User Reviews for Cinema Suites

I travel across the US and stop at B&Bs all over the country! This is a truly B&B old style, great price for the location, you can't get a motel or hotel for the cost anywhere near this place. It is a do it yourself B&B which is fine with me, I don't want anyone in my business. Close to everything, on site parking VERY IMPORTANT IN LA!!! Dianne was the host and was a wonderful source of LA information. I would recommend Cinema Suites to anyone traveling to LA. Thanks will be back! DG

Pros: Host, TV and location.

Cons: Traffic a little hectic

Place was very clean and what a price for what you get! Big TV, B&B in a great location will be staying here again and again! Better than any LA Hotel by far!!! This is a true old style B&B! I highly recommend it!

Pros: Great lovation, not having to deal with the crazy LA hotels!

Cons: None I can think of!

We can only agree with the first reviews, this place was dirty, untidy and we were treated as if we were in the way. The self serve breakfast was a do it yourself with whatever food is there most of it very unappetising and if it is cold or wet on the patio there is nowhere to sit and eat it as the dining room table is full of papers and jumble sale goods. Dirty washing was piled on the washing machine and dirty dishes in the sink. This was not only a make your own breakfast but make your own bed. The cleaner (we were able to speak to her in Spanish) only came in on a Tuesday, along with the gardener who mows the lawn very early in the morning, waking everybody up. The shower room which should have been adjacent to our bedroom was through the hall turn left into the office right into the kitchen and left again. Sheets and towels all need replacing. We had a lovely three week holiday and this spoilt it. It was also one of the dearest places we stayed. Final straw was after a very tiring day touring LA whilst making our bed discovered old beer bottle tops in between the bed and bedside table. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE.

Pros: Can't think of one

Cons: Unsanitary, parking nightmare (busy main road), not welcoming

To whom it may concern: I have to say our stay at Cinema Suites this past weekend was extremely disappointing. Though centrally located and with huge potential to be a positive experience the following is a partial list of items myself, as well as other guests I spoke with, found unacceptable: Bed sheets were stained and ripped Shower had mold and the water flow was ridiculously shooting out No curtain on the bathroom window Bar soap is not hygienic for multiple guests No trash can in the room Breakfast food in the kitchen was moldy (muffin on the counter) Unsanitary open ice cream container with silverware inside of freezer Laundry and immense clutter in plain view Inhospitable hostess didn't even look at us when responding to a question In short, this made for less than a pleasant stay and we would have left had it not been nearly impossible to find last minute accommodations.

Pros: Location

Cons: Unclean, Noisy, Inhospitable

This is one B&B where you make you OWN Bed and you own breakfast. The last reviewer is pretty accurate about description (Metal Snake8). Our TV and the tables and nightstand were totally dusty (TV wasn’t dusted for like a year). The room was neat but somehow just didn't feel clean. The bath rugs are so dirty they are a different color than their original colors and you share a bathroom. There was a tub where apparently all the dirty towels are put since the tub was filled with towels. Overall, if you like to be served in a B&B (which is the experience I've usually had), have nice clean rooms etc., do NOT stay here. Other than that, the location is fantastic! and they have parking is on premises and it’s a very sunny house, so that was good. However, it wasn’t anything like I thought it was by looking at their website…

Pros: Fantastic Location and parking on premises.

Cons: Not clean and you make your own bed and b.fast

Travelling across the US, we've stopped at B&Bs in MA (Boston), NY (NYC & Syracuse), IL (Chicago), and CA (San Francisco & Los Angeles) but this was just ridiculous. This was, without a doubt a one-star B&B. (Maybe two with the big TV?) The first day of arrival at the inn, the office was inconveniently CLOSED at 3-ish pm. NOTICE: "Office Hours: 9am-8pm"? The front door was locked and we were sitting in our rent-a-car in their driveway. I had to pull out my international cell phone; a very pricy call when using a global phone from another country FYI. And hear this; NO ONE ANSWERED! We could hear the phone ringing inside the house, but no one answered. So we had to make another pricy call to their emergency phone and finally someone answered. The lady who answered was rude and didn't even apologize for the inconvinience. They told us that the key was hidden under the doormat and we had to go fetch it ourselves. Then some basic instructions and greetings were made over the phone. The rooms were reasonably sized, the TV was the biggest of all places we've stayed, but those are the only pros I can think of. Not to mention that any B&B should have the things I've mentioned. CONS: The rooms were unvacuumed and our black suitcases collected the dust and were all white. Dirty dirty dirty... Shared bath and bathroom which they failed to mention when we booked the B&B Poor customer service (Honestly, we've never met the inn-keeper even on our 4th day. We only "met" on the phone) No trash bin or exchange of towels Overall, this B&B was obviously a low-budget B&B and they showed little interest to satisfy their customers. We've stayed at inns in Syracuse and Chicago, and we've loved them. They had luxurious rooms with high-end equipment and beautiful decorations. One even had a jacuzzi! But, this was just our opinion, and everyone has their personal taste and experiences...

Pros: Big TV, accessible busses, safety

Cons: Everything mentioned in the review*

What a nice place! MRT Media is an Advertising Agency located in Beverly Hills, we are always inviting clients to visit us; Cinema Suites is the right place for our clients, very good location, clean rooms and rates are within reason. Also the owner of the place Mrs. Bennett is always very charming, she also is acquainted with the City so she provides her guests with a variety of recommendations for restaurants, museums and the like...

Pros: Location, ambience and service

Nice B&B. The Best one we've stayed in. Nice woman who owns it. Very clean and furnished well. Nice back yard. Relaxing. Loved the food. I will tell everyone I know about it.

Pros: Nice B&B with a low price tag

Well, I found this place on the net, and I'm always looking for new places to stay while in LA. I'm here at least 4 days per month on business. The same old thing gets a little old. And I try to stay in B&B's to avoid the hotel feeling..... Anyway, found this little gem and will now make this place my perminate place to stay while in LA. The price is way better then what I've been paying. I feel like I'm at home but in a Hollywood Gam, old movie star feel. Diane is a great host and stays out of your business. Unless you need a conversation, and believe me, she knows where everything great to see about LA is.....This woman should be a National Landmark. Give the place a try and you'll see why I have chosen this as my only place to stay when in the LA area.....

Pros: Ambience, Parking, Service, Comfort, Value, Clean...

This home is a piece of art! My only problem with writing a review for the Cinema Suites is that it is hard to give away one of my best travel secrets in Los Angeles. We stayed there for 3 nights out of a 15 day vacation and this place was the best - and the last 12 we spent in 5 star hotels. The feeling of a "real" Hollywood home is felt here. The whole house was at our disposal and I felt my self being a guest in a private home rather then staying in a bed and breakfast. The room we stayed in was big and there was brand new furniture and our private bathroom was superb. We made use of the homes private kitchen for our breakfast and you just take what you want - and there was plenty to choose from. In the afternoons we relaxed in the wonderful drawing room or in the garden. Dianne the inn keeper is half the experience as she is a "knows everyone in LA type of person" and she is always good for a story from her wild days on the town. The spirit of traveling is to experience new places and when you get under the "skin" of a destination that makes it perfect - and here you get that feeling. I would not stay anywhere else in LA then here! So as I now will call this my Hollywood home - feel free to come stay in my room!
