Overrated!

by Chris21

We decided to check this place out after my cousins rave reviews. Well, it was OVERRATED!!! nothing special about the pizza, maybe only the price. Disappointing.

  • Cons: long wait even with reservation, food is overpriced

Valet Parking Gotcha

by CarlosG

The valet parkers put a big ding in my lower rear fender. When I got the car back there was very limited visibility as it was dark and foggy, and I would have had to be on my hands and knees with a flashlight to find the damage so I didn't see it until later when I walked up to my car in daylight.

They said I had no claim because it is posted that you have to file a claim while the car is stil on their property. What a perfect gotcha. So they can and WILL do anything to your car and then, of course, deny it, they won't even look at your car or investigate in any way, and your're screwed.

The managers, when called, said the valet people were wonderful and would take care of everything, but of course they took care of nothing and blew me off. So when I called back the manager apologized and offered me something like a free dessert. Great. A free dessert that costs me $1,500. Some deal.

Stay away from Osteria Mozza until they stand up to their responsibilities and hire a valet company that actually cares about the service they provide.

  • Pros: Decent Food
  • Cons: Valet Parking Hijinks

Excellent

by labz

I have been there twice now. The food and service are impeccable. Reservations are tough, but there's seating at the bar and you'll be well taken care of.

  • Pros: Food, Service, Wine List

very slow service

by yoohoo12

We had reservationss for noon and were seated after about 4 other parties who were waiting for the doors to open. We sat a while before our order was taken, then sat a while more before our appetizers arrived. Our meal finally was served at 1:00. I know it's difficult for restaurants to serve everyone promptly when parties are seated within a few minutes of each other, but we were not happy. Fortunately we weren't in a rush but waiting that long for food that was good but not all that special made for a disappointing experience.

  • Pros: Food was pretty good, though not exceptional
  • Cons: Slow service, very loud

Completely unimpressed

by lizdennery

On my third visit to Pizzeria Mozza in the past year, I was incredibly unimpressed with the staff. Clearly, no one here has been schooled in customer service and civility. From the valet, to the maitre d's to the bartender, everyone seemed more concerned with how fast they could get you in and out than with the overall customer experience.

The food is good (but not outstanding - and there are many better picks in LA), it's not worth the attitude or lack of graciousness from the staff. I could recommend at least ten spots in LA that are defintely worth your time and money. Don't waste it at Pizzeria Mozza. It's overcrowded, overrated, and full of tourists who think they're on to something hip. About a year too late.

  • Pros: The food is good
  • Cons: Attitude and lack of true dining experience

what is up with this reservation policy ...?

by martinilvr

How many of you have gotten this restaurants "we dont have any reservations available except 5pm and 10pm?" ... well I can say I have gotten this everytime I have called. I call horse pucky. I am in this business and know that there is not any way this restaurant is COMPLETELY reserved months in advance. I wish them luck with their 15 minutes and hope they have a plan beyond this common "lets pretend we are oh so popular" restaurant game. This is only going to work for them for so long. These New Yorkers will soon learn that Los Angelinos have a long memory.

  • Pros: wouldnt know ... they dont have any reservations available
  • Cons: see pros

The best meal I have had in Los Angeles or anywhere in a long time.

by jraposa

The best meal I have had in Los Angeles or anywhere in a long time.

I had a friend in town visiting and we decided without notice to try Mozza. I called up and they could seat us at a table, but when we showed up we asked if we could sit at the Mozzarella bar. Great choice. The staff including the cook behind the counter was great. We ordered at our own pace splitting different courses.

A great night that was fairly priced.

Wonderful Experience

by HTinHB

We had a wonderful dinner at Osteria Mozza last night. Everything went perfectly!

Our waitress (Lynn) reminded me of something I had not seen in a long time -namely -how great it is to have a professional wait on us. So often these days, restaurants overlook the importance of the 'experience' and hire the wrong staff. Osteria Mozza clearly figured that out!

The food was amazing! The service was amazing!

It just doesn't get much better than this place. Needless to say, we will be back.
