AWESOME!! AWESOME!! AWESOME!!
by Turrbo at Citysearch
If you like fine foods this is the place for you. Grab a great bottle of wine, some cheese, and FANTASTIC service. They gladly took me in 5min before close and spent well over 40min with me with all the great items they had on hand.
Passion is a wonderful thing, especially whey there's food involved. This is the place for you if you love cheese. DON'T come here if you're expecting a 10" tall sandwich made from cheap product, it's good food, for people that have an advanced level of taste.
- Pros: Fine and rare cheeses and meats
- Cons: it's pricey, but you get what you pay for.
Great service and best veggie sandwich in Silver Lake!
by IMOC at Citysearch
It was my favorite type of morning, the kind that's a bit chilly with a little drizzle making me want to be somewhere cozy, drinking a frothy cappuccino or a thick hot chocolate while dipping a warm, crunchy, buttery baguette into both. A friend invited me for breakfast to this local cafe that I've driven and walked by for a year but never felt the pull to visit, what a mistake!!! Say Cheese has everything I love about a cafe, a European ambience but with great American service. Brian, our server, was excellent! He made sure we were comfortable, happy and was very attentive without being too intrusive throughout our 2 hour stay. I'm a vegetarian and was wary about ordering the veggie sandwich because most restaurants think vegetarian food has to be boring but to my surpirse, the portobello sandwich was very tasty. Go and enjoy yourself at Say Cheese and say hi to Brian.

Jewel in Silver Lake - Fromagerie & Cafe - Delicious food & coffee, gorgeous selection of cheeses
by dottingpromise at Citysearch
We tried Say Cheese for breakfast: morning cheese plate came with a sampling of exquisite gourmet cheeses, a couple of strawberries, dried fruit, and a baguette. The European Ham & Gruyere on a croissant was utterly delicious - served with gourmet mustard. The caffe latte was unmatched. And the orange juice tasted fresh-squeezed. Our waiter was very attentive. Afterwards, we enjoyed perusing the little fromagerie. Glenn (behind the counter) was friendly and clearly an expert in cheese and gourmet meat. He let us sample the gorgeous Serrano ham, Pata Negra, various salamis (the pepper salami was our favorite)... we left with a big bag filled to the brim with cave-aged gouda, gruyere, melt-in-your-mouth goat cheese, the Serrano ham, and pepper salami... and couldn't resist adding several of the flaky, buttery croissants. What a picnic we had later! It was truly an experience... and we'll stop by again very soon.
- Pros: High quality food, great selection of cheese, knowledgeable & friendly staff
- Cons: None
Splendid all around

Strange. The employee the previous reviewer is referring to is the primary reason why I return to Say Cheese again and again. I have learned an immense about cheese in general over the past few years primarily due to his knowledge and willingness to take the time both to determine the types of cheese that fit my taste in particular as well as to take me through the reasons why I might like a particular cheese over another. I am helplessly addicted to this place. Say Cheese is also a great place to grab lunch int eh area. Cozy and delicious. Unequivocally highly recommended.
- Pros: ambiance, service, products
Yum Bagel & Coffee / Totally Rude Service
by splendorspenda at Citysearch
I work around the corner and will splurge ($ & calories) every now and again for the breakfast bagel (w/ capers!) and a coffee from Say Cheese. As of recent though I find myself cruising right by and hitting up Trader Joes or Gelsons simply due to the rude service I get each and every time I go to Say Cheese. I hate to point fingers, but I read in another review below a mention of the "big black guy"- yes that's usually who I get too and he is the rudest of the rude. I've pretty much stopped going due to the fact the employees make you feel bad about ordering food, it's bizarre. All that put aside it's a really nice place w/ a great cheese selection!
- Pros: Yummy cheese selection
- Cons: Unhappy employee(s)

Worst Customer Service Ever.
by jenny305 at Citysearch
Im not one to write reviews about resaurants....But I have had a consistant string of bad experiences here. Almost every waiter Ive ever had has been so rude. There always out of stuff, and even at there cheese shop next door, the people are rude especially the main Big Black guy....
This place is ridiculous...the owner should come in and do some damage control because I hate to hate this place now. I live in the neighborhood and have had it with there service!
- Pros: the sandwiches are great.
- Cons: the service is terrible.
Best coffee on the east side

I love Say Cheese for it's location, the delicious vegetarian sandwich options and the browsing in the little shop next to the restaurant but most of all I love it for the coffee. Perfectly mixed espresso and the regular coffee is also wonderful.
worth the price

i love say cheese, even if it's pricy. i like the food, but the cheeses than other foods in the store side are wonderful! i was buying cheese to give to some friends as a gift and the guy who helped me was sooo nice and friendly and PATIENT! he helped me choose a nice selection and let me sample quite a few things before we decided on what to buy. i didn't get the most expensive things, but he gave me affordable alternatives, and truthfully, everything is great, so it doesn't matter if it's the least expensive thing there. you can't go wrong w/ say cheese! they will also give you advice on how to store the cheese and how to serve it.
- Pros: great products, great knowledgeable staff, clean
- Cons: pricey but worth it, parking
who knew something so stinky could be so good!!!

Amazing Cheese. It is worth the drive to have such a nice staff help me learn about the different cheeses.
I am a 1 stop shopper, and love that they have plenty of other goodies to go along with the selection of the week.
Thanks for all your help!!!!!
