It's true. Dr. Gersh and her partners at Women's Medical Group of Irvine are now seeing patients on Saturday!! If that's not attending to the patient's needs, I don't know what is! And not only am I able to schedule my appointments on the weekend, the care is unbeatable. I've always hated visits to the doctor, but going to WMGI feels more like pampering that prodding. I got to spend nearly an hour with Dr. Gersh and she was so patient answering all of my questions. I've been going to Dr. Gersh since I moved from the East Coast three years ago. All of my doctors back home were cash-only, so I wasn't surprised or upset when the practice canceled its insurance contracts. The cost differential isn't that huge and the paperwork takes a few minutes. I suppose that it might seem like a headache for people who've never had to send in their own superbills, but it just doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me. When I choose a doctor, my priority is excellent care and that's that! I highly recommend Dr. Gersh and Women's Medical Group of Irvine. You won't be disappointed!!

Pros: Saturday hours, gentle care, extremely knowledgable doctors, lots of freebies!!

Cons: Out-of-network

Filing my own insurance claim is a small price to pay for the excellent care I receive at the Women's Medical Group of Irvine. I've only seen Dr. Gersch a couple times; I usually see Dr. Nguyen. I'm a long time patient of the practice, but I've been even more impressed recently, since they've canceled their insurance contracts. Initially, I thought it would be a bit of a pain, but it's not bad. And the results have been incredible. Now, the doctors have been able to really expand the scope of care and have gone from a basic women's health clinic to a full-service one-stop-shop for women! Yesterday, in one visit, I had my annual check-up, a free facial, and an initial sexual health consultation. And if I didn't have to leave to pick my daughter up from school, I would've gotten the buy one get one free laser hair removal package! Plus, I picked up a brochure about their upcoming seminar on menopause. I read some earlier reviews and don't understand how some people think that the practice isn't prioritizing the patient. What other medical practice offers Saturday hours, for goodness sake?! I'm recommending the Women's Medical Group of Irvine to all my friends and family!

Pros: Comprehensive care

Cons: Out-of-network

I saw Vicki, the NP, last week and had can only give rave reviews. She was so kind and attentive. The procedure she did was a bit uncomfortable, but she was so gentle and concerned about me the whole time. I barely had to wait to be seen and when she did come into the room, she gave me her undivided attention and never rushed me. The entire staff was so friendly and helpful. The insurance papers are easy to fill out and I'm not anticipating any problems. I've been to so many crappy doctors, I'm not about to give Vicki up!! Some of my friends also go to doctors in this practice and I've never heard them say anything disparaging about it. I highly recommend it!

Pros: Gentle, friendly, quick wait time, great staff, ample time with the doctor

Cons: Doesn't bill insurance for you, but it's easy. Just write your group number at the top of the superbill and mail it in...at least for Aetna!

I loved my visit to Dr. Gersh's office. The staff are all so friendly, the waiting time was minimal, and I got to spend 40 minutes with the doctor (unlike other offices where I've waited for over an hour to be seen only to be rushed out after a few minutes!). I also just received their monthly newsletter and learned that they're now offering Saturday hours! This practice is really tailored to meeting the needs of their patients. Recently Dr. Gersh canceled the practice's insurance contracts. Yes, it meant that I had to spend an extra 5 minutes of my life mailing in my own paperwork, but it's not a big deal! The cost of my visit is going toward my out-of-network co-pay and it wasn't even that expensive! I pay more on utilities and I care far more about my healthcare than I do about my cable tv access!! Plus, even if they were in-network, I'd end up paying the same for multiple visits and time off work. This way, I can just come in and take care of everything all at once. People on this message board seem really upset about the insurance issue, but it's really not a big deal. For excellent care and wonderful people, I'd pay an extra couple bucks!! I've recommended this practice to my sisters and all of my girlfriends.

Pros: Too many to list

Cons: They used to have a fish tank, but it wasn't there last time I visited.

DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE. The staff is horrible and Dr. Gersch will try to schedule you for unnecessary surgeries. Luckily, I had enough sense to get a second opinion and what a shock....I did not need surgery. They will overcharge you and will perform expensive tests that you do not need. They are extremely dishonest and only want your money.

Pros: none

Cons: too many to list

I have been going to this clinic for 9 years and I am extremely happy with the staff and doctors. I would give them a 5 star except I don't like the new insurance rules. I have always had an easy time getting an appointment and have never had an unreasonable wait. I feel that everyone waits at any doctor they go to and as long as they have good reading material, I don't mind a reasonable wait. The lady that complained about having an unnecessary surgery should be questioning herself! If a doctor recommends having something done........ask questions......use common sense!! I have called on many occasions for refills and have always been treated well. I would highly recommend Dr Gersch and her staff!

Pros: Very friendly staff, great care, love the free med samples!

Cons: Does not bill insurance

Everyone was so friendly and eager to help. The waiting room colors aren't my favorite, but I'll sacrifice aesthetic for excellent care any day! Dr. Gersh was so warm and caring--I'm usually pretty unhappy to go to the gyno, but she made me feel so comfortable. All the nurses seemed wonderful too. The insurance thing isn't a big deal. In fact, when all is said and done, I'm paying about the same. Anyway, if I'm going to splurge on anything, I'd rather splurge on my health! I'd recommend all my friends without any reservations!

Pros: excellent care, patient doctors, friendly MAs

Cons: Color scheme in the waiting room

Watch your wallet! Not only is the entire staff here hostile and cold, they make you pay upfront and do not accept insurance anymore. Dr. Gersh performed an unnecessary major surgery, did not encourage me to seek additional opinions and did not assess me the following day but sent me home with no pain medications or discharge instructions. I later developed a pelvic absess and was hospitilized for over 5 days, thankfully got a knowlegable OBGyn who I refer my friends and family to. At one point we discovered that the staff had been removing money from my bank account and we had to have the Irvine Police come to the office to make them stop. Their staff seem very hostile and you will wait forever to be seen. No follow up, they don't answer questions and you will never get prescriptions refilled in a timely way. I would NEVER seek treatment here and would NEVER reccommend this office to ANYONE I CARE ABOUT!!!!!
