A relaxing weekend at the Oceana hotel
by Kim2010
My Husband & I spent the weekend in Oceana Santa Monica and we enjoyed it very much! The hotel is located right by the beach and the boardwalk. Excellent restaurants, lots of shops, activities, and a very friendly staff. The rooms were beautiful and the view is stunning! The perfect place for a romantic weekend! The pool has a sitting area and a fireplace. I really liked the design of the rooms, lobby & pool. We both agreed that this is the perfect place for a romantic weekend!
We enjoyed our stay and looking forward to our next visit to the hotel.
- Pros: location location location!, beautiful room
Amazing Hotel - Loved it!

The room was gorgeous with a view of the ocean. We got room service our first night and it was better than we expected Super comfortable bed, luxe linens, tv was great. We loved everything about the place and the staff was fantastic and very helpful. I definitely would recommend to anyone who wants luxury by the sea. My husband and I went for an anniversary treat and were treated like royalty.

Best Hotel In Santa Monica and Los Angeles
by leeannebama
The hotel is beautiful with bright colors and a very friendly staff. I stayed here for a week and it is close to many things to do but away from the congestion of the busy parts of Santa Monica. The food at the hotel is delicious and so is the morning coffee. The rooms are very comfortable with lots of high tech touches. I highly recommend the Oceana.

Great staff, above average food, ULTIMATE decor

Let me preface this by saying that I'm only going to comment on the restaurant at the Oceana (although the hotel itself is remarkable). You need to be a VIP, famous or super-rich just to dine there. At entrance, you feel like your just walking into a lounge by the pool, greeted by super-friendly staff. I have been up and down Ventura blvd. with 5 star recommendations for restaurants, and I've had abysmal experiences from them. This place is the real deal. Especially and SURPRISINGLY run by a very young staff including the executive chef, Jeff, who prepared a meal for us that rivals any top LA restaurant. Drinks...including SIGNATURE drinks.... Amazing. From the bartender Miguel.
My advise. Book a room for the ambiance. Stay for the restaurant.
High-cost overhaul converts this intimate luxury hotel into a peaceful oasis across the street from the Pacific Ocean.

In Short
The lemonade-hued lobby hints at the 70 luxe beach house-themed suites, many of which offer equal views of the Pacific Ocean and the kid-friendly swimming pool. Screenwriters finishing their prose and families wanting the Promenade's day-time shopping but not its nightlife come for the posh accommodations. Decked in friendly pastels, the rooms' modern touches like plasma TVs, WiFi and iPod docks mesh with hospitality staples like in-room spa treatments, Italian-linen covered mattresses and L'Occitane bath products.
