Breakfast at Gower Gultch
by RandiSchmelzer_Citysearch at Citysearch
I'm no Starbucks groupie, but I seem to find myself here just a little too often. The coffee is fine, my dog likes the classic crumble cake, and it's a convenient place to pick up a newspaper. But the reason I come here every day is because of the crowd: This is not your usual "I wear black because my SUV-driving soul is black" Starbucks crowd. These are people who show up in their pajamas, unshaven, looking to chat for hours about out-of-body experiences and power tools with whoever happens to wander by. Go between 8-11am on a Saturday morning, sit on the stoop, and just enjoy the conversations.
Seattle-based coffee chain lures caffeine addicts with upscale roasts, caramel frappuccinos, shaken iced teas and an extra shot of trendiness.

In Short
For many, getting their daily jolt of java has become a daily morning ritual, and the cardboard cup with its infamous green label is the close companion of every coffee aficionado. Busy baristas work seamlessly behind the bar, juggling orders for their strongly-brewed drips and signature hot and cool beverages. While providing a wide selection of coffee specialties, pastries and various coffee related goods, patrons are invited to settle down in comfy armchairs and enjoy their favorite brews amid the chatter of the laidback yet caffeinated crowd.

I agree--very nice and easy-to-talk-to crowd here, rarely a long line for coffee.
