Incredible Service
by valeriemarks77
Our food came out on time and was prepared just right. I would recommend this place to a hungry person the portions are huge! For the music,,,I would recommend jazz or house and the people were cool.
Great Brunch

I've only gone here for brunch and it is the best Indian buffet in Los Angeles. Instead of cold food in a line up, this is elegant and refined cuisine. Highly recommended. Looking forward to trying it for dinner.
beautiful night out !!!

my first time in tanzore/gaylord I have to say I was really blown away by the quality of food, ambiance and service. the restaurant is just absolutely gorgeous. the most modern and swanky looking eatery i have come across and I have been to nice restaurants all over the world . for real connoisseurs of indian food this is the place to be. if u think all indian restaurants are created equal think again !!! I grew up in a restaurant family, dad was an incredibly talented chef and mom's food was always to die for ( i know everyone thinks their moms food is amazing, but my moms cooking was particularly amazing) I have visited the place 4-5 times now to get a real feel for the place, thinking i might find something to gripe about but, visit after visit I am amazed at the quality of food. from the the less traditional "crab tikki" ( an indian modern twist on the crab cake) to the more traditional chicken tikka makhni ( boneless peices of chicken breast cooked in creamy, ridiculosly awesome tomatoey sauce) so give the pastas and the steaks a rest and give this place a try... you will thank me ; )
- Pros: great great food, sensual ambiance
- Cons: a bit crowded
This restaurant definitely does NOT deserve your business

Decided to try this restaurant last night for our son's 30th birthday. We were a party of six. We had one beer each, Chicken tandoor (2 small pieces),
Scallops, (3 to be precise) on top of white rice,
Lamb curry ( about 5 small pieces)
Chicken Tikka ( see above)
Chicken Masala (see above)
Vegetable platter, (adequate)
It had been our intent to order six main courses and "share".
As you can see barring another "Loaves and Fishes"event, sharing was difficult.
Total bill $260.00!!!!
To add insult to injury, one of the staff, in full view of us ordered a waiter to "hurry us up" because he wanted the table. I sought out the manager and pointed out the "rudeness and unprofessionalism" of his staff and received NOT ONE WORD OF APOLOGY!
At that point we had been at the table for approximately one hour.
Admittedly we are not the coiffured, "nipped and tucked" and lifted Beverley Hills crowd but on a field-trip from the suburbs (gasp!!!!)------Thousand Oaks.
Were we rowdy, loud , obnoxious? No, actually our table consisting of A PhD, two Doctoral Candidates, a Post Grad at UCLA a health professional and a law enforcement officer, We were truly the quietest in the place.
I originally come from Birmingham UK, and better Indian food can be had at any corner Indian restaurant for less than the cost of a beer at Tanzore ( $10.00 for Kingfisher)
Don't go to this restaurant, I know you can do better!
- Pros: Presentation.
- Cons: Meager portions, inflated prices, rude manager .
Not the greatest

I would not recommend this place. Gnat flying around on table sat on lassi. Rude indian waiter.
We had a great time!

We had a great time at Tanzore on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is beautiful with very pretty accents and gorgeous colors. The food was delicious... very flavorful! I ordered the Tandoori Tiger Prawns as an appetizer and the Tandoori Chicken as my entree. They were very tasty. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try something different at a very pretty restaurant! =)
- Pros: Great Food! Beautiful Restaurant!
- Cons: Can be a little pricey $$$
Fantastic Dining Experience!

Just had dinner last night at Tanzore and has a wonderful experience. Though the restaurant was fairly busy the service, the food and the atmosphere were first rate. Seared tuna and avocado - yum! salmon - yum! We love the lounge too.
- Pros: Delicious food; great service
- Cons: None

I went to Sunday brunch with friends and was disappointed. There was no salad buffet with a choice of main courses and one of 6 desserts as shown on their website. Instead, there was a buffet. Strike one. The dishes at the buffet were sometimes empty. Strike two. When we got up to get seconds, our dirty plates weren't removed. Strike three. You're only supposed to get three strikes, right?
The food in the buffet was good though the chicken was dry.
Then, there's an 18% gratuity for a party of six. For self serve? Strike four. When we tried to round down by 19 cents per person and pay 150$ (25 each) instead of the 151.18 on the bill, the waitress told us we were short. Strike five. After we paid and we sat around talking in a mostly empty restaurant she disappeared. Never asked if we'd like water more water or anything. During the meal she never asked how everything was, whether we'd like anything else. Strike six.
As I left I spoke with the manager about the 18% gratuity being excessive and about the waitress not bringing us water after we paid, and about her dinking us for a buck. Although he thanked me for my input, all he could manage to say was that the 18% is policy. Strike seven.
Needless to say, if someone suggests to me that we go to this place I'll say that I'd rather go elsewhere.
- Pros: Indian food
- Cons: Service, price
No Wonder they are considered to be a TOP LA Restaurant by Angeleno & LA Magazine...
by starvinggirl
I wonder if people expect this place to be the typical all you can eat Indian buffet for $12. Well this is not that type of Indian Restaurant. This place is the BEST INDIAN restaurant and most beautiful restaurant I have ever seen. We went with a bunch of friends last weekend to celebrate my boyfriends birthday, ordered drinks at the bar and then sat down for dinner. We all ordered something different is was great- The Calamari was delicious and then I ordered the Lamb Chops, simply the best that I have ever had. Perfectly spiced and flavored. Lets not mention the awesome Chocholate cake...yummmmy! The lounge had these great fashion videos and bollywood songs playing...fun to watch and something different for a change. While the music was eclectic and upbeat but enjoyable. At least we could all have a conversation. They told us about this new "Holy Cow" Veg menu which I think is fantastic since my mom is veg..I will definitely come back to Tanzore.
- Pros: Valet Service, Great music, awesome ambience, good for groups
- Cons: love it and will be a repeat customer
