Longtime neighborhood hole-in-the-wall eatery serves traditional Israeli food and hearty vegetarian options.
by Tara Lis at Citysearch
It's not much to look at--and anyone who blinks and drive is bound to miss it altogether--but this hole in the wall is a neighborhood institution for traditional Israeli food, a rare treat in a town saturated with Middle Eastern take-out and Jewish delis. The menu does include familiar favorites like schwarma and hummus, but also features more unusual dishes such as Yemenite chicken soup, baked lamb and sofrito beef. The appreciative, casual crowd includes a mix of expats, local Kosher eaters and adventurous foodies who can see past the faux marble tables, worn walls and florescent lighting.
Authentic & Delicious

Been going here since I was a kid...Best spicy fish, steak, grilled chicken, french fries, hummus, and Israeli salad. If you've eaten in a restaurant in Israel, it will feel familiar.
- Pros: Big meals and Delicious
- Cons: A bit pricey; no ambience
Yemenite Israeli Food
by havanache at Citysearch
I have been going here since I was 2 years old. The food is consistenly great. The Israeli salad is perfect. Grilled chicken flawless and humus good.
Yemenite soups are also popular, as are the savoury malawach, jachnun, schwarma and falafel.
The restaurant is now kosher, so it is closed on Saturdays and there is no dairy or milk on the menu.
- Pros: Israeli, Humus, Yemenite
- Cons: Simple, Basic, Not Fancy
