Great for a Friday Night

by brynnmalek

I go here and get the wine tasting deal- you get 3 wines and some appetizers for $20.

You also get to learn about the wines from a professional, she is great!

  • Pros: Great food/wine

Amazing Hotel O Hotel

by ALevy

I can honestly say that this hotel is O'Hotel is the best hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. I have stayed in most all of them for all different purposes and reasons and this hotel has been the best. From the staff, to the service and accomidations. I recomend this hotel for all types of people, business and romantic is very nice and good. I am so excited to just return to LA so that i just can stay in that hotel and never leave! The staff is sooo friendly and the decor, location and service is prime!!!!

  • Pros: Best Hotel in Down Town LOS Angeles

Surprisingly Fabulous!

by colitabonita

I read a review where they bashed this hotel for accidentilty booking his suite to someone else. He just sounds bitter because the service I has was fabulous! When we got to the hotel (which is beautiful) we were greeted by staff promptly. The rooms have alot of room and the restaurant customer service was great too. The bartendar was so sweet and made me want to stay all night. ;)

The hotel is also around everything in downtown, too...which is even better!!!

  • Pros: Customer service/spacious rooms

Great location for a great price...GREAT!

by tinamomina

The atmosphere at this hotel is great. There's a fabulous restaurant in the hotel and the presentation of it all was great. I had a great stay with great customer service. I would definitely recommend anyone visting the downtown area to book a room at the Orchid!

  • Pros: Its located in a central location of downtown.

Loved by this local!

by LALALady

Being a westsider, I rarely make it to downtown for a fun night out, but after hearing about this place, we HAD to check it out! The location is great.....we spent the day shopping around downtown. We spent the rest of the evening enjoying ourselves at the wine & tapas night that they hold every Friday. Great food & friendly staff! Our room was nice as well! It definitely pays off to visit smaller, independently owned hotels!

  • Pros: food, prices, atmosphere, location

AWFUL HOTEL

by Travel2009

The O Hotel located in downtown Los Angeles is the worst hotel I have stayed in. The hotel admitted to mistakenly giving our reserved suite to another patron as an upgrade and they did not provide us with an acceptable replacement or solution option. The best they could offer was a regular room with a view of a brick wall at the standard price. We reserved the suite for a special occasion and came away with a waste of our time. Poor staff, room and customer service; the worst hotel experience. Save your money and your vacation - stay away from this hotel.

  • Pros: downtown location
  • Cons: hotel service and rooms

Real estate kingpin Michael Rahimi's first hotel project is one of the first to blossom on slowly renovating Flower Street.

In Short
The frosted Japanese-style glass entrance offers a tribute to this historic building's former tenants, the Orchid Hotel, while the interior's chocolate brown couches a few feet from the lobby's trendy tapas restaurant call to today's savvy jet-setters. The 68 minimally decorated rooms keep things simple for business travelers with remote-controlled air conditioning, ergonomic desk chairs, free Internet and full or queen-size beds with high thread-count sheets. European touches in the bathroom include detachable shower heads, no shower doors and products from London's Gilchrist & Soames.

Hits: The hotel offers a calm retreat for business folks in the Financial District, yet it's just across the street from the shops and dining at Macy's plaza.

Misses: Because the downtown revitalization is slow, this area is still a bit off the beaten path.
