One of the best rotisserie chicken spots in L.A.
by PorkJELLO
I read about this place in an L.A. Times article and decided to check it out. The actual restaurant isn't pretty but you aren't going there for aesthetics. You're going there to get some really good peruvian rotisserie chicken. And the prices are great! It's tough to beat $15 for a whole chicken with two sides and their spicy aji sauce.
The rotisserie itself is impressive and they use real wood to feed the oven which gives the chicken that extra flavor that only a wood fired oven can give. Combine that with the flavorful peruvian spices and the green aji sauce, you get a great tasting meal.
- Pros: Wood fired rotisserie chicken
- Cons: If you aren't down with the hood, then stay home.

I'm not a big fan of chicken, but when I read that Nancy Silverton thought it was good, I took the time to drive from Culver City to get a chicken. I found myself gnawing on the bones. It's terrific.
BEST CHICKEN IN LA
by rockintimes
This is the best chicken you will find in LA. The parking is bad (I used to walk since I lived around the corner) and the building is quaint but the people are nice and the food is cheap and excellent. Get a 1/4 piece of chicken and sides for less than $5 or a whole chicken for around $10.
- Pros: Great inexpensive food!!
- Cons: Parking
Grab a chicken and go
by hajesterha
I always drove past this place, remembering it for the backwards "Western" on the sign (for rearview mirrors??) and the stacks of wood piled in the car wash next to it.
The inside, if you can fit inside, is tolerable if you?re looking to grab a very quick bite of good, cheap food. Just don?t plan on staying too long or you?ll begin to realize that the persistent B to C rating is there for a reason.
That said, the chicken is really excellent, and costs about $5-9 for a half/whole chicken. There are a few sides, all done well and of the heavy-carb variety (potatoes, fries, etc.). Even the dessert is rice pudding. All hail starch!
If you?re like me, you?ll leave full, only slightly poorer, and smelling wonderfully of wood fire. Just be sure to smile at the nice counter guy so he?ll give you some extra spicy green sauce!
Where there's smoke, there's fire--and tasty flame-broiled chicken.

The Scene
You can smell Pollo a la Brasa before you see it. The smoky aroma of roasting meat cuts through the usual city odors, luring diners to a no-frills, Formica-appointed shack that's often packed with customers during peak meal times.
The Food
The folks at Pollo a la Brasa take rotisserie cooking very seriously. Roasting chickens rotate above crackling flames in ovens brimming with firewood. But it isn't just smoke that distinguishes these birds; they're also marinated in spices that imbue them with an aromatic tenderness. Plates come with salad and rice or papas fritas, which are hearty strips of potato fried to perfection (they're delicious with the spicy green aji sauce). Those hankering for red meat can opt for rib-eye steak or beef-heart skewers.
Best Peruvian Chicken by far!
by laguy1
Dont expect Service, I would'nt eat there..as it's not the nicest decor, but pick up a bird or two and their Ahi sauce ( hot sauce) and your in Heaven for relatively cheap! it's the Hole in the wall that never answers their phone, but puts out a really good core product, rotisserie peruvian chicken! Like they say..if you do 1 thing well...it does'nt matter that your not refined, I give this place a AA++
