Opened in May 2008, every bit of decor inside this extravagant shoe emporium is imported from Italy: All of the art on the walls, every rug, gold-threaded tapestry and fixture--including delicate door handles shaped liked shoes--and it shows. At once formal, this sprawling space is also cheerful and feminine, and the staff is notably warm and courteous, which shouldn't be such a big deal, but it is. All of these rich details serve as a glamorous backdrop for a selection of footwear by the likes of Valentino, Dior and Chanel in addition to Caovilla's own handmade collection of heels, including his signature wraparound and fancy embellishments like handbeaded Swarovski crystals, flowers and intricately applied rope.
