I had my hair done by Mary-Kate. She pampered me and gave me her full attention. She did such a great job on my hair and was so pleasant to talk with! From the moment I sat in her chair I felt comfortable and at ease. I have had some bad experiences with stylists not listening to my hair need in the past. Not this time. The salon had a great atmosphere, and I will come to see Mary-Kate every time I'm in Santa Monica! I reccomend Kyle Mathis salon to everyone.

Pros: great atmosphere, talented stylist, beautiful finished product

I used to like Mathis Murphy, but Kyle Mathis Hairdressing is far superior. It is a totally different vibe. More comfortable, relaxed, without pretense... a completely enjoyable experience. This is Kyle's second salon and the first salon he has owned without a partner. His artistic nature, genuine spirit, and creativity fill the place. He has assembled a caring, skilled, and creative staff that take the time to get to know you. They can do anything! Any color and any cut, but more importantly they will give you the look that best suits your features, your fashion, and your lifestyle. You will not be rushed in and rushed out. Your appointment will be on time. You will not be helped, you will be cared for...and truly, what is better than that?

Pros: Dig everything about the place.

Cons: Public Lot Parking.

Great place to be pampered while receiving an updated look to your style and color. The staff was gracious, ambience soothing and upbeat, and the special attention unexpected. After consultation with Kyle about life style, business, etc he created the perfect hairstyle and color to match every part of my life, from hiking to business meetings. I had been looking for the Bumble and Bumble products as a friend had introduced me to the luxury feel and easy styling of my hair with their products and was pleased to see a wide array of them at Kyle Mathis Hairdressing. I found Kyle after he moved from Venice and was delighted with the easier parking and location by a wide variety of restaurants and entertainment. Definitely a great find in Santa Monica.

Pros: the artistry of Kyle's styling techniques

Cons: I have to drive a distance, but definitely worth it!!

I leave feeling beautiful. My husband loves him and has never looked better. My 16 year old son wouldn't let anyone else touch his hair. Hair dressers don't get any better.

Pros: the best hair color, cut and style with fun staff in a pampered atmosphere

Cons: pricey but worth every cent...

I have been to a number of salons in my 60+ years. In most I feel uncomfortable. But not in Kyle Mathis. The staff is attentive and gracious. The music playing is mellow and relaxing. And then the haircut - well it is great. Kyle Mathis use to be in Venice but his new salon is far superior. The colors in the salon, the layout of the salon and the staff exceed any other salon. And the location!! Who can beat being a half block from the 3rd street promenade and 2 blocks from the ocean. WOW. And the parking garage is just a half block away. Kyle has years of experience so you are in expert hands. Treat yourself to the experience. You will wonder why you didn't get there sooner.

Kyle Mathis is a hair genius! Every time I leave his salon I feel so beautiful and the rest of my day seems to go perfectly! He turns my hair into a bouncy, sensational mane! My hair is very thick and long and no one else can do what he does to my hair! I love his talent and highly reccomend him to anyone who wants a hair transformation!

This is a great place for great hair - color, cut, new style, old style, long or short, funky or more traditional. I love this location, and that's only second to the comfort inside. I'm a busy girl, assistant to a big name guy, and, I like looking good. Great hair (and a smile) always has the people around me feel better about making the impossible happen for my boss! So, Kyle does the trick to keep me looking good! And everyone there is talented. well-trained, and nice to be around. Make this place a must! You'll be glad you did, and you'll keep coming back. It's truly a feel-good place, and you'll leaving looking FABULOUS! I highly recommend it, much more than the five star max! The moment you walk into KYLE MATHIS you are immediately greeted by Kyle and his GREAT staff! The service is excellent nothing bad to say. I have had Kyle doing magic tricks with styling my hair and he certainly knows how to make a person look good!!!!!!! THANKS!!!!!!

HOT location, HOT decor, HOT stylists, cold drinks, lots of fun, and I always leave HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY. I LOVE it when a complete stranger stops me to tell me they love my hair - and - it truly happens all the time! I tell them it's all because of Kyle! He has everything it takes for fabulous color, style, and HOT hairdressing...even though I don't get that word "hairdressing" fitting the elegant signature and upscale style of this salon and the work done here --- It's a great environment, and that’s a must for me. My salon has to be a place I enjoy and filled with people I want to be around since I never miss that touch up & trim every 4 weeks. Yes, I totally recommend it. Everyone working there has both talent and passion for their craft. Oh, and there are these massaging chairs that are pretty cool. Check it out. Then be ready for people you don't know telling you they LOVE your hair...it may lead to unexpected pleasures with strangers!!!! Yep, all that and more because of Kyle Mathis Hairdressing!

When I first met Kyle, he asked me what I wanted done. I said I wanted my hair to look like my hairdresser was blind and had never cut hair in his life before. He didn't let me down, and I've followed him from salon to salon ever since. I'd give him six stars if I could. Maybe seven, after the fab glass of wine I got when I last went in...
