THE WAITERS WILL "ACCIDENTLY" DOUBLE SWIPE YOUR CREDIT CARD. I KNOW SEVERAL PEOPLE THEY HAVE DONE THIS TOO.

DO NOT PAY WITH CREDIT OR DEB-IT CARD UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE RESTAURANT WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No tip no service

by Nancy1334 at Citysearch

after 10 years of going to this resturaunt I loved the food, its in my area, and its open 24/7. The service is horrible. Its apparently an "industry-service" and the waiters can decide whether or not to serve you based on whether or not you've tipped before (I always tip, in cash and more than deserved but if its not more than a 5 buck tip you should be weary of the service). Sadly, I wont be returning and niether will many of my long time friends and regulars of this resturaunt. Its a shame when service like this is allowed at a good(food wise) resturaunt. As far as I knew, tips are optional based on service.

  • Pros: good food, brunch and the new waitress is nice
  • Cons: premadonna waiter/night manager, tipping not optional

Rudest, Unattentive Waiter Ever!!

by Jewels321 at Citysearch

I had a HORRIBLE experience. The food was excellent but the waiter ruined the whole dining experience for my party. We will never be back EVER!! It took forever for the waiter to pay any attention to us. The place was dead but he would rather sit and talk to his friend at the counter than work. The food is overpriced and you are excessively overcharged for extras (items like cheese, sour cream, onions). They even charged for a side of ranch which most restaurants would never dream of charging you for. When we relayed to the waiter that we thought the charges for extras were excessive and the charge for ranch was unexpected, he said he agreed with us and had already told management that. We asked him to let them know that customers were unhappy with it. He then became condescending, rude, and sarcastic. He insulted us and made rude comments to us until we left. This place was an awful way to end an evening that up until this point was so much fun. If you want to pay too much and put yourself in a bad mood, this is the place to go. Our waiter should be fired!! I did call in and talk to management about it the next day. They were extremely courteous and said they would address the problem personally. Maybe I just had an awful waiter but the place itself is normally a decent place to go. It's hard to say.

  • Pros: Food was great!!
  • Cons: Waiter was the rudest I've ever had!!!

crazzzyyyyyy LOVE IT

by uclamook at Citysearch

Great neighborhood diner that is very welcoming to ALL. Although the place can get very packed at times, the waiters dont seem to rush you, they are very curtious, friendly and unpretentious. This place is kind of retro, kind of new age, and attracts very interesting people with interesting thoughts or looks, or both. The day i went there, i probably saw all the possible shades of hair color ever created. The food was great as well. If you are a health freak, you might not like this place unles you order a salad and custom order the ingredients. They have great specialty sandwitches and they are not pricey at all ($7 - 9). Oh and before i forget, the mustard on the table is dijon which i thought was interesting. Oh and dont confuse the bathrooms for men and women, they are not labeled.

  • Pros: food, open late, ambience
  • Cons: parking

My new fave spot...

by sueinthepark at Citysearch

My friends and I came here on my birthday after seeing a show at the Arclight. The vibe was cool. The menu was huge (something for everyone). The prices are cheap and the portions were huge! And it's open 24 hours!!!

I'll definitely be coming back again and again!

  • Pros: Open 24 hours, great food, great $$$, great vibe
  • Cons: Parking

Best diner breakfast in LA

by kimcan84 at Citysearch

I love this place so much it hurts. Yes, I tend to get the same thing over and over, but it's just so good! Fred's breakfasts are so delish, and sure, while they may not be as cheap as Denny's (but then what is?) $6 and some change for a fresh egg breakfast sandwich ain't too bad. The New Amsterdam with cheese is great. The Bearded Mr. Frenchy is super sweet, but excellent. The burgers aren't the best in the world, but always manage to control my need to fast food without being too horribly greasy. Haven't tried the noodle dishes, but I hear they're good too. What you have to remember about this place is that it's a DINER, people. It's not going to be some fancy-shmancy restaurant serving extravagant meals. I eat there almost once a week and have maybe had one or two bad meals. The wait staff is always great -- even on busy Saturday mornings. My biggest complaint would be the parking can be pretty bad. But it IS Los Feliz...

  • Pros: Breakfast, Service, Price
  • Cons: Parking, Parking, Parking

Delicious food, big portions

by lizmoh at Citysearch

I moved to LA and had been waiting to try this place. Yes, it's hip, trendy, whatever.. but it is wayyy better than Cafe 101 and Swingers. I got the battered tuna salad sandwich and it was delicious...crispy and tasty. The bossa nova waffle is also amazing. Finally a diner type restaurant worth all the hype. I'll be back there soon!

  • Pros: good food, polite service, chill atmosphere
  • Cons: parking is bad, but that's LA
