Nothing like it in town. Great food, wine, service! Fresh oysters, beef daube which was great, which our server, Sean, recommended. I felt I was somewhere else. Will definitely go back, with friends.

We have been twice to this new french brasserie in last two weeks and the waitservice on the first occaison was spotty. The second time disasteous! The waitress had an attitude, perhaps thinking rudeness was the same as french reserve. She was un-informative about the food especially when the Wednesday Special Duck was almost rare. Her response was that the Chef prepares it that way! Should not the diner who pays for the meal have the choice of how well it is cooked? I was unimpressed when she delivered a bowl for my second course and placed it on the small table before I had finished my first course. I spoke with the manager who thanked me for my input and offered a dessert. I have been told there are many French waiters and should ask for one the next time (if there is a next time).
Pros: most of the food
Cons: untrained and rude waitservice

The hubby and I had supper here the week it opened and had a great time. Authentic French brasserie food at reasonable prices. It was a shame we couldn't snag earlier reservations - by the time we had dinner at 9:30, they had already run out of their special plate (lobster thermidor for sunday) and several other seafood dishes. We had oysters, poisson, steamed homard - all simply cooked but very fresh and tasty. The violet flavoured ice cream was so light & delicious. Can't wait to try their breakfast and lunch menus - they look awesome!
Pros: authentic french brasserie, not expensive
Cons: easily run out of the specials

Want to feel like you are in Paris? Go to Anisette Brasserie. Friendly and enthusiastic service from people who are obviously glad to be of service. We had lunch: if you like beef tartar you won't be disappointed. Wine recommendations were superb. It's a little pricey but you won't mind if you love things French and you love really great food. One downside, you can't bring your vegetarian friends or people who have food issues because this is butter, meat and desert all the way. But it's worth it!
Pros: Beautiful decor right out of Paris
Cons: Not for vegetarians or people with food issues

As one of the early diners for Anisette's first public dinner service, I can report Anisette does not disappoint. Beautiful space, excellent food ( the presentation can be a bit too precious at times) and impeccable service. A fantastic addition to the LA restaurant scene.
Pros: Beautiful space, excellent food, great service
Cons: MINOR: Food presentation somewhat over the top at times (how to eat frites in a towering cone?), Three!!! waiters to serve my fish soup

...Ah, the promised land. A restaurant yet to open its memorable doors... With names that breathe promise, a culture which defies us to not acknowledge its profound and unique place in history. The realms of perfume, architecture, science, medecine, fine art, governement by the people, the most complex cuisine, and yes...even the annoyingly puffy bichon frise; all have been beautifully brought into the world by the french culture... And now this...an always exciting, as-of-yet-untasted restaurant! French stylings and a French chef...in a city by the sea... the beach breeze will prove but an afterthought in the light of the fare offered, I am sure. I will not be the first to visit this fine bit of French promise...but to those that will, I hope you enjoy the thrilling taste of the unknown mixed with sincere effort and vast potential. And finally; why am I writing this? ....Because there will surely be many reviews to follow, some glowing, some nitpicky, some effusively loving, and some forceably critical....and so I write the intro for a restaurant which I have to assume will fullfill it - for anything with such effort and love put into it surely deserves the grandest assumptions...and thus, this free review. I am certain you shall live up to it in time....un petit jardin francais, dans la ville by the sea.... et nous esperons!
Pros: I've never been...it hasn't opened yet
Cons: I've never been...it hasn't opened yet
