Rachel, Sydnee, Alexis - this place is amazing!

by jpalais at Citysearch

I get compliments on my highlights daily and won't let anyone else touch my hair color. No one can do the technique that Rachel does...I have the most rich and natural color and Rachel is a doll. Sydnee cuts long hair like no one else - she listens to what you are asking for and offers excellent suggestions. My hair has grown out thick and beautiful in her care and she is a pleasure to be around. Alexis is a genius at brows and gives each and every client focused and personal care. You want a perfectionist working on your eyebrows but she is also just a dear person! I wouldn't go to anyone else! Thomas Chance is a one-stop shop for me!

  • Pros:  Highlights, haircut, brows
  • Cons: There aren't two of them all!

Beau is amazing

Beau Byron gave me the best haircut and blowdry I've ever had. Being in the salon is a treat. It's friendly, upbeat, and beautiful.

I'll never let anybody else touch my hair.

LOVE IT!

by rmeyers82 at Citysearch

I've been a client of Veronica Valdivia for over three years and I've never had the same haircut twice! She is so creative and talented. I'm always very impressed when I see her- I'll give a general idea of what I want my hair to look like, and the end result includes my initial description, but has Veronica's creative twist and it always exceeds my expectations. I look forward to getting my hair cut with her because I feel like I'm going to see my friend, not my hair stylist. I travel from Pasadena to Santa Monica, in traffic, to see this woman! She's wonderful!!

Trying to hard in Santa Monica

by luckyness13 at Citysearch

ok so this salon is ok.. but whats up with the straight guy wearing eyeliner? and why do they gotta brag about flat screen tvs and stuff? thats not going to make your hail look better! Just concentrate on hair and not the add ons. Stick to Venice Hair salons.

  • Pros: cute salon but not much more
  • Cons: too small, too expensive. straight guys looking gay.

Shannon is my Savior

by HBomb23 at Citysearch

When I moved here in January '08 I was very disappointed to be leaving my hair stylist in Chicago. I tried 4 different salons and 4 different stylists on the West side for both cut and color and they all massacred my hair in some way; even though they said that they were experienced with hair like mine (long/medium length and curly). After all that I remembered that Shannon Kim, my stylist from 12 yrs ago in my home town of Michigan, had moved out here. (This girl had given me the most rad asymmetrical haircut back in the day that I will never forget.) I did some detective work and found her. She remembered me and we set up an appointment. When I got to her salon she immediately made sure that I was comfortable and well taken care of. When I got in her chair, she asked me what my ideas for my hair were, what I wanted to be able to do with it, and what had gone wrong for me in the past. Together we came up with a solution. She then cut my hair in a way that none of the other stylists had done (except for my beloved Chicago guy) and when she was done it looked 100 times better. Shannon told me it would take about a week to settle in and look it's best and she was right. After a week, I was thrilled. This girl is amazing. Because of our past I know she not only keeps up with the latest styles and trends but I know that she has at least 15 years experience under her belt at top salons around the country. I highly recommend her.

  • Pros: West side

Shannon ROCKS!!!!

by tiatuenge at Citysearch

After years of mediocre hairdos I finally found Shannon, my beauty savior!!! I found her in Allure magazine while on vacation in Hawaii. I was mourning my hair, as I watched it break off do to a terrible highlight job given to me by an unnamed person at Jose Eber on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

I was desperate to find someone who could give me great highlights and after reading the article I called right then and there and scheduled an appointment with Shannon to fix my hair as soon as I returned home.

Shannon took the time to listen to what I wanted and then gave me the best most natural looking highlights I?ve ever had plus a fabulous hair cut. After several years under her expert care my hair is incredibly healthy and looks great. I recommend her to all my friends and would never consider having anyone else touch my hair.

I couldn?t be happier with Shannon, is she a color expert and an amazing cutter, who is continually educating herself on the latest products and techniques. As an added bonus she has become my go-to-girl, if I ever need the latest up-to-date info on where to go and who to see she always seems to know, I haven?t been disappointed yet.

Marissa is Amazing!

by gina141 at Citysearch

If you are looking for someone to cut and color your hair, Marissa is amazing! What i didn't know was that she is just as good, if not better at styling hair. I had an important event to go to and i brought her a photo of an updo, which was pretty complicated, but i thought i would give it a shot. I've never been so pleased! Marissa did such an amazing!

Convenient salon hours, excellent vibe, top-notch customer service

by alipoo2002 at Citysearch

Shannon Kim at Thomas Chase is amazing! I checked out this beautiful salon last week and really was impressed. She's been doing my hair for 7 years and always knows exactly what I need. I have thin hair and she's transformed it thru short shags and growing it out long again. She's also amazing with color, we've gone from browns to blondes and back again. The salon is unique, super styled and has the high tech comfy shampoo chairs that are more like lounges, no cold sink in the back of your neck, you just relax. This place is serene and a nice relaxing change from some of the so called hip salons that are loud, cold and unfriendly. They even went and got me dinner while I got my blowout. I'm definitely going back and glad Shannon has made the move to Thomas Chase!

  • Pros: Ambiance, hi tech shampoo chairs, very private, late nite hours
  • Cons: none

Marisa is seriously THE best

by nastrovia7 at Citysearch

I havent been going to Marisa for years just because she's awesome, but the cut and color is always exactly what i asked for, or didnt even have to ask for! I can vouch that her cut and color will always compliment your face, personality and lifestyle...obviously why ive followed her from salon to salon. Her experience from fashion week runways and going back to her Fred Segal days definitely show through! Thomas Chase as a whole has a cool vibe, and it doesnt hurt that they're shampoo lounge is like sitting on a cloud, their espresso machine manages to make the best coffee, and you cant forget about the champagne! I might as well throw it out there that i know that Matt Adams also has the eye of god with hair! They are "shear geniuses"

  • Pros: Marisa is there, and everyone else is just as talented
  • Cons: n/a
