Robotic Lunch

The food is excellent. The foreign bodies in it aren't. Got a quarter inch piece of a screw or metal shaving in my curry. Also a hair. I'm not picky but this is rather pushing it. Won't be ordering from this place again.
- Pros: Great food.
- Cons: You never know what you'll find in it.
Amazing Vegetarian!

My first review on a place that is to die for!!! I am a vegetarian, vegan when I can be .. my boyfriend on the other hand is not! It's always a challenge to find good eats that will meet both of our needs.
I've eaten here a million times and thought I just might be able to pull one over on him because it's that good!!! One night I pulled out the menu and said let's have Thai tonight! After scanning the menu he decided on the Green Curry with "Chicken" ... little did he know ... nor does he still know .. it's not really chicken! He LOVED it. We will forever be fans and keep going back for more!!
- Pros: They deliver and they are fast!
- Cons: Parking in LA is never that great when valet does not exist.
Great Thai, even if you're not a vegetarian!

This little restaurant has such good food! At first I was hesitant because I'm usually not into fake meat but you can barely tell at this place. I even had the "chicken" wings and love them!
- Pros: Food, prices, service
- Cons: Parking, limited seating
Best Thai in 'hood

As a former New Yorker, I've eaten at my share of excellent Thai restaurants. When I moved to LA, I tried a number of Thai restaurants, but wasn't blown away. Which is why I was SO glad to come across Bulan. I've gone there many, many times at this point and have yet to be disappointed. Fake meats can be hit-or-miss, but these are really well prepared. (Favorite dish: spicy fried rice with pepper "steak".) The food is delicious, the service is efficient and courteous, and the atmosphere is casual and cozy. I take all my non-veggie friends there and they rave about it as well. Highly recommended!
At this Melrose Thai eatery formerly known Busaba, the only meat on the menu is made out of vegetable protein.

In Short
Herbivores can at last enjoy the sweet tang of Thai cooking without worrying that any of the "vegetarian" dishes might actually have chicken stock hidden somewhere in the preparation. The owners and chefs have interpreted dishes from throughout Thailand, without incorporating any meat, fish, refined sugars, MSG, or saturated fats. Occasional weekend jazz performances make the spare, elegant dining room even more intimate, but the real focus is on the food; Items like a spicy, tofu lahb salad, vegetarian entrees like garlic-sauteed asparagus, and a variety of rich curries.
