectly with a divine sauce. We thought it was so good, that we had to order dessert (eventhough we were both stuffed)...and we were really glad we did because it was a perfect finish to the right entrees. If we weren't already married this is where I'd want to be proposed to! We will definitely be going back again and recommending it to all our friends.
- Pros: The incredible scenery and wait staff's attention to detail
- Cons: you'd have to be really uptight to find any problems with this place
Exceeded expectations
by wistashowers at Citysearch
Before we made out reservations for Gardens on Glendon we read the reviews on citysearch. We almost opted out after the harsh reviews but we decided to stick it out because it was still a 1000 points on open table. So going in we were skeptical but we were pleasantly suprised. The table side guacamole was very good despite the same side table sitting couple next to us that watched us enjoying it. The bottle of wine was very good and the menu despite being limited was not as bad as we were expecting. The service was adequate although slightly pushy about ordering and taking our plates away. The setting made this a place that i would recommend. Comparing this place or any to fast food places seems a bit ridiculous to us.
- Pros: ambience, guac
- Cons: same side sitting couples and comparisions to fast food places
Way Overpriced
by moilleur at Citysearch
The food is average and way overpriced. However, I would recommend it over fast food any day of the week. I enjoyed the ambiance and the waiter and waitress staff were all very attractive and pleasant to deal with.
TIP: Skip the salsa and order the guacamole dip! You will be blown away at how great it tastes!!
- Pros: service, ambience
- Cons: overpriced
Definitely a place to put on the list!
by givesadamn at Citysearch
The restaurant features 3 very different and unique seating areas, so depending on your mood there is a place for whatever. Also the bar/lounge is a terrific atmosphere with great service. This staff is all about the customer. Not the cheapest place, but the menu is delicious.
average food at more then average prices

This is a really pretty place. The food isen't bad but it's average. I wouldn't pay that much to eat there again although when I am nearby it sure beats fast food!
- Pros: pretty atmosphere, hardly ever any kids there
- Cons: overpriced menu,
Westwood Village landmark stakes its reputation on creative appetizers and desserts.

In Short
This brick building's cavernous dining space is divided into three rooms and an large, oval wooden bar serving a limited menu. Patrons include everyone from society ladies dripping with diamonds to gussied-up UCLA students. Regulars begin with guacamole, spiced to order and prepared tableside. Many guests stick with appetizers and desserts, but entrees include dishes like grilled spicy salmon and New York steak with Cognac-pepper sauce. For dessert, chocolate decadence cake and three cream Sundae with fresh fruit are standouts.
totally overpriced
by cutiekatie at Citysearch
the appetizers were delcious, but that was about it. the waiter said the special for the night was a shrimp dish, which i ordered. when he put a plate of scallops in front of me, i was confused. he said that he had told me the special was scallops, and i must have not heard him correctly. i ate them reluctantly- they were horrible. very gummy and salty. my dining partner's dish was not much better. expensive wine that they never poured for us after the first glass. very disappointed for the price.
