Best Kosher in CA

by Elli

All of Pico/Robertson know that Shilos is the #1 Kosher Steak in CA, and by far!

I'm more of a lunch guest and I just love it there!. The lunch menu is very different than the dinner with very good prices and good food.

Stars and Actors Favorit

by 122376

I do not know if you seen the photos on the back but Demi Moore, Ashton, Bill Cristal, few Mayors and a lot more do eat there weeky.

This place has been around for almost 3 years ?? and nobody told me about it!! I told the owner (very friendly and modest) they should be the top rated SteakHouse in LA.

The special of the day changes every week and its from a different country every single time! now I can eat all over the world without using my privat jet...

Modern steakhouse fuses kosher tradition with exotic flavors and an eclectic scene.

by Alison Kramer

In Short
Contemporary yet classic, kosher cuisine is the focus at this cozy Pico establishment. Padded, high-backed booths and wall-to-wall mirrors soften the all-white dining space, where traditional and non-Jewish patrons alike dine beneath warm lighting. The menu, featuring everything from bison steak to linguine Bolognese, is prepared exclusively with copper saucepans, Breton granite and brushed stainless steel--age-old tools rarely found in modern kitchens. Signature plates include pan-seared sweetbreads with cognac-saffron demi glace and grilled ahi steak with chardonnay-basil-caper sauce.

The best steak restaurant!

by barkana

I've had a lot of steaks, and these are probably the best, even better than more expensive non-Kosher ones. Choose the Laredo Log Steak (lean thick cut). Also the chocolate mousse is the best I've ever had (and I've had quite a few)! Also, the fresh, hot bread served at the beginning is the best anywhere. The prices are not cheap, but also not as expensive as the quality of the food. Lunch is cheaper and excellent.

Shilos, great place, amazing deserts

by swischef

If you are looking for a koshersteakhouse with style go to Shilos. I would not recommend the chicken but any steak is usually amazing. Avoid the cowboy sauce if you're not a fan of heavy sauces. I would definitely go there for deserts, it is unique and kosher.

  • Pros: Kosher, deserts
  • Cons: expensive

LA's Rock'n Steakhouse

by tali26

Shilo's Kosher Steakhouse is one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles. It is an intimate, modern steakhouse with pleasant staff, who enjoy entertaining and celebrating special moments with their guests. There is an array of steaks to choose from whether you are looking for something lean or something a little heartier, with various delicious sauces to choose from as well. My favorites are the Cowboy Steak and the Chopped Salad and the great thing, from my frequent visits, is they have daily specials with a variety of appetizing steaks, fish, pastas, appetizers, and salads. Though it may be a bit cozy, owners mentioned that they are in the midst of expanding. I can?t wait for my next meal at Shilo?s!

  • Pros: Cowboy Steak, Chopped Salad, and Tuna Tartar
  • Cons: Can't think of anything

I have lost my faith since eating at shilos. Keeping Kosher has never stunk so hard!!!!!

by shadi

Kosher or not, sevice and presentation stunk! We were greeted by a rude hostess and what seemed to be one of the owners or a manager standing and blocking the entrance into the dining room. We had to squeeze by him to get in. The server would repeat what I asked him to get for me with a blank look on his face as if he himself never has eaten in a restaurant or maybe even had a conversation with someone! Steak was ok the ribs were unedible and the restaurant trys to come high class when its not. Lets put down some checkered table cloth stop serving ketchup in designer plates and get some waiters with experience at Chilis or Friday's. My experience stunk at the moment the Valet greeted me to the moment I realized that the hostess to better accomodate our party asked us to move our table ourselves. The bus Boy was completely confused but must be very well payed becausehe was wearing huge diamond earings! Im angry I wasted my money ,sad that I am forced to eat un Kosher meat! Because Next week. Mastros!!!!

Note to the owners: Get a staff that has a clue. I know youre from France and have a flashy Website, thats not going to make your sub par, bad service, rude host, dining establishment last beyond the people who are forced to keep kosher and the people who elect to have a choice. My advice .... Break the commandments of the Torah and eat at McDonalds. You'll feel better the next day!!! God Will understand.

  • Pros: Opaka paka Sashimi.

self promoting fake reviews!!!!

by azmmza

I went to SHILO with a friend and his wife. while the place looks nice, I would not go back. They packed in so many tables that the waiter had to pass food over my head to get to the people sitting behind us. My plate was not hot like most nice places and my side dishes were cold. the steak was nothing to write home about and even the waiter complained to us about how cramped the layout is.

with regards to the reviewer who claimed SHILO was better than prime grill, keep dreaming.

  • Pros: I wish there was a pro
  • Cons: the seating is cramped and the food is overpriced for what you get
