In Short
Debuting in 1962 as Thrif D Discount Center in Scranton, Pa., this drugstore chain became known as Rite Aid in 1968, and today is one of the largest in the nation. In addition to a pharmacy, each store carries a wide variety of health-care and household items--from nutritional supplements to cleaning supplies to snack foods. Flu clinics are held at various locations throughout the flu season.
Fine, It's not gourmet Ice Cream...

...That doesn't mean it's not good. I'm not one of those people that need a brand name on a product to admit I like it. Fine, the ice cream is not exotic, it's not named after famous rock stars, nor is it $5 a scoop. Thrifty's ice cream is the EXACT same as it used to be when I was a kid; A really good ice cream, at a really good price. It's not nostalgia that some people will accuse faithful followers of Thrifty's ice cream. It's that it still tastes just as good as it did back then. Someone mentioned their Ice Cream Sandwiches...I hadn't tried one in years...I bought one last week and it's still just as yummy as ever. I like my ice cream like I like my men: Good, Sweet, and after years together, still makes my mouth water.
- Pros: Ice Cream, Prices
Oh, it's good

Why on earth a pharmacy has great ice cream is beyond me, but talk about an impulse purchase. I can barely make it past the aspirin aisle without being drawn to the dairy goodness. The square scoop is a nice signature on the experience.
- Pros: ice cream
- Cons: pharmacy stinks
