I usually don't write these reviews for anyone, but I just HAD to write about Kim. I recently went to her for a haircut and color job, wanting to update my look. I took a risk, just as anyone does, taking all the positive comments from citysearch as my only hope. I wanted an updated, very short, bob...it was seriously the bob of my dreams. she payed so much attention to detail and really understood how my hair worked and cut the bob so that it worked. I was so happy with the cut, I decided to go for a coloring job, which turned out to exceed my expectations as well. I loved the entire look, and walked out of there with a huge smile on my face! Grace was so attentive and so nice and really calmed my nerves. Her skill is incomprable to any other "fantastic sams-like" hair stylist Ive been to and it was at such a reasonable price! Vogue Hair Salon is truly the best kept secret in LA. I look forward to my next visit.
Pros: attention to detail

I went to this salon three times already to get my hair permanently straightened! Honestly, I had no idea who they are and I just trusted the good ratings here. I am proud to say it was one of my best decisions. Kim is one of the nicest sweetest hair stylist I have seen. Not to mention she is very experienced and knows exactly what she is doing. If you need Japanese style straightening or haircut make sure to talk to her. Even once, I wasn't sure about the style and she was nice enough to put an extra time and come up with results that wold please me. The price by itself is amazing. Never seen such an ideal and reasonable price. She may be limited in speaking English, but you would have no problem communicating with her. Never have felt so much better about my hair before!

When I moved to L.A., I was in search of a reasonably priced place to get my hair cut. I'm not all about spending insane amounts of money for haircuts, especially when I've gotten amazing cuts before under $40. Since the person who cuts my hair is in San Diego, I decided to look on Citysearch for a place with great service and reasonable prices.... that's when I came across Vogue Salon's listing on Citysearch. I decided to give Grace a try and booked an appointment with her one weekend. I have thick, slightly coarse, asian/filipino hair, so I figured, hey, she's asian too, she should know how to work with my hair texture! I even had a picture to show her what I wanted. My appointment came around and while Grace was very friendly and polite with me, took her time with my cut, I sadly walked out of there with a mullet. And no, not a modern, shaggy cut, but a MULLET that took months to grow out. I also mentioned that I wanted to keep the length as much as possible, and my long hair was cut up to my shoulders. Needless to say, I never went back and continued getting my haircut by my man, Kevin, at Fancy Salon in San Diego.... who was also much, much cheaper!
Pros: friendly staff
Cons: horrible parking

Grace is A M A Z I N G. She is a master of her art(s). She gave me the best and most precise haircut I've ever had in the four years I've lived in Los Angeles. She listens intently to what you want done and makes the most subtle suggestions without being pushy. She has an eye for beauty and has an innate understanding for what looks attractive. I've lived around the world and had my hair cut by the best of the best and can honestly say that Grace ranks right up there with them. The only difference is that she is down to Earth, reasonably priced and puts her heart into everything she touches. She's an artist through and through (she's even a painter)! If you need an amazing haircut, please go see Grace. I promise that you will not be disappointed. She is the B E S T!
Pros: I honestly cannot say enough good things about her. She is all Pros!
Cons: Not Applicable

That's why I went, to get my hair cut. No she didn't offer me wine. No I didn't listen to spa music while I waited. No I didn't feel like I was setting a trend by being there. Yeah, it's kind of awkward if you're not Korean (and I'm not). But, YES she gave me a GREAT haircut, and that's all I wanted!...Going back tomorrow for highlights.
Pros: Skill, quality, value
Cons: Ambience

I can't agree with xeroxx more. Grace really cares about the customer and 100% customer satisfaction! I went to Grace with a hair disaster. The previous hair stylist i went to fried my hair and my hair was about 3 different colors. I needed a nice, natural, one-toned hair color that made my hair look healthy. I brought in a picture to Grace and she did exactly what I wanted! She asked me several times if i liked it or not, and really made sure i was completely in love with my hair. I loved the outcome and I loved the price even more! thank you thank you thank you Grace! I will definately be coming back for more. I am telling all my friends of this well kept secret in Koreatown.

I moved to LA and started searching for a great hairstylist. I've tried many, many of whom cut hair for the stars and charge up to $500 for cut&color. I was never quite happy with the results, felt even worse after the wallet was empty. After reading reviews, I had to give Vogue a try. For 3 years I've been going to Grace, about every 2-3 months I get a very stylish cut/color without breaking the bank. I've always found parking easily. I speak English only and had absolutely no problem communicating with Grace. Besides, pictures say a thousand words. She's so kind&patient in understanding what I wanted and I could not believe how gorgeous i looked after the first visit and each visit after. My search is over. I am keeping her FOR LIFE. The highlights I got was beautiful, I received many compliments. Even my mother in law who's a hair stylist herself commented that Grace has got serious skills. The best part of it is that I can actually go 2-6 months without getting a haircut after that, and it continues to look better and better, believe it or not. (my sister swears by it too) Grace is a total perfectionist, and she won't quit until both she and I are completely happy w/the cut. I'm never rushed out the door like I used to be in other salons. I've brought my sister in, and my mother for her perm. My sister likes variety, and asks Grace for different hair styles/color all the time. She's so happy that it's different everytime yet super trendy each cut! She travels a long way to see Grace (from Iowa). She tells me that nobody will touch her hair but Grace. I've never had a stylist who can make a good cut so consistently like Grace.I've selfishly hid this gem (Grace) from you girls out there for 3 years, and finally feel so guilty that I must write this review. because Grace IS ALL THAT, and she absolutely deserves the best compliment one can give. I owe this to her, after making me the hottest girl in town time after time! All the thanks Grace!
Pros: great style, consistent, great color too! best price in town. Friendly, and meticulous
Cons: you'll feel bad not to tip well... considering what a bargain you're getting for the cut of your life

I needed a hair cut, a good one, really badly. I went to Grace because a friend recommended her to me. I brought in a picture and told her what i wanted. I got a really great haircut that looked like I got it done at a Beverly Hills Salon just cheaper! The coloring job was also perfection, the style was great and it really complemented my haircut. I couldnt believe it. I know I will be coming back again and again. It also makes me sad to hear people that had different experiences than I did. I am extremely happy with my hair and am happy with the service I got at the shop. It was a very positive experience. thanks for the great haircut and fabulous color!
Pros: easy directions

I was so nervous and scared to try something new. I have had the same hair style for more than 7 years. I have always kept it the same long length with light waves, same color, nothing new. After hearing all of her reviews, I decided to go to Grace for a change, and it was the greatest thing I have done in a long long time. I got an inverted bob hair cut and died my hair black, a total change from what I have had for too long. It was literally the perfect hair cut. you can see that she has had superior training and a lot of experience. the hair cut was perfect because she really looked at the texture and natural wave of my hair and worked around it to make it perfectly the way i wanted it. and the color only supplemented my hair cut and the entire package was a success. thank you so much for giving me this change that i've waited for so long. i wouldnt be writing this if i werent so happy with my hairdo. i can trust grace with anything now!
