LA Fluff trying to be something it is not.
by dzagat
It is a shame. The food use to be o.k. The quality is slipping and is very expensive. They overcharge you sometimes so check your bill? Dine in is cramped and they have no TV's. What kind of real pizzeria has no TV's to watch the game. I was in there and the guy manager was dancing around to Britney Spears! In New York that would fetch you a beating. Do yourself a favor and go to your better options in LA. Joes, Mulberry etc.
- Pros: Good Meatballs
- Cons: Annoying Manager (bald guy) food is inconsistent.
This is not NY pizza
by CSMobileUser
Also ended up there because so many people said it is flgreat NY pizza. Unfortunately, was disappointed. The reviewers should qualify if they lived in NY at least 3years or more. This seems to appeal to non-new yorkers who don't know much about pizza. The dough looks good; but lacks substance and taste. Ingredients are not good quality. I am a transplant; been in LA over 20 years; frequently travel to NY; other than Mulberry St pizza (which is at best a B- by NY standards LA has no good pizza; still hopeful for the future though.
overrated and too expensive

I got cheese slices because I wasn't going to spend $16.50 on pizza I've never tried before. The sauce was great but I don't like burnt crust. I don't like crunchy pizza especially burnt ones. I prefer soft chewy crust with more sauce and more cheese. It just isn't worth what their asking for
- Pros: great sauce
- Cons: very expensive, hard crust
Great Slice
by troywarkentin
This is by far the best slice in LA. Great toppings, the best quality cheese, and a perfect crust. Get the plain cheese or the white pie, crazy good stuff.
- Pros: Toppings, Cheese, Crust
- Cons: Makes me fat
I'm eating it right now

Seriously, I'm in front of my computer eating Vito's pizza right now. Friggin delicious. I also got a salad on the side and the vegetables are very fresh, which isn't always the case at pizza joints. I'd recommend Vito's to anyone looking for a real pizza in LA, particularly as most East Coast transplants know how hard it is to find good pizza out here. Vito's is it.
- Pros: Friggin Delicious
- Cons: n/a
Excellent Pizza

Ooh man! this pizza is huge and the TASTE is Huge too! Very good best I have had in the WEHO area yet! only negative is it is a little pricey! You better have a friend to share it with, also the calzone's are GREAT too but ask for extra sauce! I recommend give it a try next time instead of pizza hut you will be pleased!
- Pros: Good PIZZA!!!!
- Cons: Costy $$
New York PIzza my eye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by bronxjeannie
I ate at this joint after reading the reviews in CitySearch.
Being born & raised in New York City, I know a little something about New York Pizza. I decided to go there after my LA spot Albano's closed. This pizza could not even hold a candle to NYC pizza. I asked for extra sauce on the pizza and these knuckleheads poured it on top...I mean come on....who is making these pizzas?
The crust was dry, flavorless, no chew to it at all which is the best part of a New York slice, a nice thin chewy crust. I will never eat there again and if I'm ever in the mood for real New York pizza.....I'll just buy me a ticket and fly back home. For those of you who claim this pizza is authentic, you must have not have any taste buds or appreciate the true texture of a New York slice. Where in the hell have you been eating Sbarro? What added insult to injury is that 1 large Pepperoni & 3 cokes was 28.00. Are you friggin kidding me???
- Pros: No pros
- Cons: horrible, horrible pizza
You MUST BE KIDDING ME!

Well, after reading the reviews here, I decided to give Vito's Pizza a try. I actually wanted a Calzone but Vito's oven was too full and they couldn't make me a Calzone. I guess that would have taken some space away that Vito needed for it's $28.00 XL (18 inch) pizza. I am sorry but the pizza was very average for $28. I usually spend a lot of money on food in places such as Katana on Sunset, Vice Roy, (Now the) BLT on Sunset and many other expensive restaurants so the problem is not the $28 for a pizza but the quality of the pizza that you get for the money. "you get what you pay for" but not in this place. The pizza is average and I would probably go to the other little places to get good pizza.
- Pros: Convinient location
- Cons: Expensive for average quality
A GEM!

One of my FAVORITE restaurants in LA, if not my ultimate favorite. Not only is the food INCREDIBLE, the people that work there are AMAZING. Vito (THE Vito from Vito's Pizza) is there most nights behind the counter w/ a huge smile. This is how food is supposed to be eaten. Cooked fresh daily. The pizza is to die for, and don't even get me started on the pasta dishes. The pesto penne and the baked ziti...>WOW!
You have to try this. Eat it. Love it.
- Pros: EVERYTHING, from the food to the available parking to the people and then back to the food!
- Cons: nothing i can complain about.
my favorite in LA so far
by jroots78
good pizza. pasta dishes are good also and I know they make a variety of good meal's. I am a transplant from NJ (which I hear vito is also) I I know my fair share of good pizza and italian joints and VITO can definitely hang with them if he was out east.
i love the bread also
- Pros: great NY pizza in LA
- Cons: it is a little pricey , i have had trouble parking in the mall when busy.
