So we finally decided to go to this restaurant. The service was BAD. the waiter was rude and when the check came, the amount was less as he wanted to put the remaining of the balance asa tip. The food was ok, but very BAD service.

Pros: near pinkberry

Cons: bad service

The food is just okay. The service at this restaurant is terrible. The waitress went to run an errand and we were left with no table service. We had to go look for another waitress to pay our bill. Do not go to this restaurant!!!

My husband and I are addicted to authentic Spanish food, and Spain has pretty much the best Paella we've found in L.A. And at a VERY decent price. When we dine in we bring our own wine for a $10 corkage fee... but whenever we have a dinner party or people to entertain, we order ahead and take it home with us ... I put it in the oven on low till we're ready to eat and listo!

Pros: Foo'ds good!

Cons: Fancy it ain't...

Great chicken and super reasonable. We pick it up all the time! Nice service, no nonsense, great little store with huge bags of Yerba Mate. Good selection of Spanish comfort food. Not a fancy tapas place, which is an asset ($14 for Serrano Ham anyone?). Good neighborhood joint.

Unless your definition of authentic Spanish is downtrodden and impoverished then Spain restaurant is not for you, because that is exactly how to describe the neighborhood that this restaurant is located in. Food was mediocre at best while the prices reflected a mid- to high-end bistro in West LA (think Cobras & Matadors across from The Grove). The best value was a $20 paella that had 4 adult servings although it was slightly bland. Skip the overpriced appetizers. Mushrooms with garlic were a joke priced at $7 considering the mushrooms were from a 69-cent can (they didn't even taste good). You are better off paying a little more and eating at any of the 5 or 6 better Spanish tapas establishments, with better food, ambience, service, and not having to worry about being carjacked. Ironically, these are all listed inside CitySearch. What's more, no one in Spain restaurant actually came from Spain, unless you consider speaking Spanish the only requirement necessary.

Pros: Decent paella

Cons: Overpriced, bad area,

I love eating Spanish Tapas. I have been to quite a few in Los Angeles and so far this beats them all. The food is full of flavor, the service is awesome and the place is cozy. Driving up to the place might make you change your mind since it is next to a liquor store and not in the best area. Do not let this fool you. Once you walk in you will forget all that. The price is reasonable. We had a variety of tapas and 2 bottles of wine all for 60 bucks. I will definitly be dining here again!

Pros: food, service, price

Cons: area, parking

This is the most authentic Spanish food I've had outside of Spain! Their tapas are fabulous! And they added bonus is their deli with imported queso manchego, jamon serrano, chorizo and more!

Cons: Parking is limited

Don't be deceived by the external facade. Inside it's great and the food I've had so far has been a hit with everyone. I've used them numerous times for company & home parties. Their whole chickens are so moist w/ good flavor and the meat just falls off the bones. They can cut them up for you - making it easy to serve. The rice is excellent, mixed green salad, whole chickens & chicken empanadas are the perfect base for a party menu and you can add in the fillers elsewhere. The potato croquettes are sooo good too! They melt in your mouth!

Pros: Convenient location, Good value, quality food

Cons: Parking, $20 credit card limit

what disappointment! After reading such good reviews I expected more. We went on a flamenco night and only few tapas were available. The mushrooms and calamari were $7-8 each and the smallest portion I've seen for that price. The variedad plate $14 was 2 tiny ham sandwiches, a wedge of tortilla that was 2 bitefuls in size, and a tiny bowl of olives. The olive oil they brought for our bread tasted more like canola oil. the chicken paella was even more disappointing. They didn't even use the real paella rice and there was barely any chicken. To top it off, our $18 pitcher of sangria was mostly ice and even when we asked for less ice for the second pitcher, it was still packed w/ ice and barely any wine. I don't know if things changed since the last reviews but I would never recommend the restaurant to anyone.

Pros: casual

Cons: price, service, quality

Yes I agree you can eat really good in Spain but definetely not in Spain Restaurant. Ridiculous small portions, yes I know what is a tapa and I know that is small, but don`t price tapas like they are main dishes. We order meat paella and was not good, actually one of the worst I`ve eaten, and believe me,I know how a paella should taste (I`ve eaten some good ones in Valencia) . We order sangria and at least half was ice. I have travelled quite a lot around Spain and I`ve enjoyed a lot eating there, and I`m sorry people will think this restaurant represent my country`s gastronomy.

Cons: small portions, expensive, poor quality

Inexpensive Echo Park Spanish restaurant and deli.  See the full editorial review.
