Stayed here one night in the executive 2-queen with 5 friends in early December 2006. You can tell the hotel used to be an apartment/housing building when you drive up. Area does not seem that sketchy, I felt safe enough staying here & leaving my car parked outside in the lot. Employees were very helpful & courteous; excellent service. Good location - literally just a few steps to the Kodak Theatre & mall, and the Walk of Fame. Parking is very limited, you have to park in the back in a cramped lot, if spaces are available. Rooms were very spacious, a little older & worn out, but everything looked clean. Not sure about the celebrity wallage - it kind of made the room a little creepy looking. Beds were clean & okay. Bathroom was older & dingy, but seemed clean. Internet in room was available. Dining area was convenient. Free continental breakfast included coffee, juice, croissants, bagels, and a few other items. Good for the budget traveler. Would stay here again.
- Pros: Service, Parking, Location
- Cons: Parking is cramped, rooms are little older

Booked this place for only 3 days, you wouldn't want to spend too much time here, but really what are you doing in the hotel in LA! For the price and the location it's really cheap! but the bathroom and bedroom need some serious updating. It wasn't dirty as such, just dated and old. Sheets were clean
It's one of Hollywood's best hotel bargains--and for these prices, you'll survive without an in-room hairdryer.

In Short
The hotel bills itself as Hollywood's "finest bed-and-breakfast retreat," and savvy budget travelers agree. Beds are comfy and inviting, and clean bathrooms are subtly scented with citrus disinfectant. Best of all, celeb sightings are guaranteed as each room is adorned with caricatures of silver-screen legends--Laurel and Hardy, Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin. Sit on the front patio and chat with guests from all over the world--some with pets in tow--as they smoke, sip coffee, and watch the curbside action in the recently refurbished neighborhood.
Somewhat sketchy but cheap

The rooms are of questionable cleanliness, and you may have a hard time finding a place to park if the hotel is full, but the rates are so cheap that this hotel is unbeatable for the budget traveller.
- Pros: cheap, cheap, cheap
- Cons: cleanliness?
