Delicious!
by Burhan at Citysearch
It was absolutely delicious. I especially liked the vegetable dishes. The naan was baked well. I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Indian food.
- Pros: Good Service and Good Food
People have lost touch with what good Indian food tastes lik
by Vigneshm at Citysearch
We were visiting from the Bay Area which by no means is the mecca of Indian food. However the service and food at Anarkali in Los Angeles were absolutely terrible. Being from India my family has plenty of experience in Indian food
First of all we had a 50 off 100 coupon which the restaurant itself offered on a website. Not only did the waiter make it a point to remind us that certain things didn't qualify EVERY TIME he came to our table(we know how to read thanks), he was loud enough to make others know we were using such a coupon and in a way were inferior to others. I am sorry for being diligent enough to find a deal you were stupid enough to offer.
The food was terrible( i think the fact we had a coupon played a role ) . Everything was ordered very spicy. In return we got oily ( we could see the oil floating on top of every dish) , bland and an excuse for food. In fact the service was so poor that they forgot to bring the sweet dish for the already expensive thali.
- Pros: the waiter was very eager to pick up the credit card
- Cons: terrible terrible non-spicy, oily food. Never again
Simply Delicious

I have to say that two of my favorite dishes, Chicken Tikka Masala and Shrimp Vindaloo were exceptionally great. Vindaloo was nice and spicy and you can taste the flavor of the dish. What can I say about the masala? It was perfect.
The service was great, which sometimes can lack at some Indian restaurants. Thank You Anarkali!!!
- Pros: Consistancy
- Cons: Nothing that I have notice
Love The Food!!!
by elewis402 at Citysearch
I am a regular customer of Anarkali and I have to say that their food is absolutely delicious. They are very friendly and accommodating to the needs of their customers. Sometimes you have to wait for a table because they are very busy, but the wait is worth it. I highly recommend Anarkali to anyone looking for a good Indian restaurant that does not disappoint.
- Pros: Free Delivery
- Cons: Nothing that I noticed.
Great Food, Just like England
by LivingstonH at Citysearch
I had to try Anarkali, because everytime I am here for business, my colleagues would tell me how great the food was at Anarkali. Finally, this past weekend I went there with a friend and I was amazed at how good this restaurant was. The food reminded me of my favorite restaurant in London. The Chicken Tikka Masala was excellent and Shrimp Vindaloo was simply superb. The restaurant is very beautiful and for a very busy place the service was great.
- Pros: Like the food in
- Cons: Nothing that I have seen
Stays True to Indian Cuisine
by PSA2009 at Citysearch
I am of South Asian descent and would consider myself a connoisseur on Indian food. With that being said, the food at Anarkali is an excellent blend of herbs, spices, meats, and vegetables.
As far as the atmosphere is concerned, the staff was very attentive to our dining needs in spite of the fact that it was busy. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The price isn't bad either. I highly recommend it.
- Pros: Food Full of Flavor, Good Customer Service, Reasonable Price
- Cons: None
Horrible Experience - WILL NEVER GO or RECOMMEND
by CDWayne at Citysearch
Beware - Do not go by online ratings !
Go by those one/ two star real reviews peppered among the mostly 'good' ones.
Nothing Indian about any food. Just lousy cooking.
Went tonight for a farewell dinner for my colleague. Nothing good about anything we ordered (except the raita), but sure enough got a hefty bill for 3 with a hefty service charge !!
Veg Soup - tasted nothing more than watered sambar
Paneer mutter - Of course filled with paneer and peas. But tasted like feet.
Aloo Gobi - Pile of huge pieces of cauliflower and potatoes. Blank, blank, blank.
Chicken Biriyani - Peas and more peas.
Did I say peas many times.. ?? Seemed like a 'peas' truck overturned in their kitchen.
I can go on and on - about the veg biriyani, 'bread-tasty' gulab jamun and others. But not worth the time I spend writing this.
Still pisesd off about what I had to pay for this carp..
WILL NEVER GO AGAIN
- Pros: Attractive sign board !!
- Cons: Nothing Indian about food - just bad food

The Best Restaurant by Far!
by alexroy02 at Citysearch
I love this place because of consistency in their food and service. Everytime I have the Chicken Tikka Masala, its perfect. I love the ambiance of the restaurant. Also, they deliver free and its fast and quality is same as if you are dining in. They give great portions of entrees and their menu price is very reasonable compare to other Indian restaurants. By the way, if you like drinking beer, try Taj Mahal beer, its really good.
- Pros: Everything
- Cons: Nothing so far
Great Customer Service
by ThePope at Citysearch
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes or wants to try Indian food. Perfect place to take a date or just have dinner with friends. The ambiance sets to the mood for a delicious Indian dinner. The prices were reasonable as well. Customer service was off the charts!
The only thing I would change is to order my food hot/spicy. We asked for medium and it was a bit too mild. That said, I LOVE hot food, but I think the others in our party were a little scared of what the spices could do. Mistake on our part.
- Pros: Customer Service, Ambiance, Price
- Cons: Not much - could've been spicier
