I'm always a bit scared of going to get my hair cut. It seems as if I can never really articulate what I want. However, once I walked into Salon Pure all fears were gone. Scott my hair stylist pretty much got what I wanted without me having to say much of anything. I have to say that I have never seen anyone work in such a meticulous and skillful manner. I ended up with the best haircut ever! My haircut even convinced my aunt to go to Scott. This is a feat in itself since my aunt has refused to go to any hair stylist for over 5 years. Obviously, her haircut turned out to be amazing as well. If you want a guaranteed awesome haircut I would definitely call Salon Pure for an appointment with Scott.

Tonantzin is so amazing!! She has taken me from black to blonde and back to black and most recently at SalonPure she has taken me to red. I always love my hair and rarely have to say a thing about what I want. She just knows what to do to make me look great, but more importantly feel beautiful. Everyone I have sent to her there has walked away with an extra bounce in their step feeling the most beautiful they have ever felt and looked more stunning than ever. One of these days I know she will be too important in the business to do my hair herself so I suggest while she is still working in a salon you take advantage of it!! Not to mention that the salon itself is so great. The location helps a girl from Hollywood like me experience something different and gives me an excuse to explore the new up and coming location in Los Angeles, which is downtown!

erika is the best! she gave me the best hair cut i have had in a long time! i love the way she layers my hair. She also gave me the best bangs. She gives me tips on how to style my hair and how to keep it healthy. i highly recommend getting your haircut at salon pure its the best. the energy is great and the people are wonderful.

The vibe of the salon is amazing! Decor is fabulous, music is fabulous, the salon assistant David is fabulous and Judy is PHENOMENAL! I've been terrified to try anywhere new since three tragic visits to other well-reputed salons around LA, so I've been flying 3 hours to go back to my hometown to a Schwarzkopf certified stylist I've been seeing for 10 years. But, alas, my dear stylist a 3-hour plane ride away is no longer needed because I've found JUDY at Salon Pure! (Also well-versed in Schwarzkopf. which to anyone who isn't familiar with that name should know equates to color brilliance and know-how.) I've got surprisingly hard-to-color-hair, but Judy didn't flinch at it! She has the ability to do what many are unable to do: make a girl with brown eyebrows look like a natural blonde -- if you desire, as I did, she will apply the finest, most precise and natural appearing highlights you have ever seen and you don't leave this salon with roots (you know what I mean, when you get a highlight touch-up and the new starts about a quarter inch from the root) -- not here! Judy lifts the color from the root without causing bleeding to nearby roots and compromising the look -- serious talent. AND!!!!! 15% off to first time visits! Prices are totally reasonable to begin with (actual WAY underpriced given the level of talent, but shh, don't tell, I prefer to tip the talent than to pay the salon), but the 15% off makes your fist visit crazy affordable! And even better (and quite refreshing for the service industry in So Cal), they aren't going to try to pressure upsell you on ish you don't need! I went in for a full highlight, fully prepared to pay big bucks, but Judy studied my hair before starting and instead recommended a partial -- generally, I'm not a fan of partials since I pull it back a ton, but she did a highlight around the perimeter so I can pull it back and no one knows but me -- seriously looking out for MY interest, not her own - Someone I now totally trust!

Pros: TALENT! Atmosphere, Staff, Price

This was the best hair cut I have had in a really long time. The color was awesome too! It looks really natural and was exactly what I said I wanted. I had Tonanzin and she was GREAT. I go to school downtown and hadn't gotten my hair cut or colored in LA since I moved out here. I was very happy with my decision to go to Salon Pure. I really recommend this salon, I was very impressed!

The best cuts of my life have been given to me by Tonantzin - Since I started seeing her I've gotten so many compliments I can't even begin to count. I don't even need to know what I want when I walk in the door because she has the best recommendations and is purely professional. The ambiance and environment are very inviting and Salon PURE is in a fantastic location. I'm always in the best mood when I walk out the door.

so i needed a hair cut and i had been hearing about this new salon downtown. named pure..a few of my friends had gone in for a cut from a stylist named scottie.they said some really good things about him.plus i loved their hair cuts ...so on a saturday i went down..right when i walked into the salon..i got a very good vibe..scottie introduced himself to me ..sat me down at his station and started working his magic..the end result was hands down the best hair cut of my life.. and a very nice experience..its just one of those places you would want to just hang out at because the decor is amazing everyone was very nice this salon has it all.. talent.. location.. and beautiful people..

Pros: its right by a train station. decor is awsome.and good looking people never hurt

Living Downtown has been so great except for the fact my hair always looked shitty...Until recently. When walking my dog, I noticed a good looking man smoking outside on 6th St. I later came to find out his name was Rick and he's the owner of Salon Pure. He noticed my need for a good style and had me go see Scottie Scanlon. After the initial consultation, I knew I was not only in for a new look, but a new friend as well. After my appointment the following day, I left one very happy customer. My hair looks fabulous but more importantly, or maybe equally so, my experience there was great. The innovative interior is one of a kind along with the staff. Give it a walk by atleast to hear good music playing from the speakers and see fresh art on the walls. Tell Scottie you love him and Rick that he should stay at SB. I recommend this salon to all.

Pros: Talent, people, interior, music, friendliness, fun.

Cons: You probably shouldn't show up every day just to hang out.

It was a great experience to have my hair done with Erika at this salon. I was exceptionally pleased with my hair style and use of products. I would highly recommend this salon to all my friends and family. Everyone was pleasant and I was treated very "special". If you want great service, quality hair stylists, and a very unique atmosphere Salon Pure is the place to go.
