Good Hangout

I've been to Place Yuu occasionally. They are mainly "Izakaya" style, which means their dishes are based on their alcohole drinks. Over there, you can buy a bottle of sake or shochu and you can keep it if you are not finished.

They have sushi, but also they have some Japanese foods suitable for sake and beer such as seafoods, some beef dishes, and rice bowls.

Interior of the Place Yuu is very comtemporary, but yet still Japanese restaurant. It's a good place to hang out with your date after the movie. I don't recommend to go there during dinner time because their parking gets really busy since they have other restaurants and businesses around.

Undiscovered Gem!

In the middle of Little Tokyo West, Place Yuu opens at night only and seems overlooked by the crowds. Fresh, ample portions of sushi, large sake selection, wall-sized TV tuned to ESPN. What else do you need when all the "top" places are full. Then again, forget I said anything... maybe it's best left undiscovered. Mori, the chef/owner probably doesn't want the extra work.

• Pros: Fresh Sushi, Great Value, Sake selection
• Cons: Crowded parking lot.
