Seafood is amazing!

Finally a place that offers more than the usual fried calamari, they have that too, but you also have so many choices. I recommend their BRAZINO (Sea Bass), it's huge and soooo good.
- Pros: Location
- Cons: Kitchen closes early
A family affair
by VERBENA
I had been planning our family reunion for months. The dates, the activities...quite the project! The first night I was told we would be 22 for dinner. We set dinner at 7, by 8:30 there were ten more! The staff that evening was so helpful. The pasta dishes were a huge success! I think we ordered all but one.
The atmosphere is gorgeous. So many details...you can tell the owners take pride in there restaurant. Our food was always ready and so well presented too! I know our family wants to make this another tradition! I recommend the hot fudge cake and ice cream for the kids, they loved it!
- Pros: VERY ACCOMODATING
- Cons: They could use a second story!
THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!

Right away you're greeted with a smile from everyone. We were worried we didn't have a reservation, on a Friday night, what were we thinking...They let us know that we could wait for a table inside or sit outside right away. We were anxious to be seated and we were. This place is so cute. We ordered the divina salad and grilled calamari...PERFECT. I had the veal and my friend had the gnocchis. She's Italian, so no place in LA gets it according to her...they did it right. At the last minute I sneaked away and told the hostess it was my friend's bday. All the servers and (owners) came out to sing. We had a the best time. My Italian friend finally approved. She said it felt like just like home! Thank you everyone at Michelangelo!
- Pros: FOOD! Romantic and friendly service
- Cons: They aren't open 24 HOURS!
Good in the past but horrible now!!!

I used to LOVE this resturant before it move location.Good service great food small and romantic. Now u are lucky if you can get a table. It's always busy and the hostess doesnt make thing better, she is rude and just doesnt care unless you know her. Finally after waiting 2hours for a table when my food arrived it was cold and the server didnt come at all to offer water or ask if everything was fine. So i never could complain because it seem like no one cared. THEY WERE SO RUDE. NEVER will we go there again plus the parking stinks . who ever took charge of the resturant is doing a bad job keeping their loyal custermers from the neighborhood. I live around the corner, so sadly i say no to this once great resturant
- Pros: great chicken alfredo
- Cons: terrible cold food and service

"I am the biggest supporter of local, family owned joints in Silverlake. This little town is a mecca of wonderful ones and I love it! Unfortunately This one has greatly disappointed twice. First time was at the old location in the village and now the pizza we just had delivered tonight was a distant 3rd to frozen.
I am bummed because the new spot looks so inviting and romantic. I wanted ti to be spectacular, but it was anything but."
- Pros: Looks romantic driving by
- Cons: Bad pizza
New location thinks they're the hottest spot in town...apparently.

My husband and I regularly got delivery from the original location, and when we saw them move even closer to us, we decided to try to dine in one night. Only problem was, every time we would call for a reservation, they would nearly laugh at us over the phone as if we weren't good enough to eat there. My first attempt was two weeks after they re-opened. It was 5pm on a Saturday when I called to see if they had any availability for 2 people around 7:30 or 8. She didn't say, "no, I'm so sorry, we're all booked tonight. You're more than welcome to come by and wait for an opening." All I got was snotty attitude, "NO, we do not have any availability." I said..."nothing?" and she said "Nothing."
Ok, I told myself... so it was really soon after they re-opened...I thought I'd try again a different day.
Fast forward to two months later. I called to get some delivery. I no longer really wanted to eat there. I guess I'm just one of those people. I called on a Friday evening. This was the EXACT conversation:
Hostess: "Good evening Michelangelos"
Me: Hi, I'm calling for delivery.
Hostess: "Oh, NO. We are too busy tonight for that."
Me: Oh, I'm sorry, do you not do delivery?
Hostess: Yes, we DO, but we're too busy right now.
Me: Ooooooo-kay.
Hostess: You can pick it up? (this was a question?)
Me: No thanks, I'll be calling someplace that can actually deliver.
Hostess: Ok. good-bye
Me: Click.
I'm sorry, but the food is only moderately good...they have themselves confused with some high end Beverly Hills 5 star restaurant. My husband and I won't eat there again. Apparently this won't be all that difficult since they seem to want that very same thing.
- Pros: They are apparently very busy.
- Cons: Ridiculous self image and they are apparently so busy they can't possibly squeeze you in.
I am sorry to say new staff and new location don't add up.

Let me start by saying i am not happy to give a bad review. My husband and I were regular's of Michelangelo's for years at their old location and I wished nothing but success for them at their new site and was very excited to see how busy they always were.
My family was in this past weekend and we thought it would be a good idea to go there for dinner. We called at 6 p.m.to get a reservation, we were told they had a table for 6:30. We all loaded into the cars and headed over. We arrived at 6:23 and when my husband approached the desk and told the hostess we were there for a 6:30 reservation she smiled and told us someone took our table. He looked at his watch and questioned this. To which she replied, with a biting smile, that it wasn't in fact a reservation, she didn't take our name. He was confused and asked, 'you don't take reservations?' She replied, 'yes we do, but it wasn't a reservation, i just told you we would have a table at 6:30'. When I asked what the point of calling in was, her response, 'so we can tell you that we would have a table at 6:30, but they took it.' Having worked in restaurants I am not sure how we didn't get an apology, how this was acceptable and how she rationalized this to herself. It was one of those moments that might not sound so bad here but leaves you gob-smacked. Needless to say we left, all piled into the cars and headed off to Cliff's Edge. So I can't comment on the food, I assume it as good as usual. But I have to say that with other amazing restaurants around the area, I won't bother with them anymore. The hostess was so snotty (and i see from other reviews I am not alone) that I, sadly, can't recommend this place anymore and i won't be going back. And if you do make a reservation...make sure they understand it is a reservation.
- Pros: Assuming the food is the same quality, it can be good.
- Cons: Not being able to get a table. Staff
Our "Spot"
by jazzgasm
My boyfriend and I absolutely adore Michaelangelo's. We used to walk there when they were located on Silverlake Bvd, and were devastated when they lost their lease. Where would we go for romantic dates?? Where could we go where people would remember us and welcome us with hugs?! We no longer had a "spot"!
Much to our delight, the new Michaelangelo's is even MORE romantic, with even MORE wonderful items on the menu! He loves the eggplant parmigian when it's on special (put it on the menu, guys!!) and I fell in love with the penne scampi. I don't even like seafood! Also, until they get their wine license, they don't charge for corking! We're so glad our spot is back, and better than before!
- Pros: food, ambience, no corking fee, great staff, fairly affordable
- Cons: put the delish eggplant on the permanent menu! it's too good not to!
Great authentic Italian food- from a New Yorker
by four4
I have been going to this restaurant since they were in Silverlake and it is the BEST Italian food in Silverlake/Los Feliz/Hollywood. As a past New Yorker and visitor of Italy, this is one of the only Italian restaurants that I will eat at in Los Angeles.
The restaurant is run by a family- the grandma, her sons and daughter and now their grandchildren wait tables. They are all so nice and accommodating and work really hard. The pasta is very good and the ambiance is wonderful. It is so great to find a "real" family operated restaurant in LA- and one who's food is really good.
If anyone has been to nearby Little Dom's (who's food taste like it came out of a Spaghetti O' can) you know what I mean!
They have become extremely popular, so make sure you make a reservation on Saturday nights- or else you will have a wait!
- Pros: friendly staff, great food, BYOB
- Cons: none
