This is NOT a Yoga Environment
by Honeyhoney at Citysearch
If you want a workout, come to Bodies in Motion for the yoga classes. You will get some exercise, but you won't get a rejuvenating, blissful, peaceful yoga experience. I liked the room where the class was held. It was well ventilated, roomy, clean and nice. The instructors (I attended two different classes) were adequate. However, they didn't give individual interaction and correction. They didn't move around the room at all. They didn't adjust students. The savasana was quite disappointing! It was impossible to reach a peaceful state with HORRIBLE violent rap music blasting in the background from the gym. I RAN out of there after class and I will NEVER return.
- Pros: Location, Price, Class Times
- Cons: Completely Disruptive Environment
not a good long-term gym
by caravaggista at Citysearch
so, today i joined another gym - after being a member here for more than four years. initially, i joined this gym because of the classes. as the months and years progressed - the schedules became shorter and shorter. as of lately - due to school scheduling - i find that there are no classes that fit my needs. (the evening yoga classes occur at the same time as many of the boxing classes). i feel that for a gym to truly be beneficial, a variety of classes should be offered back to back. i should be able to compliment a cardio class with a yoga/pilates or other strength training class - for optimal results. yes, with any gym (as the previous rater stated) one will see results. but, for the results to continue - there must be variety and constant challenges. (also stopped taking the classes here, because they never varied after months on end. the instructors should teach at the highest level and cater to the regulars).
- Pros: parking
- Cons: classes
Great Gym with newer equipment!
by smithy11 at Citysearch
I finally found a gym that has all of the equipment I need without huge crowds and intimidating members. The Northridge staff has been very helpful with new programs and ideas. The best part is that I'm making progress like never before. They have everything I need. There's all of the equipment that you could ask for here. More classes than anywhere. MBIM gives me personalized attention and an individualized fitness program for me to achieve my greatest potential. This location has a clean, easy atmosphere and great music that plays during your workout. I love it!
- Pros: Easy to Park, Clean Freindly Atmosphere!
