I took two friends visiting from Paris to have drinks in the bar. On our way in, Bruce Jenner was coming out. There was some paparazzi and video cameras rolling. Got my picture taken with Bruce after reminiscing about the University we both attended. The bar was a lot of fun, and there was a really great "vibe". You could see that everyone was really having a good time and we were DROOLING over the food that we could see being consumed in the dining room by a very attractive crowd.

I'm not a huge fan of steak, but this restaurant comes highly reccomended by many LA cityguides so my best friend and I decided to check it out. The service was great, our waitress made some really good suggestions, she was also very attentive throughout our entire dinner. The steak and sides were delicious and the bread is amazing, perfect to hold you over before your meal. The DJ was spinning some great songs all night which made the scene a lot more fun. I would definitely reccomend this resturant to steak lovers or anyone who is looking for a hip restaurant.

  • Pros: Great Service
  • Cons: Noisy

Intent on proving that they've got the chops to make meat-eating not only a matter of taste but a matter of trend, New York's famed One Group (One, Coco de Ville, Tenjune) launched this spendy two-story spot that's ripe for the Hollywood crowd's picking. On any given night, the TMZ set can be seen sliding into the long banquettes beneath a wall installation of tusks. (Don't worry, they're not real--even a carnivorous coop like this has its limits.) Steaks come in three different sizes, a la carte and with choice of sauce, while less meaty options include gigantic shrimp served atop rice crispies that actually snap, crackle and pop.

I had friends visit from out-of-town and they wanted a nice spot to go drink and have a good meal at. The first thing I thought of was STK. I had been here a few times before and everytime I have seen celebrities at the club next door, Coco, or inside eating at the restaurant. I decided to give them the glitzy LA experience. We came on a Saturday around 9PM and the place was PACKED. There was enough room to walk around, but it was a full house that night. They had a DJ spinning some great music in the restaurant and the bar was lively. We were seated about 15-20min later, perfect time to finish a drink and go stuff my face. Everyone ordered some form of steak and I decided to go with the bone-in filet, which is AMAZING! We split sides of truffle fries, mac n cheese, broccolini, spinach, which was more than enough. I also love the bread they give you as a pre-meal snack. We were never rushed throughout the entire meal and our server was very gracious and accommodating. He recommended a lot of the sides we ended up ordering and was a pleasure to deal with. My friends raved about the restaurant and said they wanted to go back the next day if they didn't have to leave. Amazing experience as usual...STK knows what they are doing.

  • Pros: food, sides, ambiance, people
  • Cons: can be loud, busy

We love trying new restaurants. Our friends from Orange County are fussy beef eaters. They haven't liked our last two restaurant choices because we picked lighter faire menus. So I searched for a new (to us) restaurant that had a menu headlining lighter items for us with a strong presence of beef for our friends. We found STK. Our menu choices -> shrimp rice krispies, foiegras french toast w/ green apple - almond brioche - sherry gastrique, snapper w/ponzu - shiitake brown butter, bon e - in rib steak , filet,. Dinner was Fabulous. Desserts were delectable. The beef dishes were cooked perfectly. Snapper, a little salty, but the taste was light and very flavorful. Our only disappointment were that the vegetables are over cooked with too much butter. The service was excellent, attentive, well choreographed. I would rate this restaurant only 4 out of 5 (because of the vegetables). The next time I visit, when I make my reservation, I will request they have vegetables available for blanching at time of ordering. The restaurant ambiance is beautiful, warm lighting, very comfortable cushioned bench seating. The background music was soft enough to have conversation. The crowd, thirties on up. All well dressed, beautiful young ladies and the young men mostly wore sport coats. For the other foodies out there who are familiar with fine restaurants ? I rate STK up there with my other favorite restaurants - Melisse, Le Cachette, Mistral.

I love steak. I typically bbq my own and think i am pretty good at it... pretty great at it actually. But it was raining and I wanted steak so my boys and I went to STK. They had been there before I had not. The food was great. The steak was better than expected and they have some killer side dishes.... speaking of which... the place was filled with hot women. (I came to this conclusion prior to even finishing my first drink.)

I will be back.

  • Pros: ladies and food

It was my friends birthday and we wanted to celebrate somewhere really special. I had heard about STK through a friend who had raved about their experience so i decided to try it. i went in kind of skeptical but was greeted by very freindly hosts who immediatley made me feel comfortable. We all shared a few apps that were all VERY tasty. My favorite was the shrimp rice krispies. We all ordered different entrees and of course i stole a little bit from everyones dish.. it all looked so great and i wanted to try it all! I had the filet which was cooked to perfection! Im a very picky eater so thats saying something. The servers and magaers on duty were all friendly and very helpful. I will definitely be returning wtih mor friends next time!

  • Pros: great food, amazing service
  • Cons: reservations recommended

So my Hollywood friends finally talked me into trading my flip flops for Choos, leaving the beach and trying this restaurant I keep hearing about. I have to say that the food was even better than I expected and our server (I think it was Chad?) was great. My only surprise was the owner. She was friendly (not bright enough to be anything else) but was a bit hard to look at due to her obvious plastic surgery addiction, (is the trout she got her lips from on the menu?) I think she may want to have someone else walking around the customers. Sorry, but it is really scary, everyone in my group was a bit shocked.

The truffle fries were great, as was the service. Oh and the drink menu! I tried some specialty drinks and loved them!

We went to STK for dina-la ($44 for 3 course prix fixe menu). Overall, the service was disappointing and the food was good to average overall.

Service: To begin, the server opened w/ info that the dine-la menu had small portions so we should order sides to supplement. The waiter kept asking if we wanted any sides w/ our appetizers and meal (we added foie gras). Kept asking if we wanted drinks or wine. One of us wasn't even 3/4 done w/ the filet when the desserts started coming out! Then, at the end, the manager came over and said we had to leave b/c we had occupied the table for too long (we were there 2 hours).

Food: Mac&cheese-nothing special; Truffle fries-good, but nothing extraordinary; Filet w fois gras - very tasty, the 6 oz really filled us up; Snapper- very delicious, well cooked and tender, not fishy; Chocolate tart - awful, w/ terrible crust and runny ganache?; Blod orange brulee - different, but ok; Ginger cake - i can make better.

For parties of 6 or more, 20% gratuity is added on (hence the pushy sales of extras). Most reviews for STK are very positive, but mine was not; perhaps the restaurant was overwhelmed w/ dine-la patrons or just inadvertently gave different service to participants....

  • Pros: beautiful restaurant; good filet; good snapper
  • Cons: terrible desserts; scarce parking; pushy staff; watery lobster bisque

Went her for a birthday dinner. Great atmosphere and service in general. The leather tables look cool, but make you spill drinks. I think I like Maestro's better..

  • Pros: Great atmosphere, Service
