Sweet all around place

by LAfoodGuy at Citysearch

Great little secret. Hopefully it maintains its cozy, warm atmosphere. Great menu with unique and trendy "comfort food." Best deal for your buck is the fish and chips. Huge portion of white fish and a great beer batter. Have heard the man n cheese is also great. Decent liquor prices as well. They have karaokee every other Saturday. Reasonable priced. Give this place a shot!

  • Pros: Great menu, easy to get a seat.
  • Cons: If it's empty it's kinda lonely.

JUST GETS BETTER AND BETTER

by hillsguy at Citysearch

I have been eating here since they opened, and they seem to be constantly making improvements. Went yesterday and found a new menu, with an AMAZING burger selection. Try the Border burger w/ jalepenos and guac. Mac and cheeseballs are not to be missed, and the bannana bread pudding rocks. They have made the weekend nights into more of a bar scene after 9, which is cool. ll nothing like it in the neighborhood, and i will be coming back.

  • Pros: Great neighborhood place. Tasty food. Cheap. Good cocktails.
  • Cons: Service sometimes a bit off.

great happy hour, good, unique dishes

by srschne at Citysearch

My girlfriend and I live in the neighborhood and we discovered this place about 2 months ago. The happy hour is awesome: very low key, cheap drinks, good reduced-price munchies. The southwest quesadilla is awesome, the carne asada tacos are good, the hamburger egg rolls are tasty and different. One of the better upscalish-feeling yet casual joints around. Highly recommended.

  • Pros: great happy hour specials
  • Cons: usually empty, a bit dead inside

Decent Food, Prices Not Too Shabby

by rae92583 at Citysearch

After driving past this place, me & a group of friends decided to give it a try. Getting a table for 8 on Saturday the day of was really easy, so really no need to plan to go here that far in advance. That being said, it was a great place for groups of 6-10. The ambience is pretty modern (furnished by Ikea) and pretty relaxed. The taco appetizer looked interesting, however, it rotates ingredients so if it's kind of luck of the draw. We really wanted the seared sashimi & fried onion appetizer, but the waiter informed us that this item is no longer on the menu, which was a huge dissapointment. Instead we had the mac & cheese with bacon and sun dried tomatoes. It was good, but nothing out of this world. We also had a house salad and the Latchino steak. Again, both were good, but nothing I'll be thinking about in a month from now. On the bright side, none of the entrees are over $16 for dinner, so a couple can get out around $50-$60. Also good to know is that they serve breakfast all day. This place has a lot of potential, and the menu items sound delicious, they just need to work on delivering plates that are as tasty as their menu write-up.

  • Pros: Fun group hangout, lots of potential
  • Cons: Food doesn't quite deliver

Comfort food with a twist

by eschuman at Citysearch

Food Court L.A. is far from the typical dining hall experience its name connotes. Instead, the sleek interior lays the ground work for comfort food with a unique twist. Though the entrees are good, this is definitely a place to order several appetizers and share with everyone at the table. The Mac 'n Cheese is a blend of four cheeses, complemented by smoked bacon, and is the perfect way to start the meal. The FC Soft Tacos are made with grilled mahi mahi and a spicy pineapple salsa, but they are so small that I would actually recommend getting two orders. The wait staff is friendly and while the restaurant itself is rather hip, this is a much better lunch joint than dinner destination.

  • Pros: FC Soft Tacos, Sleek Interior

Terrible Food

by jimmyh1 at Citysearch

I never write reviews about restaurants, but this one is so bad I just had to in order to spare anyone else from the experience.

We went once when it opened and the food was awful. But the people are so nice and it is close to where we live so we decided to try it one more time hoping they had worked out the kinks. Of 4 people at our table, only 1 was able to eat more than a few bites.

The pork chop sounds great on the menu. Then when it arrives you are served a cold hunk of tough pork in a watery red sauce that is supposed to be a kind of BBQ sauce. The fries were the only thing any of us could stomach.

The people that work there are super nice. But the space is incredibly loud and the food is some of the worst I've ever had.

  • Pros: Friendly staff
  • Cons: Food, noise

COol little place

by rtnla at Citysearch

Nice place, great for brunch or a date. The only thing I didn't like were the gnats flying around. It was quite annoying. Staff was very nice, friendly and attentive.

  • Pros: Cool place, good food, friendly staff
  • Cons: gnats!

Best place for your Saturday's hang-over!

by peterseeks at Citysearch

Last Saturday my girlfriend and I woke up so hangover and we both decided to get together with some friends for breakfast and hopefully a descent Bloody Mary. Someone told us about this new place that apparently have just opened, called Food Court. At first we thought it would be more like a New York cafeteria type or something, but it's actually a very cozy restaurant with a full bar and we probably had the best Bloody Mary of our lives, as we all agreed. The service was great and the Breakfast Burrito was delicious but way too small. Hopefully they'll work on that. My girlfriend had egg whites and she loved too. It looks like they have great chefs there...Besides the bartender of course, who saved our day :)

  • Pros: Tasty Bloody Mary, Delicious Food
  • Cons: Ugly plants on the tables.

Cobb Salad & Fish n' Chips & Chocolate Caramel Banana Bread Pudding... Oh My!!!

by dvower at Citysearch

this place was great. im still in college and i was able to take my girl out for an extremely fulfilling dinner for under $30. beat that l.a.! we live in the area, and usually walk for our nights out. we had noticed that most of the other eateries are either closed down after lunch or else have a dead vibe. great music got us in, and the food is whats going to keep bringing us back!!! the portions on these plates are great. you definately need to try their bread pudding before the president is out of office!!! keep it up food court!

  • Pros: vibe, taste, dessert
  • Cons: not sure how many people know about this spot

LOUSY ! LOUSY! LOUSY!

by eatsup at Citysearch

What a joke! We watched our food sit on the counter for 20min. while the waiters fought eachother over mistaken orders and forgotten items. The staff seamed like thet were too cool for shcool or something, just a bunch of hipster goof offs that couldn't even take a luch order correctly, a bunch of first times, wanna be somethings. Even better, the food was horrible. Better luck next time. I can't beleive there was any positive response on this restaurant. I typically don't spend a time with reviews , but I was so compelled by my experience to write this one.

  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Everything
