Quaint little bar to enjoy a few drinks after work. The atmosphere is very intimate and relaxing. And the bartenders are really nice

A few of out of state clients ,co-workers,and I went for happy hour.It was thursday evening and fairly crowded.Drinks are great and service was good too. It's a great place to go right after a long day at work.
- Pros: Great Place For Happy Hour
- Cons: Downtown Traffic
Great Happy Hour; Cozy Vibe

I like the happy hour choice of $5 margaritas or martinis. It gets pretty crowded on a Thursday with all the downtown people coming in for drinks after work. It is pretty crowded at the bar so it takes a while to get a drink but overall it is a good spot to hang out with your friends. Get there early to save a spot on the couches near the fireplace.
Great Space, not crowed

The library bar is in a great location. You have other options to choose from including The Standard across the street, Elevate Lounge around the corner, etc.
inside is very intimate, not incredibly small. though i'm not an avid reader, the book section was very good. Too bad the bar is too dimly lit to read.
I give their restrooms an +A for cleanliness and desgin. The one thing i found interesting the most is that you have to order your food from next door, which is wolfgang puck. you call them, tell them you're next door, and they'll bring you your food.
other than that, it's a cool bar. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but it's always an option if you run out of options
- Pros: design, location, books, parking ($5 with valet underground next door)
- Cons: i sat next to a homeless guy who wouldn't stop talking to me. nice guy, but needed a shower
timing is everything

After work there are a lot of the older business folks in here, and later at night there are a lot of dudes that couldn't get into the standard. I liked this place before all of the downtown male population discovered the undiscerning door policy, and I stopped liking it when I realized all of them had just come to oogle the bartenders. The crowd is really what keeps this place down; last time I was here, there was a couple sleeping in the back room (the one with a mirror on the ceiling). I love the jukebox though, and I feel like every time I'm here, someone plays Roxanne.
- Pros: beer list, roxanne
- Cons: no girls
wine list? who needs it?

I will be honest: I don't usually pick beer as my drink of choice when I go to a bar. In fact, I wouldn't usually stop at a place like this, being slightly intimidated by its mature, business-man style look. However, a couple of my friends work downtown and invited me out for dinner and drinks after work, suggesting we try Library Bar because they had heard so much about it, and one of them had gone for a beer tasting event there.
Needless to say, I am glad I went. I discovered some "feminine" beers and enjoyed the atmosphere. It was quiet enough to sit down and talk... in fact, there was a little nook of couches and books we sat in.. it felt comfortable and perfect after a day at work.
I made it sound like all they had was beer... this is incorrect. Along with their extensive beer list they had a collection of cutely named cocktails... one was called "the WIlly Wonka"... very cute. I am happy I had this experience here and would definitely go back.
- Pros: ambience, bartenders' knowledge
- Cons: gets crouded... but is that really a con?
Almost as many beers as books!

I just checked out Library Bar last Sat., and I have to say it's one of the new favorites personally. For anyone who appreciates the finer beers, this is it. Arrogant Basterd, Chimay, Three Philosopher's etc. You have to check out the list. It's like a mashup between BevMo and the library. They've got seats and booths with walls lined with all kinds of books to browse through. One of the servers was a little slower in identifying just which beers I wanted to try, but she was probably new. And, all of the the staff was very friendly and glad to help. I wish all libraries were like this!
- Pros: Beer Selection. Unique Decor. Nice Staff.
More More More.....

Library Bar is one of those cool types of places that keep you wanting more. You walk into the sultry atmosphere where a beautiful "Tyson" look a like checks to see your legal status. Depending on when you go, you can find a laywer that needs to get the edge off, a salesman who is "here on business", or a local who finds knitting and sipping on a single malt at the Library is what fills her needs.
The Bartenders will guide you into finding the best thirst quencher to suit your taste buds. You can order your martini shaken not stirred, but you can get that anywhere; at the Library Bar the beer list is what you want to go for. Anything from a nice Russian Stout to a sweet smokey lager is what you find here. Ladies if beer isn't your "thing" don't fret, they have a nice Apple Ale that is sure to change your mind.
Once you decided on your drink for the moment you can slip into one of the many comfortable spots they have set up...even a semi private room with plush velvet seating. The music is up to you since they have set up an amazing juke box with an nice selection that will suit all tastes.
Having been there on several different nights and times, I can say that it is always a new and great experience. If you're lucky you'll even get to meet one of the owners, who is too hot for words!
For me, it keeps me coming back for more, and more, and more.
- Pros: Major Thumbs Up!!!!
GREAT BARTENDERS GREAT PLACE
by collintrigger
I went here with a friend on feb 16 (fri) and had a rockin time. I heard all about this place and had to come see for myself. It is unlike any other bar in town. The bartenders were good looking and helpful when it came to choosing my ale. It got really crowded and everyone seemed to be having a good time. I highly rec. this place it's a nice escape from the hollywood bar scene.
