avoid weekends, perfect weekday bar.
by cauhengua_girl
always gonna be my home base bar. Cheap, cold beer, and great service. No lighting the bar on fire anymore though, its a wood bar so as cool as it was, had to end. Go long enough you'll know everyone in there. Attractive bartenders, Torrance is the shitt (and lord can the man sing) and the DJ's are always good. Just dont touch anything in the bathroom (its pretty rank, if you can, try and avoid it) and its one of the best bars in LA, but as with anywhere, weekends are ridicoulos.
- Pros: cheap beer, good crowd, great staff
- Cons: bathrooms are filthy, weekends its too packed
My favorite dive bar anywhere
by so_adorable
It's dark, it's low-key, and if you like loud rock music, this is the place to be. The drinks are strong and moderately priced. The jukebox is gone - but instead, you get different music every night of the week from some great DJs. They still light the bar on fire every once in a while. And Torrance is the best door man in town!
Rockin' It

I went here with a bunch of friends for my bday a few months ago, it was my first time here, and it ROCKED! We were able to get the table in the front and drank the nigbt away. Although they don't have a dance floor I made it a need to shake my tail feather between the table and the bar. Entire staff is nice, DJ was a little rude but he still rocked the greatest tunes. I had a ball. Decor ain't too impressive but staff and tunes make up for it.
- Pros: Friendly staff, Dark decor, Lively
- Cons: Parking

The music is awesome and gets better throughout the night, drinks are strong, bigger then the norm, and for LA not too pricey at all. The bartenders are pretty much all really hot girls with good style, and the doormans name is Torrance. Like the city. Its just a loud, hot, excellent spot to end up. I recommend it highly.
- Pros: Hot Bartenders, Friendly Bartenders, Strong Drinks
- Cons: Pesky Hipster Girls, Bathroom line
i LOVE this bar...

huge bucket drinks...HOT, friendly bartenders...unpretentious, fun drunks...the BEST djs, playing the BEST rock n roll ever. undoubtedly my favorite bar in L.A., or anywhere really. great fun any night of the week!
- Pros: people, music, drinks
- Cons: parking
Bartenders suck--poor service
by cassy666
i've been here a few times and--the worst service ever! the bartenders are either half asleep or cranky and then give you the wrong drink, and by the way, how could you have possibly picked a more unattractive bunch of staff? i like to see a cute face hand over my drink.
this place is not for real punk rockers--drinks are expensive, lotsa hollywood-types and LOSERS/watering hole for the local drunks
- Cons: bartenders, weak drinks
Watch out for Poison wannabe's
by nikki171712
Dank bar... three bartenders or maybe even four for a relatively small crowd... scored seats at the bar and never had to wait for a drink. Music rocked and was waaaayy too loud- perfect. Only con was the incredibly wasted bleach-blond, eyelinered, Poison-wannabe guy who mauled me with incoherent babble the second my date walked away and left fleas on me, I think. Gross.
- Pros: Service
- Cons: Unwanted attention
A narrow Cahuenga Corridor dive bar known for its punk jukebox and "Jackass"-inspired antics.

The Scene
Whiskey flows and punk rock blows throughout this grungy, crimson-tinted room. The only decoration for the long, narrow space comes in the form of rickety ceiling fans, mirrored walls and red Chinese lanterns. A rough-and-tumble, tattooed crowd and in-your-face tunes evoke a retro CBGB's vibe. It's too loud for small talk, the drinks are relatively cheap, so pull up to the table-top bar or people watch against the back wall. A lucky few might score a seat at the corner table in front, next to the pocket-sized DJ area. The famous jukebox by the bathrooms features '70s and '80s classics from the likes of Johnny Cash, Blondie and the Sex Pistols.
The Draw
The low-key, hard-drinking, fast-living vibe attracts a rowdy cast of characters that usually includes Johnny Knoxville and his "Jackass" cohorts, local barflies and various Sid and Nancy types.
Shame about the..

Service. In my experience, if you happen to be a woman who isn't a regular to this joint, you're going to have problems getting served. The drinks were okay, it wasn't overpriced, the service stank but by contrast the atmosphere was great. Great for guys.
- Pros: Good atmosphere
- Cons: Bad service
I love my bar.

Most nights, I don't remember what happens at the Burgundy Room. Usually, I end up in a sing-along with people I don't know, glass gets broken, random make outs happen and I stumble home. If you are lucy, you will hear Torrance the door man sing. The drinks are strong. Yes.
