I went to Studio DNA last week and had an appointment with Summer. She was absolutely amazing. I walked in almost in tears about how horrible and uneven my hair looked after going to three different places in Westwood. She assured me that my hair would look great after it was ...it looked amazing! She did exactly what I asked her too and knew what would look on me. She also fixed the highlights in my hair to a beautiful brown (and I get at least a complement a day about the color of the highlights) In addition, she was so cool and friendly, I would hang out with her outside of the salon anytime. She is a level 2 and worked previously at other celebrity salons. She charges about half as much than the stylists at Christophe and other trendy and high-end salons but she gives the same, if not better, cuts and color. SHE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING...you won't leave unhappy!

Hands down, I have never had a bad situation handled so professionally. I read the reviews on Citysearch so I decided to try this salon. I wasn't happy with the cut I got from my stylist they recommended, though the cut was good, it was not what I was looking for. I expressed my concerns and after discussion my dissatisfaction she brought the owner over to help. Aubrey ended up fitting me in between his clients and re-cutting my hair which ended up looking amazing! Not only did he fit me in, he colored the back of my hair for free just so the cut would look right. Aubrey and the salon during this whole process made me feel very comfortable in a very uncomfortable situation. Not only do I love my hair but the professionalism and friendly atmosphere are the best I have every experienced! Run don't walk to this salon - you won't be dissappointed!

Pros: Great service, staff, pricing, atmosphere

Cons: zero

After two years of bouncing around from one stylist's chair to another, the search is over. I feel like I went from "blah" to"best tressed" all thanks to Tina at DNA. When I moved here 2 yrs ago, I thought it would be a cinch to find a great hair stylist, however, I was wrong. I am quite picky about my straight, fine hair. Mainly because I have had so many people chop it into styles that were either difficult to maintain or just completely boring. When I arrived a half hour early, Tina was free and sat me down right away. I told her what I wanted and she LISTENED and translated my needs into a cut and style that would work with my criteria, hair type and lifestyle. After she shampooed me and applied a scalp treatment (complimentary at the moment) she went about cutting. Once she was done cutting it wet, she blew it out and it looked fabulous. At this point, she went in and finished it off, lightly layering and perfecting the cut ( usually when other stylists have done this, they went too far) When she was done it was perfection! When she added product, she made sure to add only a small amount AND made sure it wasn't a shiny product as they often make dark, fine hair look greasy. How many salons have I raced home from to wash my heavily weighed down and greasy looking hair that was just washed?! When it was all done, I was given little gift bag with a brush and sent on my way. All in all, a wonderful experience. I will be going back for highlights, to go from fabulously tressed to uber-fabulously tressed! ps...All this and the cut was affordable, can it get any better?!

Pros: Cool interior, gorgeous bathroom, skill, friendy staff, a great salon w/out snobbery and pretense

Cons: NONE!

The search is over. After enduring many a stylist and their lack of listening skills, I made an appointment at Studio DNA. They paired me up with Christi and I think I'm gonna keep her. Where should I begin? Relaxing environment? Check. Stylist is fun to chat with? Check. Great cut? Check. Affordable? Charge it! Done. I cannot tell you how many times I've come home and searched for my hat collection to cover up the mess someone has made. Christi and I discussed what I wanted, went over a few photos and got to work. She did all the work that is. I just got to hang out and marvel at her skills. Most importantly, she checked in from time to time to make sure I was feeling good about where she was taking my style. The staff at Studio DNA is friendly, and to top it off, they have coffee brought over from Funnel Mill a few doors down. Zing! Thank you Christi!

I went to Studio DNA for the first time and had Christi do my highlights. I love love love the results! She was very attentive and sweet. They have some free parking spaces underneath, which is helpful and the salon is not crowded. Overall, it was a great experience and reasonably priced for the gorgeous results that I got, I am definitely making this my new salon.

Pros: parking, great service, great results

Cons: none I could see

I have walked past this salon for the last few months, and have always wanted to walk in. Its a beautiful space with friendly faces.i walked in and had Christi cut my hair. She is knowledgable and friendly, and she gave me the best haircut and head massage i have ever had. They have free underground parking and there was plenty of street parking. They have an amazing coffee bar with candy and such a nice positive vibe. It is most definitely the best hair salon i have ever been in. It felt like Beverly Hills in Santa Monica.

Pros: best haircut experience

Cons: none

Regarding my first haircut/style at Studio DNA on July 31st (or was it August 1st?), what can I say but that I'm incredibly delighted with my haircut by Angel!! She's very attentive, sincere, and professional. She seems to have a good grasp of the hairstyle you are going for when you describe it to her - even without pictures. In fact, she gave me the exact hairstyle I wanted - I was so pleased, especially considering that I've had bad experiences at other salons. I enjoyed the scalp massage while my hair was shampooed and really appreciated the fact that she took great care and time cutting my hair. I'll definitely go back to Angel again. By the way, the salon is clean, hip, and modern, and is staffed by individuals who seem open, warm and professional. And... they have refreshments!

Pros: Service

Cons: May need to bring some change for street parking

I met Tina at a Sample sale. She was there promoting the new salon. I had a consult and booked an appt for the very next day! I'm very picky about my hair. Especially my highlights! She gave me an amazing cut that's short, flirty, and fun! She honestly gave me the best coloring I've ever had. I have naturally dark hair and went a lot lighter! I didn't look fake, the colors were just what I wanted and they didn't look brassy when it faded. I get compliments all the time on my hair and always direct them to Tina. Everyone is professional and fun. I love the atmosphere there! Every age group is there and they all seem to leave with a smile on their faces.

Pros: Great staff, fair pricing, lively atmosphere, artistic talent

Cons: street parking

hey there, D and A - your new home is fantastic. Citysearch crew - Aubrey, Tina, Angel & crew are consummate professionals. I've personally been seeing Aubrey for years now. I have thin hair and get a short cut - sounds easy, right? Nope - that's some master level stuff to do it right - scissor over comb all the way. No uneven lines from clippers for me! The salon has an uber cool vibe yet manages to stay welcoming and not intimidating. The products, art, and jewelry from South Africa is not only gorgeous and unique - it manages to reflect socially responsible business practices too! Studio DNA embodies "hair stylist" as a career professional invested in you looking your best! The result is a welcoming space for its clients and staff - you'll find their enthusiasm is contagious! Give them a try...I think you'll be pleasantly rewarded.

Pros: all the staff, skill level, atmosphere, space

Cons: none for me

So, I got my hair done again with Tina. I say again because I go back to Tina for a reason - she listens, she consults and she does a great job. On this session she seemed really sad. I asked her what was up and she finally told me about a review that she received here. She mostly shluffed it off, but I had to see for myself because I'm loyal that way. After reading Alex' review, I had to create an account so I can respond. I have no idea who he/she is, but he/she is describing the wrong person. I also think he/she is kinda rude. It is my feeling that part of the review should be about how the business tried to fix the issue. From what I can tell, Alex decided to just take a swipe at one of the nicest people I know. So, Alex, I'm sorry you don't like your hair, but I'm more sorry that you dealt with it in such a mean way.

Pros: The place keeps looking better, Tina, the shopping

Cons: Hmmm - sometimes the chocolates are gone
