Wasabi Ketchup!

by Pandarus84 at Citysearch

The food was great and the wasabi ketchup is to die for! However, the lighting is dark (I prefer to see my food) and the wait staff wasn't great. But if you want good food I highly recommend it!

  • Pros: The Threesome!
  • Cons: Lighting

Don't let the name fool you, their ketchup tastes bad too!

by adkim77 at Citysearch

If you watched the Hills and thought of going to Ketchup because of Heidi & Spencer, THINK AGAIN! My boyfriend and I decided to have dinner at Ketchup since its right down the street and i remembered seeing it on an episode of the HIlls.

The waitress was nice, so was the server, HOWEVER, the food was very bland, the portion sizes were VERY small (the pork loin i ordered was 4-5 oz, but they hid the small size with LOTS of side garnishes - 3 HUGE friend green tomatoes and extra sides that were tasteless) and their ketchup mixes are not worth spending any money on and it was VERY OVER PRICED. I would highly recommend walking a few blocks over to BLT Steak for nice gourmet food with real portion sizes and quality food OR go to Cravings..they have good food to thats worth paying for!

!

  • Pros: Nice location
  • Cons: Food is VERY bland, and the decor is tacky

The Atmosphere is Just As Good As the Food

by PG1 at Citysearch

I love Ketchup! I've been there twice. It's regular American food made more higher class. It has a nice lounge area and the decor of the place always makes me happy when I'm in there. I agree with another reviewer stating it's hip and trendy. I've never had a complaint

  • Pros: Food, drinks, and decor

Worst meal and ambiance in town

by jeannek at Citysearch

I swear the other reviews must be plants because I had such a horrible experience. The hostess was nice, but the rest of the staff was horrible.

We were looking for a place for my daughter's sweet 16. We read some good reviews, but I should have looked at more.

When the waiter refilled our water glasses, there were black flecks floating. When I pointed these out, he took two of our glasses and left the room. When he came back, he definitely had an attitude. My daughters friends and I all joked that we thought he would do something to our food.

Then the food came - I ordered a chicken caesar salad. The lettuce was brown and wilted and the chicken was flavorless. My daughter and friends all got grilled cheese sandwiches and fries. The fries were also flavorless.

$65 for the worst meal I've ever had in LA. Don't walk; run to another restaurant. It isn't worth it.

Hip and trendy

by Mikahla at Citysearch

Upon coming in for our reservation last saturday, we were happily greeted at the entrance by two very attractive hostesses where we were asked to head upstairs to wait in the lounge for our table. To our surprise, we were seated very promptly, especially considering the size of the restaurant compared to the large number of people that were there. Our server was at the table as soon as we sat down, and our food following not too long behind. The food itself was great, with the kitchen mastering the technique of putting their own creative, and very interesting, spin on what seems to be simple comfort food. The atmosphere itself was very hip and trendy, with a surprisingly wide age range. The restaurant seems to be great for all ages, and although its a great place to start before going out on a Friday or Saturday night, it's definitely a place everyone will enjoy,

  • Pros: Great atmosphere, great food

Love it!!!

by camdentown at Citysearch

It's hip, trendy & fabulous but none of the waiters have an attitude! In fact the service there has always been so friendly , helpful & informative. I took some friends that were visiting from out of town a few nights ago, it was my fifth visit & as always a great experience. The pork ribs are terrific & I LOVE the seabass. They have some wonderful martini specials (love the summer lovin') & a unique huge open window overlooking Sunset Blvd. Love it!!!

  • Pros: fun, great food
  • Cons: none

GREAT atmosphere to match great food

by vinochick at Citysearch

This is a great place to hang out with your friends or to take a date! Overlooking Sunset Blvd. provides much to talk about and the staff was nothing but friendly and entertaining. The night was spiced up by a pretty girl comig to our table with a free martini sample, we loved that! The food was excellent....starting out with mini tacos that were awesome, followed by the flavorful short rib that was so tender you could cut it with a fork. Then we ended the night with an ice cream sandiwch on homemade choc. chip cookies, to die for! I will definitely be back!

  • Pros: large portions

Food was delicious!

Food was well worth the wait. My wife ordered Shake and Bake Chicken, and I ordered this delicious Short Rib Entree. The two Ice Cream Sandwiches for dessert were delicious.

Didn't Get Past the Lame Hostess

by Lolathecat at Citysearch

I cannot believe how poorly I was treated by the staff, in particular the hostess. I had my girlfriends in from out of town and I wanted to show them the "big city" so I took them there. I was so embarrassed! I had reservations for 8:30, we arrived at 8:15 and the rude hostess said she did not see our reservations, treated me like I was lying to her and trying to pull one over on her. She said "sorry", come back at 10 and maybe you can get in and then diverted her eyes. I am totally understanding, if her "sorry" would have had a smidgen of genuineness I would have been ok with it.....but it didn't. I hear the food is a notch below Denny's so it's a good thing in the end we didn't eat there.

  • Pros: Can't Find One
  • Cons: Hostesses

Siddity!

by vivaciousdivah at Citysearch

Ketchup is mad kool except on 50% OFF SUNDAYS!! In exception to any other day, on Sundays you betta set a reservation in advance and for 6pm (right when they open). That's if you want food...otherwise you will be ordering french fries and grilled chicken breast...and be enjoying the view not the food LOL. I totally recommend the "Land" section of the menu...steak or short ribs. The threesome app is good as well.
