MY BOYFRIEND WHO HATES SUSHI AND I WHO LOVE SUSHI LOVED SASHI! HE ORDERED FROM THE ROBATA GRILL WHILE I ATE THEIR FANTASTIC SUSHI! THE SOUFLE DESSERT WAS AMAZING!

- Cons: CROWDED BUT IT IS UNDERSTANDABLE

Atmosphere was pleasant,,the food was ok. I had the Sashi Roll, way too salty. Too much sauce and spicy mayo. Kobe Beef with chiso roll was disapointing. Too much flavors and not enough flavor. They should get rid of this dish. I would only recommend this place for drinks and not the food.
- Pros: Good Pickled Ginger
- Cons: Too salty
What a disappointment

it was all about Hollywood and trendy dining. Like some other person wrote in his review, I'm honestly thinking that most of these reviews were written by the owner/staff & its friends....
My entire experience (ever since making my reservation) was about their trendy & with attitude style. My friends (group of 6) made reservations and we were seated almost a good hour after the actual reservation time.
Beautiful restaurant, but sashi does not have the staff, sushi chef, technique and appearance to go with it.
I honestly want my money back.
Service was sooooo slow (and after having to wait an hour w/ reservation was a joke), none of us were even hungy, but we still ordered some food to see what people were woo-hoo-ing about..
Terrible mistake. Few orders of sushi and drinks and the bill came out to more than $200.
Next time, I know to give my business to other sushi places in MB.
- Pros: hollywood
- Cons: hollywood
love it!

This place reminds me of Club Sushi in hollywood. They both have similar atmosphere and energy. Sushi+sake=a great night out.
great place

I recently went to Sashi as I heard it was a rockin place. The food was great (although a bit pricey) and the atmosphere was fun. I recommend Sashi if you like fresh fish and a fun time.
- Pros: fresh fish
- Cons: none
NOT THE BEST SUSHI

Don't bother if you want good authentic sushi.
The place is nicely decorated, hip and trendy with the beautiful Manhattan Beach crowd. I would recommend it for a date or for some drinks after work.
Sushi is very average. We ordered almost everything on the menu, nothing stood out as good, just plain average. Tables are very close to one another, felt like we were eating with the couple next to us. Service was a little slow although the server was friendly.
Not a cheap place, and you are definitely not paying for the quality of food.
Best sushi in town!

Best sushi in town! Sit at the sushi bar and ask for Yoma. Great service and great environment. I would highly recomend this place.
- Pros: none
- Cons: best sushi, great service
Bottom line, I'd go back for the sushi & atmosphere, but I'd skip the appetizers.

My son & I visited yesterday as we waited for a dental appt upstairs. We LOVE sushi and wanted to try it. I have to say that the sushi, itself, was GREAT! And the prices were average for sushi in the area.
The atmosphere was GREAT -- my son lounged on the couches up front & read his book while we ordered -- then wanted to stay there to eat! (The outdoor area looks amazingly comfy, too.) The interior was, obviously, lovingly done.
The appetizer portion of the meal is where felt let-down: the amuse bouche (steamed buns with curry sauce for dipping) and miso soup. First of all, I like BOLD flavors, so when I saw curry sauce I was excited. . .but this curry sauce was bland. Also, the miso soup was bland with HUGE chunks of silky but tasteless tofu. I LOVE miso soup for the taste of the miso. . .but this was just tofu with a bit of bland juice around it.
- Pros: Sushi, ambiance, outdoor seating
- Cons: disappointing appetizers
Unbelievable sushi...

I'll have to disagree with Sunny. Sure, Octopus gives you the big "California Beach" welcome when you walk in, but the quality of the sushi is incomparable. If you want a basic tekka maki roll, then the other MB sushi places are fine but if you're looking for an amazing sushi experience, Sashi is the place to go.
DID NOT MEET EXPECTIATIONS

If you are going to enjoy the ambience for an upscale Hollywood-ish bar, stop by. Otherwise, if you are looking for a quiet dinner, good quality, minus attitude and good service, there are many more sushi bars in Manhattan Beach. The ambience was nice, but everything seemed very overpriced, the food was par, and the service was below par. Yeah, good bar scene, but that was about it. Very business like restaurant. Didn't feel the human touch or the warm welcome like the other Japanese owned sushi bars in Manhattan Beach like Octopus. If you want cheap rolls and rowdy scene, go to Fusion. Don't pay for what you don't get.
- Pros: ambience, parking, location
- Cons: quality of food, not worth your money, attitude
Sushi and Sake lounge by Arlene T. at InsiderPages

This was one of the most happening sushi/sake lounges I've seen. The lounge was packed and loud. I went for the bento box dessert which has samples of delicious Japanese desserts all placed in a cute bento box. Also, they have a very extensive sake list which is difficult to find in the West side. Pricey but the ambiance it worth it.
