by anthony667

Went to OffVine and was happy that it looks just like it did, but better. Its a hidden gem in Hollywood. Loved the food and such a relaxing, romantic setting.

OffVine is back!!

by jb1gf2

OffVine is open for business again and looking better than ever! They have the same chef and owners and the place is as charming as always, more so. They have a great deal on Monday nights....half price menu, a great deal! The brunches are on saturday and sunday, with bottomless champagne! Sit outside in the garden!

  • Pros: beautiful craftsman house, great food and service

off vine i'll miss you, come back soon!

by lafiera

off vine is gone! my husband and i are soo very sad to hear that our favorite resturant is gone. we have been going to off vine since day one, we always had a great time and were always welcomed at the door as if we were family. the food was so great and almost guilt-free because it was healthy, flavorful and plentiful. the souffles were to die for! our hearts are broken. we love you all and you are all in our prayers. hope you come back very soon!

  • Pros: great souffles
  • Cons: uni=sex bathroom

GONE :(

by tyguy81

Off Vine caught on fire last night and and, while not burned to the ground, is pretty much irrepairably damaged. I will miss my favorite restaurant.

Romantic bungalow - a hidden gem

by citrusave

This is my favorite restaurant in L.A. It's a little pricey, but I like to go there for special occasions or just to treat myself. The atmosphere is truly special. The service is impeccable and I've always had very good food. It's a cheery spot for breakfast or lunch and turns more romantic at night. Take a date or your mom, either will be impressed!

  • Pros: Service, Atmosphere
  • Cons: Location - but it's a fun surprise beyond the gate and you forget the bad neighborhood.

had a great meal and a great time!

by hollyjim

I really love this place. The food is great and has something for everyone. I had one of the seafood specials and loved it. My friends and I loved the setting. Its really comfortable and classy and different, not like most of the other hollywood restaurants now that all look the same. It feels like you are out of LA. Take some friends for a fun night and show them something different.

Great food, great people!

by scottsites

Off Vine is one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. The food is always great and the staff and ambience are first rate. I recently had the filet mignon and it was the best I'd had in years. It was cooked to perfection! Also, the pumpkin souffle is out of this world. Off Vine is a fantastic choice for a special occasion or just a great dinner out.

  • Pros: wait staff, ambience and consistently good food
  • Cons: the pumpkin souffle is only seasonal

Aptly named, since the food is off.

by mike3333

Off Vine is cute and comfortable, hidden in the bushes on an otherwise not-so-cute block that serves as the rear end of Sunset. While it claims to serve comfort food, many of its dishes are likely to make you somewhat uncomfortable due to their poorly conceived recipes. The most disappointing are the ones with unnecessary Asian influences--like another diner noted, those chicken ravioli are fine, but darned if that mango chutney doesn't taste just like takeout duck sauce--flavors that just don't go together. The shrimp over Asian vegetables is pretty much what it claims to be, but you should be offended that it costs anything over 7 bucks since it has a taste reminiscent of Panda Express. Other dishes are also average, a passable Caesar salad and just okay crab cakes. My free advice? Since the place is in a cozy bungalow, they should revamp the menu to be even more comfort-oriented, like adding a great mac n' cheese, for example. Lose the Asian influences, forget the complicated stuff and create a solid menu of well-done classics.

  • Pros: Homey atmosphere, pleasant staff
  • Cons: Disappointingly average food

Amazing Food & Wine in Hollywood!!!

by natehogue

I recently had a first date at Off-Vine and had a great time. The wine list was amazing!! They have a huge selection of wines by the glass and by the bottle - great prices. I ordered the NY Steak and it was perfect! My date had the Pecan Chicken and loved it!! And finally, we had the souffle which was the perfect ending to a wonderful dinner! What we liked the most was the "vibe" of the restaurant. Though it is in the middle of hollywood, we felt like we were someplace else! it was really cozy and familar. The servers were really friendly and the music was cool. I'm definitly going back, maybe nextime with friends - because it also seems like a great place to celebrate a birthday with a group of people!! I feel like I discovered the new "hot spot" in Hollywwod to impress a date and have a great dinner with a group of friends!!!

  • Pros: Great wine selections, cool vibe in hollywood, friendly service

Mediocre food

by jakers333

Service was fine, but all 3 of my courses were mediocre to poor. Really disappointed in the food. The ravioli in "mango chutney" actually tastes like ravioli in duck sauce from a cheap Chinese restaurant. And the rasberry souffle is just a vanilla souffle with like three rasberries tossed in. I'll never eat here again.
