best dining
by Juliebecker
I love coming here with my girl friends and grabbing a glass of wine. I really enjoy the margherita pizza and the butterscotch dessert. I was luck enough to get a celebrity sighting along with the eye candy staff.
- Pros: hot waiters
- Cons: long wait, hard to find
they completely lost our reservation
by akla123
We made a reservation almost 2 weeks prior to the Wednesday night we planned on coming in. When we arrived the hostess said we were not on the reservation list and they were all booked up and the wait would have been 90 mins for a table. How ridiculous! For a place so nice and expensive I expect them to have integrity when honoring reservations made by phone. What a waste of time!
- Pros: none so far since i did not get past the front door
- Cons: they have no integrity with honoring reservations
Will Not Be Back
by TNTB
We will not be back! My husband and I have to agree with some of the other reviews. The hostess was rude, really had an attitude problem. Our waitress couldn't have cared less about waiting on us. It took 45 minutes to get our food and then it wasn’t right. This restaurant needs a complete make over when it comes to their service. In fairness the food was good once they got it right. But the price, the service and rudeness isn't worth it.
- Cons: Really bad attitude & service
Good Food, TERRIBLE SERVICE
by imabuqt
The food was good. BUT, unfortunately what I took home from this restaurant was a feeling that I would not go out of my way to go back to eat there again. I eat out a lot, and the service here was some of the Worst I've ever encountered. Many things were missed. The waiter never came to the table after things were served to see if we needed anything. We sat there on a really hot day for 15 minutes after arrival without anyone asking us if we wanted to order a drink. The waiter argued with the table when we told him one of the salads never came out. He said "Well, it was made for you. So someone must have ate it!" More than likely, it was served to the wrong table by the incompetent staff. And to top it all off, the hostess could not tell us over the phone where they were located on Abbot KInney. She had no idea what the cross streets of her workplace were!!!!
- Pros: Yummy food. Medium rating because the food was good!
- Cons: Awful Service
Favorite New Restaurant!!!
by NicoleMyden
Gjelina is by far the best kept secret in Los Angeles right now. Tucked away in Venice on Abbot Kinney, this hidden gem is truly a fabulous dinner spot. The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing, the service and recommendations could not have been better - and the food is INCREDIBLE! Tip: Order a bunch of dishes and share and definitely make a reservation in advance to sit on the patio (only way to go)! SO worth it - enjoy fellow foodies!!!
- Pros: Fabulous patio!
- Cons: Everyone's going to start knowing about it, but I had to...

Tasty Scene

Just go and try it, you'll enjoy it and be glad you did.
And try the mushroom toast (sauteed mushrooms as good as I've had!)
- Pros: tasty dishes, style, people watching, engaging place
- Cons: inside is loud, not every dish a winner
Delicious food, great new restaurant
by DenaG
Went on a Wendesday night, there were 7 of us and the menu had something for everyone. We started with 2 thin crust pizzas (one mushroom and one with carmelized onions), both were delicious. We shared the mixed lettuce salad and some sides. I had the prawns small plate - 2 shirmps which was perfect and enough with everything else we ordered. The restaurant was packed. I would definately go back but its tough to get a reservation and you need one. It was a chilly night so we were glad there were plenty of heaters in the outside back patio as inside was crowded and loud. Ask to sit outside, it's very cute.
- Pros: food was perfectly prepared, great selection
- Cons: sit outside in the courtyard, inside is noisy and crowded
