*clearly* the best!
by Nicole Urso at Citysearch
I've been going here for a few months now to get facials from Claudia. I highly recommend going to her for very relaxing and extremely effective facials. She's great about recommending products ... but not pushing them on you, and she helps you to understand how lifestyle and diet could positively or negatively impact your complexion. Prices are reasonable and the service overall is very friendly.
- Pros: Claudia's facials
Nice Environment and Good Pedicure
by xyz22262 at Citysearch
This place was very helpful, friendly and gave a nice, relaxing pedicure. The manicure was good too but if you have to choose one over the other, the pedicure was worth the money. The total costs for a manicure and pedicure are a little pricey but you do get some extra time and special care to your feet. Worth the extra costs to treat yourself. Very satisfied and will return.
- Pros: Nice Environment and good pedicures and CLEAN!
- Cons: a little pricey
GREAT PRODUCTS

I am seasoned in the experiences with "Spa Like" envirnoments and this by far is one to talk about. You walk in and your greeted promptly, offered something to drink...coffee, tea with honey, diet coke, wine or a good old mimosa...yum ! yum!
The music that's played is toe tapping and relaxing all rolled up into one. I had the pleasure of having a facial with Epicuren product...if you don't know Epicuren you are missing out...Not only do they use them in their facials but in their Mani's & Pedi's...WOW! Now we are talkin' great quality...Try the Epicuren Classic Facial...it's will tighten and make you glow!
Their staff was knowledgable about the benefits of taking care of your skin at any age I wasn't pushed into buying any products but suggested a few for the future ( which is nice for a change)...I've been to Burke Willams and other name brand spa's where I felt like I had to buy 10 things that I didn't need or want...I was put at ease from the moment I walked in to Peponi...I will come back !!!
I recommend this humble abode to friends, family and even my neighbors.
- Pros: Products, Service, Ambience
Very disapointing....

I have been to Peponi a number of times and have always found the service and quality of pedicure above average. But my last 2 visits have been very disappointing. The women that had done by nails in the past no longer worked there, so I tried 2 new people. Yesterday, the girl was so rough in scrubbing the sides of my feet (why she scrubbed an area that isn't rough I don't know) that I now have a scrape on the side of my foot. I also asked for my toes to be buffed and not polished. She buffed so hard, she left red marks on my toes. I asked why it was red and she said it would go away in a few hours...it's still red. She also didn't bother to shape my nails, only cut them, which I discovered after I got home and now have to do myself. For $50, I expect more thorough service. I guess I shouldn't have read a magazine, but instead monitored what was going on. I will not return to Peponi and I don't recommend trying it. There are better places, especially for $50.
- Pros: prettty atmosphere, quiet
- Cons: parking, inadequate staff, price

Relax in casual but sophisticated nail salon and spa
by annela at Citysearch
This place was great.....adorable bungalow converted to an airy and sophisticated salon. I believe I had Janet and she was great. Friendly, yet let me read my magazine and relax. The owner also assisted me with some Epicurean Skin products that I was asking about. Found this place on City Search when my previous salon shut down and am glad I did. Totally recommend!!

Hidden gem

I moved to Venice Beach from Beverly Hills last summer and was anxious to find a great mani/pedi spa on the west side. I'd tried a couple of the places on Main Street and hated them...a 10 minute manicure as the person hacks away is not my idea of money well spent (and for the sake of my nails, I'd be better off doing it myself -- which is pathetic given my pure lack of skill.) Last year I received my Daily Candy email and Peponi was featured. I immediately drove over to see if they could fit me in. At first I was hesitant as the spa is in a -- for lack of a better word -- dirtier section of Lincoln Boulevard, but every fear was taken away as I entered the gates to the salon. Without meaning to sound cliche, it is truly a beach oasis. The cottage is adorable, relaxing, very zen like. The staff was as nice as could be. In fact the owner of the salon is the one that greets you! And my mani/pedi...my nails have never looked better! Absolutely relaxing chairs, ambiance, EVERYTHING was perfect. I've been there 3 times now and the same girl has done my nails (I forget her name but she has blonde hair and is from Austin) and she is amazing. She looked like she was performing surgery with how meticulous she was. Couldn't recommend this place more.
- Pros: Relaxing ambience, skilled/friendly/personable staff, quality products, free cocktails, great color selection
- Cons: Location...but that's a very very minor con (and the only reason I say it's a con is it may deter future customers -- which it shouldn't!!!!)
Worn hands and tired tootsies get much-needed nourishment at this cozy Venice bungalow.

Peponi is spectacular. It's a little piece of heaven, right on Lincoln Blvd. It's housed in a beautiful bungalow and everything's designed to soothe - the seats, the music, the products and services. I've been there several times and have spread the joy via gift certificates to friends.
