THE best massage in LA

I've had massages by Johnny Ray several times over the past ten years and he is always-without fail-the best massage. I live in Venice and over the past year i've often opted for a massage at The Massage Place or Lamai Thai Massage because of it's convenience for me. but after going to Johnny Ray yesterday-i am reminded tenfold of how amazing he is and how it is SO worth it! (and the drive is really not that bad at all:) it's a matter of getting a good/adequate massage at one of the massage places where it's hit or miss with the therapist you get and really feeling like you could use another massage a few days later or going to Johnny Ray at Carino Massage and being truly released and relaxed and rejuvenated. He is truly a healer.

The Best in LA!

It’s truly an amazing massage from Johnny Ray! I have been frequenting his place for sometime now and always leave feeling fantastic. Whether you’re in the mood for a deep tissue or more relaxing massage Johnny is more than capable. I have gone to many massage therapists over the years and he is the BEST!

Simply the best massage around!

The lucky people (including myself) who get to see Johnny for his Carino Massage know how much he truly, GENUINELY cares about making his clients feel great -- it's not just physical well-being, but emotional & mental well-being as well.

The space on Melrose is intimate & cozy. You can't help but feel nourished there. And Johnny's one-of-a-kind Carino massage provides me relief like no other massage before (and I've been getting massages for almost 20 years now!)

It's a DEEP & comprehensive massage which covers all the bases. But if you have specific target spots, he'll focus on them for you, too.

My only "complaint" is that I can't (yet) see him EVERY week instead of just once a month. But that once a month massage is something I really look forward to!

Oh, My Aching Back

Johnny Ray's hands are magic. His massages are firm, but he is a gentle soul. I really felt so much better after I left his studio. I was loose, open and could breathe! True, this spa lacks some of the luxury perks that 5-star hotel spas offer, but the results are the same, if not much better, and the price is so affordable that I intend to have a long relationship with this place!

Great massage experience - very relaxing

I was very lucky to come across Johnny Ray of Carino Massage and booked a long, luxurious massage treatment from him. I've had many massage theraphists over the years, Johnny is very knowledgable - getting out kinks I did not know I had ans he gently reminded me that I was there to relax. Relax I did as my knotted and tense muscles were massaged away. Thank you Johnny for an amazing massage treatment. I will be back!

Great place for tired new Moms.

Carino Massage is a great place for new moms to get a way for a while to rejuvinate! I have extremely tight shoulders and back tension. Johnny Ray made a HUGE difference after ONLY one hour!!! I recommend him to all of my mommy friends!!

Best Massage in Los Angeles!!

Johnny Ray Nelson, Jr. delivers the most incredible massage I have ever had! I have been to all of the big spas in Los Angeles, paying double the price, and it didn't even come close to the experience I had with Johnny's Carino Massage. It is unlike any massage, a unique technique from Johnny, and never fails to rejuvinate my mind and body. Thank you Johnny!! I will certainly see you again!!!

Best massage ever!!!

I just had a massage from Johnny at Carino and left feeling completely blissed out! He has a natural and very special gift, and his massages are unlike any I've had anywhere around the world. It's a meditative experience, but also deeply physical. He has strong hands and really works out all the kinks and inbalances. He is compassionate, caring and positve. The place is relaxing, and the decor is soothing. All of it put together equals a truly magnificent experience. You have to try it!

Johnny Ray has magic hands!

Best massage in town! Johnny Ray has magic hands! He uses his own technique which is a combo of deep tissue, sports, Thai, Swedish and the Carino. I have a very bad back due to car accidents, so a lot of shoulder and neck pains. He is able to get in there and actually release some of the pain and pressure and I feel fantastic afterward. I have had massages all over LA and he's by far the best. Plus, his prices are great and always has specials. Enjoy!

Best Massage Ever

Johnny Ray is, hands down, the best massage therapist I have ever been to. I'm a massage therapist as well and have had plenty treatments. His prices are so reasonable they are ridiculous. He is very strong and works a lot with his forearms and leans into the body so there is a nice even compression and I never get sore because the weight of the pressure is like a steam roller as opposed to "strong thumbs". Best ever!
