I can only echo all the other great reviews of Irene and her cutting abilities. Usually I get a haircut with the expectation to not like it until it grows on me in a couple of days, but not with Irene. I was nervous by her unique and new way of cutting my fine, often lifeless, hair, but I walked out of the smiling at my wonderful haircut - no waiting necessary. To add, conversation is not awkward or contrived with Irene. She is a philanthropist and a joy.

Pros: Understands hair types and how to cut them

Cons: No haircut in LA is cheap - the price will go up in later visits, to be expected

Sick of trying out expensive salons only to wind up with some overly stylized or chunky cut no matter what I request, or to have my stylist relocate, I have found Irene. She stays in one place, keeps her clients forever (while I was in the chair, regulars were coming in begging to be squeezed in), is reasonably priced, has tons of free parking. It's also nice to find someone I can talk to easily, without it feeling forced. She has a maternal vibe and treats you not like a haircut, but like your hair is now her baby, and she will take care of it for years to come. She is far more concerned with the long term, which is why she doesn't nickel and dime you - after all she did to my hair, I was cringing at how the charges were probably racking up, but it ended up costing exactly what she said on the phone for a basic cut and half head of highlights (by the way, these are all you need, the way she does them). Unbelievable! Besides all of that peripheral stuff - my hair looks better than the women in the magazine I was reading in the waiting area. Her highlighting and layering technique are not to be sneezed at - it looks like I was born with naturally beautiful hair, rather than that I paid a lot of money to approximate nice hair. She specializes in natural color and should. My hair hasn't been this soft or pretty since I was a kid. I will obviously be back.

I have wavey hair and Irene's cuts bring out the natural swing of my hair. You know how you usually go to a stylist and walk away thinking that in 2 wks it will be the right length? Well, you walk away from Irene with it's already at the perfect length - I have never felt that the style needs "time." Irene is generous in many ways - I still color my own hair - she always gives me advice on the best formula for the correct color - she is not proprietary about her knowledge. She recommends products to make the shine and bounce come out - moisturizers that are fantastic and don't take your whole paycheck! Irene is caring, generous, energetic, and a good listener in discovering what the look is that you want - that's priceless!

Pros: You will never wait for your appointment. She is ON TIME.

The owner Irene is actually a difficult woman, and gave me a hard time. It all depends on her mood. I had been a customer for a while but I will not go back anymore.

This was my first time with Irene. With all the great reviews I read on Citysearch, it was hard not to resist trying it out myself. And I have to say, all the positive responses are well deserved. Irene was fantastic! She is personable and passionate about her work. She really listened to what I wanted in a hairstyle and provided great tips on how to maintain it. I was very happy with the end result and will definitely go back. I love my new haircut!

Pros: Hairstylist expertist, affordabble, free parking

I really liked Irene!!! She gave me a very nice hair cut, and good advice on how to care for my hair. She is very personable, and she actually listened to what I wanted without trying to pressure me into getting more expensive treatments (unlike other salons). I am sure I will go back to see her, and next time I may even try some highlights... I highly recommend her to anyone who wants a good hair cut-- someone looking for quality rather than the "bells and whistles" of some of the fancier salons.

Pros: free parking, nice surrounding little shops

I highly recommend Irene. She did a great job coloring my hair. She also listened sincerely to all of my questions about color tints, highlights, and covering gray. She is very knowledgable and makes recommendations personalized for you, but will also work with you on what you want. I'm excited about finding a stylist so caring and personable, so I'll definitely be returning for more appointments with her!

Irene is very down to earth, with a charming personality, and specially a good listener. She took the time to answer all my questions and gave me an amazing hair cut. My hair feels so healthy and shiny. I can't wait for her to color my hair.........

I have been going to Irene for over 4 years now and I cannot imagine ever having anyone else cut my hair. She does a great job in handling men's hair with both scissors and razors. As my hair style has changed over the past few years, I have yet to encounter any style that Irene can't do. In addition, Irene is an amazingly warm and friendly person who is also extremely accomodating.

Irene LISTENS! I don't know how many stylists I would ask to make my blonde look natural, only to have chunks and stripes. Not Irene. She not only made it look like it grew out of my head naturally golden, but tamed my stubborn hair into a fun and swingy style that even my persnickety boyfriend likes. It's even easy to do myself. Better yet, she could charge so much more than she does. Last visit, she even talked me out of adding an extra process - I didn't need it, but would have easily been talked into it. Honesty like that is hard to find in the styling world. Choose Irene for her talent, wisdom and value. You'll come back for her cheery personality!

Pros: best cut, style and color

Cons: NONE!
