Wonderful Place.
by saxophonegirl_81
The sevice there is amazing. They are at your side within seconds and seem to know when you want something, before you know you want it. This place is small, yet very nice and very clean. The food was EXCELLENT, spiced just right(and priced fairly). You can order your food as spicy or as mild as you wish. Parking is a little tricky. Vallet is $5, if you decide to opt out and park on the street, there's a good chance you'll have to walk a little. Saturday, before 6pm the place was empty. As it hit 7, there were more and more coming in. It never seemed crowded though. Ambience was very nice after they figured out how low the lights should be.
For dessert, the sweetened milk balls were great! I just wish there were more than two. It's some of the BEST Indian food I've ever had.
- Pros: Great Service, Great Food, Good Price
- Cons: lack of parking
Awful experience
by restaurantwatch
I used to like this restaurant at the beginning over a year ago. Unfortunately, I have had two recent bad experiences with this place concerning hygiene and health. Both times I found "hair" in my buffet food and I was totally disgusted. I brought it to the manager's attention. He did not show any concern nor apologized for the unsanitary food. I suppose the only good thing about this restaurant is its polite waiters! Once this restaurant has become slightly popular, regretably the hygeine and sanitation protocols are nonexistant in this Indian buffet place. To top this off, the management has become appallingly arrogant and unconcerned.
Avoid this restaurant by all means if you care about your health.
- Pros: polite waiters
- Cons: unsanitary food
Best Indian Food in L.A.
by arillight
This is the BEST Indian food in L.A. The people are super friendly and attentive. The food is so rich in flavor and the best I've ever had! It can look quite empty in there, I feel really bad for them because their food is so good. If more people knew about it and tried it this restaurant would be packed!
- Pros: Food is Outstanding!
- Cons: None
Very generous portions-unusual for Indian cuisine
by cindicus
We went to this restaurant for the first time last weekend. We were pleasantly surprised at how generous their portions are. We ordered only two entrees - chicken Saag and mushrooms with peas, along with an order of rice and an order of garlic naan, and we walked away with leftovers. Everything we had was good - the chicken was very tender. We are definitely planning to go back. We didn't have any trouble finding parking even though it was a Saturday night.
- Pros: Good food. Generous portions. Reasonable prices
Tasty Indian food, good service
by danthewireman
The waiters are actual waiters, not surly wannabe actors, and the food is very good. Nice, quiet ambiance. Reasonable prices, too. There's usually ony a few people in there at a time, but don't be put off by that. They seem to have solved the tender-meat problem one of the other reviews mentioned.
- Pros: Very good food, Professional service, Reasonable prices
Mostly Thumbs Up
by achickwwit
Sauces were great; the meat just wasn't tender. The superb service more than made up for it, though, and we'll probably return.
- Pros: Not crowded, Nice wine selection, Friendly
- Cons: Meat not tender
Best Indian Food on the Westside
by pcampbell
The New India Grill is a shining star in the West LA dining universe. It is a charming small neighborhood restaurant that serves some of the best Indian food on the Westside. All of the standard dishes are here with a few unusual selections. The vegetarian dishes are particularly good as they are cooked slowly with good quality ingredients resulting in rich tasting sauces. There is a good selection of freshly cooked breads, several with unusual fillings. The restaurant has a small but adequate wine list, the staff is friendly and the prices are very reasonable given the quality of the food The lunch buffet is a real bargain.
- Pros: inexpensive, service, great food
