LOVE this shop/gallery
by KXF at Citysearch
I just registered with this site in order to add my two cents about Grace Ellay...it's such a WONDERFUL shop. Incredible clothes and art and vibe, I could hang out there all day. In fact, I almost just did. Ramey, the owner, is fabulous. And if you happen to need any tips on stepping up your fashion game (like I always do) she'll take care of you!
Also, here's some breaking news: She's planning to extend their hours very soon, so please everyone make it worth her while...we have to support this rare gem of a place.
Best boutique, art gallery, and hang out spot all rolled into one!!!

I live next door to Grace Ellay and can't help but stop in every time that I see them open. The first thing that will draw you in is the cute unique designer clothes in the racks. Then you notice that they are, well, affordable!! Then you meet Ramey, who is this wonderful, friendly, strong, down-to-earth, honest, and just plain cool woman, who is the owner. The store is often open past 6 on the weekends and you can find Ramey and a few friends or random people that stopped by sitting at the two comfy chairs in the store sipping on a glass of wine. If it seems like it couldn't get any better, this place has some amazing art openings with beautiful art and people who are both fascinating and approachable. This place will captivate you!

Ramey Arnold opened her boutique in the fall of 2007 as a place to spotlight the art and crafts of her friends, family and favorite clothing, bag and jewelry designers. There are naturalistic landscapes by Arkansas-based dad David Linn Arnold, mom Lynda's one-of-a-kind Asian throws, pal Zach Masela's handsewn Refused and Reused leather wallets and guitar pick caddies, brother-in-law Jeremy Szuder's handpainted jewelry boxes, plus luxurious leather Brazilian purses, in addition to exclusive--and super-soft--Man Born En Nest T-shirts.
Say grace for Grace

Die-hard clotheshorse here, and this was quite a find. Lovely unique pieces that you just might see on "Ugly Betty" or "Madmen" and the prices are reasonable, to say the least. Terrific blousey t-shirts for under $60, dresses for under $100, dressier tops for less than $60, too. Don't overlook the handbags from Brazil-hand-tooled leather with beautiful interiors--under $200. Of course there are bags from Italy that you can find at Fred Segal, but why pay those prices and get attitude? Ramey 's friendly knowledgeable style is a welcome change from the boutique snootiness one might encounter elsewhere.
Great stuff all around...
- Pros: would like more pants
- Cons: street parking can be tricky...call for store hours, too

Went to an art opening at this place this weekend and it was GREAT! A really awesome photography show (beautiful pieces) along with a really fun vibe and great crowd (even a couple of celebs!). The owner was really cool and the other people helping out were so nice and helpful. It was neat to see a art gallery/boutique with such interesting stuff co-existing with great art!! Worth the trip to Silverlake for sure.

I haven't purchased gifts anywhere else since this place opened! SERIOUSLY. It offers great merchandise and a really fun atmosphere, I have met so many cool people in the shop! The owner, Ramey knows her stuff, she can tell you the details about every piece in her store! She is also helpful, hilarious and just plain cool! I describe the people that I am shopping for and in minutes she has picked the PERFECT gift! Her taste in art is stellar, I have purchased a couple of amazing paintings. She also throws an awesome Art Opening, always a fun party! Dude, you should totally go to this store!!!!!!!!!
- Pros: Great prices and selection!
- Cons: NONE!
Best boutique in Silver Lake

Grace Ellay is the one place that I must visit whenever I am in Los Angeles. Grace Ellay has an assortment of unique gifts, great handbags and other exquisite accessories, including handmade scarves and jewelry. Whether it's casual apparel, a night out on the town or a romantic walk in the park, Grace Ellay has fun artsy clothing as well as classic styles. Beautiful pieces of art are displayed on all the walls, featuring many local artists. Its rare that I go home without a piece or two. I'll continue to visit and bring pieces of Grace Ellay home with me.
- Pros: Love the ambiance, unique gifts and art
- Cons: none

Everything at Grace Ellay is hand picked and bought with thought and care. Ramey, the owner is so much fun to visit with and they even have a palm reader once in a while.
The place to go for purses, art and unique gifts

I love this cozy little boutique! It has a very unique selection of clothes, jewelry and purses. I had been shopping around for a trench coat for some time, but couldn't find one I liked and could afford. When I came to Grace Ellay and found one, I was thrilled. With half the budget for my coat, I bought the one I liked and a beautiful handbag! I coudn't be happier with my purchase. I'll be back for some Valentine's Day gifts!
- Pros: Unique gifts, art and clothing
- Cons: Only open on Fri, Sat & Sun
great new shop in Silver Lake
by mrsbliss at Citysearch
I found out about this place from an artist friend of mine whose paintings are featured in this gallery/boutique. The shop has great art, but I have to admit I keep going back for all the wearable art. In the true East Side tradition, this place has unique clothes & jewelry at affordable prices. That means I can buy a smell-good candle for a friend and still get myself a new top and earrings to match - no guilt shopping! The owner carries some unique brands - a variety of hand-made, one-of-a-kind items and also some great basics. It's a rare example of getting ALL the elements right - art, clothes, gifts, vibe. I have been coming to this neighborhood for a decade for shows at Spaceland & food at Leela Thai. The good news is now I can get a good parking spot early and shop until the show starts. Love it.
- Pros: gets everything right - art, clothes, gifts, vibe
- Cons: fyi - only open Fri, Sat, Sun
