And I still choose Video Hut over Blockbuster even though I have a membership with both. Video Hut feels comforting - If you walk in from the backside you go through this long narrow hall with movie posters that you can glance over as you walk through. They have videos there that you can't find at Blockbuster- Good documentaries, foreign films, new movies. The staff is always pretty nice too.
Pros: Open Late, Rarer Selections, Nice Staff
Cons: Although Parking is Free, Valet for Restaurant Next Door always has to peep you out

When walking into any video hut location, you are greeted by a friendly staff & automatically feel welcomed. They have a wide verity of videos & DVDs for people of all ages, & interests. Everything is well organized & always in the correct locations. If you’re looking for a new release, or maybe just an old flick to watch, Video hut is the store that carries it all. If by any chance they don’t have the film your looking for, simply ask one of there employees & with no problem they will special order it for you. Now that’s what I call being treated like family lol. Highly recommend video hut to all of my friends & family for various reasons. Thank you video hut for making rentals fun & easy.
Pros: Kind environment,Extremely reasonable pricing.

"I own an online business services website and I recently was defrauded by individuals who were using stolen credit cards to place purchases on my website. I did a little research and found that the items were delivered to the address where video hut is located, these guys are crooks or have crooks working for them whatever you do, do not expose your credit card numbers to them." I just thought I'd write a response to this review. The Video Hut on Vermont has P.O. Boxes that can be rented by customers. Because I don't know the exact details pertaining to this review, I can't say how relevant this information is, but it could explain why items were being shipped to the store.

I just read the most recent review of Video Hut. How terrible that that person's credit card number was stolen!! But I have to say that I have been renting from this Video Hut (on Vermont) for about 12 years. They have total access to my credit card number, my address and my phone number and have never abused that privilege. This is a really well run, family business and I am happy to have a great alternative to the evil empire (Blockbuster) in my neighborhood.
Pros: convenient, great service, non-corporate
Cons: sometimes confusing layout

Good selection. You can sign up for the extended rental plan (New releases: 2 nights; after 30 days: 5 days) so you have enough time to watch all of the extras on the DVDs. The staff isn't the best for their film knowledge, but they treat the customers very well. I've also bought used DVDs from them with no problems. The parking, however, is awful. Especially when the restaurant next door is busy. Go before dinnertime,
Cons: Parking

This is my neighborhood video store, and it's cheap, convenient and generally well-stocked. They've diligently expanded the DVD selection, and they're pretty good about ordering an item you request and adding it to the selection. But several times I've had movies and games charged to my account that I haven't rented. The folks are pretty good about taking care of the issue, but it's frustrating nonetheless.
Pros: Will order items, Inexpensive
Cons: Limited selection, Little parking

I've been coming here for five years since I live close by. Rental prices are cheaper than at Blockbuster. At first their DVD collection was a little weak, but lately they seem to have stepped it up, including a full rack of things like Criterion editions and X-Files seasons. The staff has been mostly friendly, although there are a few Tarantino-esque more-hip-than-thou types who work there. I come here to use their copy machine also.
