BEST hair straightening & cuts - you'll keep coming back!
by ttwh
This is a great salon that offers an incredibly reasonable price. Several years ago, I used Citysearch to find a good place in LA for quality but reasonably-priced japanese hair straightening, and stumbled on this amazing gem.
Grace impressed me with the attention she put in her work, and her genuine care for the health and quality of my hair. My straightening perm has always, without fail, come out perfectly, and lasts for up to a whole year! For anyone who is considering getting a perm, go to Grace and you won't regret it. DO NOT go to a fancy beverly hills salon who will charge you triple the price. I have been going back to Grace every single year, even after I moved away I still go back when I come to LA.
In regards to haircuts, Grace listens to what you want, and gives you exactly that. She is detail oriented and incredibly skilled in what she does. She's great with my Asian hair, and I've also seen other customers of various ethnicities who all leave happy with a smile on their face. It's a great feeling when you've found someone who you TRUST with your hair.
I have not considered going to any other place since I've found Grace. BEST KEPT SECRET IN KTOWN. I hope she stays there forever!!
Haircut to die for
by hanabanana3
I really was in a slump and was in desperate need of a new hairdo. A cut, color or whatever. I had a picture of a style in mind for a really short bob and took it to Grace. She was so accommodating and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. The cut was phenomenal, so chic, so trendy, so what I needed. Her skill is beyond measure and she has been in business at the same location for over 20 years. She has tons of experience and most of all, she has great prices. We all know the economy is in a slump, but that doesn't mean you cant get a great hair cut!!! Go to grace, you'll keep going back...
Quality at a great price!
by happycanary
I heard about Grace's salon via citysearch and decided to give it a try; just a trim and conservative color to start with. If you don't speak Korean, do as many users recommend, and bring photos, of the back, front, and/or side. Be clear as you can about what you want to achieve; Grace speaks little English and it should be your responsibility to make sure you're both on the same page! If you don't like thinning scissors used on your hair, then say so. My first visit turned out ok and I have been going back ever since. I'm not into funky cuts and crazy colors, what is most important to me is a quality cut that is easy to care for, and gives my long hair movement and body. Grace does just that for me, and for an AMAZING price. I would highly recommend Grace to anyone looking for a quality classic cut.
- Pros: great haircut, reasonable prices
- Cons: no english spoken
A haircut and color treatment you will never forget!
by gracieloo
I usually don't write these reviews for anyone, but I just HAD to write about Kim. I recently went to her for a haircut and color job, wanting to update my look. I took a risk, just as anyone does, taking all the positive comments from citysearch as my only hope. I wanted an updated, very short, bob...it was seriously the bob of my dreams. she payed so much attention to detail and really understood how my hair worked and cut the bob so that it worked. I was so happy with the cut, I decided to go for a coloring job, which turned out to exceed my expectations as well. I loved the entire look, and walked out of there with a huge smile on my face! Grace was so attentive and so nice and really calmed my nerves. Her skill is incomprable to any other "fantastic sams-like" hair stylist Ive been to and it was at such a reasonable price! Vogue Hair Salon is truly the best kept secret in LA. I look forward to my next visit.
- Pros: attention to detail
BEST hair stylist ever!
by Mahkhod
I went to this salon three times already to get my hair permanently straightened! Honestly, I had no idea who they are and I just trusted the good ratings here. I am proud to say it was one of my best decisions. Kim is one of the nicest sweetest hair stylist I have seen. Not to mention she is very experienced and knows exactly what she is doing. If you need Japanese style straightening or haircut make sure to talk to her. Even once, I wasn't sure about the style and she was nice enough to put an extra time and come up with results that wold please me. The price by itself is amazing. Never seen such an ideal and reasonable price. She may be limited in speaking English, but you would have no problem communicating with her. Never have felt so much better about my hair before!
Oh, Citysearchers, you did me wrong.

When I moved to L.A., I was in search of a reasonably priced place to get my hair cut. I'm not all about spending insane amounts of money for haircuts, especially when I've gotten amazing cuts before under $40. Since the person who cuts my hair is in San Diego, I decided to look on Citysearch for a place with great service and reasonable prices.... that's when I came across Vogue Salon's listing on Citysearch. I decided to give Grace a try and booked an appointment with her one weekend. I have thick, slightly coarse, asian/filipino hair, so I figured, hey, she's asian too, she should know how to work with my hair texture! I even had a picture to show her what I wanted. My appointment came around and while Grace was very friendly and polite with me, took her time with my cut, I sadly walked out of there with a mullet. And no, not a modern, shaggy cut, but a MULLET that took months to grow out. I also mentioned that I wanted to keep the length as much as possible, and my long hair was cut up to my shoulders. Needless to say, I never went back and continued getting my haircut by my man, Kevin, at Fancy Salon in San Diego.... who was also much, much cheaper!
- Pros: friendly staff
- Cons: horrible parking

BEST HAIRCUT IN LOS ANGELES
by happyshiva
Grace is A M A Z I N G. She is a master of her art(s). She gave me the best and most precise haircut I've ever had in the four years I've lived in Los Angeles. She listens intently to what you want done and makes the most subtle suggestions without being pushy. She has an eye for beauty and has an innate understanding for what looks attractive. I've lived around the world and had my hair cut by the best of the best and can honestly say that Grace ranks right up there with them. The only difference is that she is down to Earth, reasonably priced and puts her heart into everything she touches. She's an artist through and through (she's even a painter)! If you need an amazing haircut, please go see Grace. I promise that you will not be disappointed. She is the B E S T!
- Pros: I honestly cannot say enough good things about her. She is all Pros!
- Cons: Not Applicable
Go to get your hair cut, not sip wine while you lounge
by michelle1123
That's why I went, to get my hair cut. No she didn't offer me wine. No I didn't listen to spa music while I waited. No I didn't feel like I was setting a trend by being there. Yeah, it's kind of awkward if you're not Korean (and I'm not). But, YES she gave me a GREAT haircut, and that's all I wanted!...Going back tomorrow for highlights.
- Pros: Skill, quality, value
- Cons: Ambience
Best Hair Color in town
by janiceflu
I can't agree with xeroxx more. Grace really cares about the customer and 100% customer satisfaction! I went to Grace with a hair disaster. The previous hair stylist i went to fried my hair and my hair was about 3 different colors. I needed a nice, natural, one-toned hair color that made my hair look healthy. I brought in a picture to Grace and she did exactly what I wanted! She asked me several times if i liked it or not, and really made sure i was completely in love with my hair. I loved the outcome and I loved the price even more! thank you thank you thank you Grace! I will definately be coming back for more. I am telling all my friends of this well kept secret in Koreatown.
