Great Bar - Great Bartender! - Great Music!

by LSMueller

This place is the same great place I used to gig at.

I don't know what the other dude is talking about, the bartenders are AMAZING! He was probably drunk and unruly!

Truly friendly and warm, Molly Malones is THE Irish Pub for LA. Thank God for them.

Do yourself a favor and try it for yourself! You will have a great time at this place! : )

  • Pros: Food, music, people, bartender
  • Cons: small bathrooms

nice atmosphere except for the bartender

by janet13

watch out for the bartender- short girl with brown hair- I think her name is Annette- she was very rude, and actually had us kicked out after starting a fight by insulting me. then, the next week she was rude to a friend and had them kicked out too!

otherwise, i always enjoyed this bar! i was a regular, but not anymore. there is no point in spending money for someone to yell at you!

unfortunately, the manager didn't seem too interested in reprimanding her either. i guess he would rather loose business.

  • Pros: irish pub feel
  • Cons: rude bartender

Bad service.

by Marymary

* bathrooms are hideous

* weak, expensive drinks

* rude bartender

I came in Monday with a couple of friends to check out a band we know.

Let's just say that I won't be back any day soon. I asked for a drink and the bartender was so rude. There are other bars in the area where business is appreciated.

  • Pros: Bands
  • Cons: everything else

Mind the Guinness

by celticowboy

Visited from out of state. Lively music and good mix of a crowd. Proprietor's daughter served us -- a great personality. Only complaint, the Guinness was a bit rancid...clean those lines weekly.

  • Pros: A great gathering place for the hardworking guys and gals in the area
  • Cons: Not for those who want a quiet venue or smooth Guinness

Great place to unwind

by aserrano25

Awesome place to unwind and grab a few drinks. Service is great, and the bartenders know how to pour a good drink.

Just moved here from Ft. Lauderdale and wasn't in the mood to go club hopping, but still wanted to get out & have a drink. Molly's was perfect!

Lively Fairfax pub does Irish with a contemporary twist.

by Kim Cooper

The Scene
As one of the first city taverns re-licensed after Prohibition, Molly's has always occupied a spot in the hearts of locals. This cozy venue specializes in traditional Celtic and contemporary folk sounds, plus rock and blues. Neil Boyle's portraits decorate the walls, highlighting 30 years of Molly's regulars. Come at lunchtime for classic pub grub such as fish-and-chips, burgers and corned beef. If you don't feel like sitting in the dark, go ahead and grab a seat at an outdoor table.

Nice Bar, Nice Staff

by julesf402

Went on a Wednesday night to see a band. Paid a $6 cover. Nice crowd. Good beer. Good bartender. The music in the front bar isn't so loud that you can't talk. Overall cool bar for L.A.

  • Pros: Service, Beer, Laidback atmosphere
  • Cons: cover charge

Aye, tis' good

by keithwags

A fine Irish pub with decent prices and a fun atmoshpere. More of a relaxed neighborhood bar than a singles joint, with an interesting mix of people. The bands are hit and miss, but with enough Guinness they all sound good. Plus Flogging Molly on the jukebox, which is always a plus.

  • Pros: beer, good bands

A Pub in LA?

by emc2

In a city that has as much character as Fresno, I was shocked that we stumbled upon, apparently, the only pub in LA. Being from Chicago, you can find an Irish bar every 100 yards, but this one would fit right in. Good jukebox, Guinness, and darts. Add in 3 good bands for no cover and this is the place to set up camp. The live music is in one room and the bar in the other and that set-up works great. Oh, and a few pretty girls there didn't hurt either.

  • Pros: Atmosphere, Character, Guinness
