My friend and I wanted to go to an untried Thai place. So using City Search we went to Leela's. Boy, so glade we did. Not that close to my home in Thai Town, but it draws you back. Mondays are not considered the best days to go out to eat, but this place proves them wrong. We took our own wine, no corkage charge. (they are not licensed ) the first time we went they told us where to purchase some, they were very helpful with clean bright wine glasses supplied. We had different A La Cart each time, so fresh, tasty and fair size portions. Top of our taste, Heavenly Shrimp, Yellow Currie and Secret Spice (we chose pork, giving it 5 stars ) and Spicy Green Beans. You be the judge, go, its nice. It's decor is rather unorganized, but the food is certainly not. Its in a nice arera also.
Only Draw back CASH ONLY, nearly caught us out twice. Free Parking plenty. Have not used Rest Rooms yet ?

Leela Thai is great!!! I love the seafood soups, fried rice, and heavenly chicken (orange chicken). The prices are pretty low. Most dishes cost 3 to 8 dollars. The Thai Iced Tea is so good!!! They also offer free delivery that always quick. The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. The dining room is decorated with tepestries and the tables have pictures of customers enjoying their meal. If you go (Which you should) Write or draw a comment and slip it under the glass on the tables. Its great for kids and couples. The service is also great!! This is a the best Thai restraunt in LA!!!
- Pros: Cheap, great addictive food, cozy environment
- Cons: They take cash only (theres an ATM at '7-11' convienient store across the street)

good grief. i can't go anywhere else for thai iced coffee. i've been ruined by leela's.
you get a huge cup. it's great. the food is great. delivery, even when you're within walking distance, is prompt and correct. it always seems to be empty, but the food+pricing and what not, make it one of those hole-in-the-wall finds that you just keep on going back to.
right next to spaceland, it's got bad parking. i'm without words. go here and eat. come back for more tomorrow.
- Pros: great fooooood. superb iced coffee.
- Cons: no parking. small tables.
Yellow Curry From A Worthy Place
by jt2 at Citysearch
As the lone patrons a son (we assumed) of the owner did his homeowork while my wife and I enjoyed our favorite dish from Leela - the yellow curry. It's phenomenal. Local, unpretentios and welcoming - nice to know those qualities exist in Los Angeles.
Delivery is always prompt too.
- Pros: Service, delivery, yellow curry
- Cons: Not ideal for a first date but great for a comfy couple
My favorite thai restaurant

I get (free!) delivery from Leela all the time, and I have yet to try a dish I didn't like. The restaurant itself is hardly fancy, but the food is excellent and a great deal. Highly recommended.
- Pros: Food, Price
- Cons: Decor
Friendly and tasty neighborhood Thai eatery
by fiestascramble at Citysearch
Checking out a local rock act at Silver Lake's Spaceland? Plan on grabbing dinner beforehand at Leela Thai, which is located next door. Family-owned, this Thai eatery is known for their friendly service and skillfully prepared dishes. Also, they use the BEST TOFU around--baked, brown on the edges and firm. Suggested dishes: Hot and sour soup, Pad Se Yu, tofu larb and pineapple fried rice.

I have been going to Leela Thai for about six years now and I can't complain. However, the restaurant is not ready for big groups. Neither their small size can accommadate friendly gathering
