Best Colombian food I've ever had
by vecka76
I've eaten at several Columbian places in the nation, and I have to say that this has been the best so far. I was there on a Saturday night and the service was perfect. Its a respectful family environment and the elegance shows. The appearance from out side is intimidating; parking is bad and once you walk in you think twice, but have a seat and the servers will make it feel like a 4 start. The food was quick and exquisite.
- Pros: Service, Quickness, Food
- Cons: , Lot, Appearance
Dissapointed!

I heard about this place while on a plane home from Medellin and was very excited, I love colombian food. The bandeja paisa was a complete dissapointment. The chicharon was hard, the beans were not that good and it did not come with avocado.
If you are ever in that neigborhood, there is a place that is incredible down the street. La Casita Colombiana, 4903 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90029. I have only been there twice but I love it. The bandeja paisa is excellent, and they have aguila to drink. It was good.
Not Impressed

My husband and I heard about this restaurant from a friend and were very excited since we are from Colombia. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed in the quality of the food and the prices were also a little high for what was served. The empanadas were ok but not the quality I'm used to having. The meat was tough and I didn't enjoy the meal. I would not go back.
- Pros: none
- Cons: no parking, slow service, food quality is average
Authentic, Authentic

An incredible restaurant if you are looking for amazingly delicious, authentic Colombian food. Not only that, they serve big portions. For first time goers, I reccomend "El Pollo Tropical" and "Lengua." Their juice drinks (jugos frescos) are also delicious. I suggest "Jugo de Mamey with Milk," and "Jugo de Mango with Milk." Again, this is a great, non-chained restaurant, with a mellow atmosphere and good customer service. Grade: A

I have been going to this restaurant as a kid. Now that I am 30 , I realize the gem and the uniqueness of this restaurant. Sure , parking is hard to find at best , but the food is phenomenal. This is the restaurant I take my friends when they want to know what Colombian food is. The menu can be a little overwhelming so don't be shy to ask what's what...and don't forget to order a pony malta or a colombiana to wash those chicharronnes and platanos with!!!
- Pros: price, service, seating
- Cons: parking
